Id say the older 300 and 400 series started the best for sure. A part of me believes the larger batteries accustomed to those machines contributes to better cold starting.
I'm surprised the two gas tractors had such a hard time starting up. While I didn't think they'd necessarily better than the diesel, I'd figured better nonetheless. But it took awhile for that diesel to fire off too. I mean 23 is cold but is not that cold. I think the other ones should have started as easy as the 322, just my opinion. Odd the two older tractors did so much better.
Good video - I had read the Yanmar diesel was a good cold starter with the glow plugs. Haven’t tried the Yanmar in my X750 in this cold yet…
Thanks! Those Yanmar diesels start right up if the glow plugs are good, but that gas Yanmar in the 322 was downright impressive! Thanks for watching!
The 490 sounds like a 3 cylinder shibora engine

They should have larger batteries, but I think all of these machines have a lawn and garden battery. 😂 I blame the guy I got them from.
