Great property that hotel was years behind schedule the original GM was to come from there former property in Berlin, he was in San Francisco while waiting for that project to move forward. Got tired of delays so opened the FS in Beirut instead. FS international hotels are great the north american properties vary greatly. Have you considered the Rosewood Hotel Chain, there building a property here in Napa Valley now and set a record on buying the rights to develop it so should be great.
yah, I should stay at Rosewood and Aman in the future. Rosewood have a new one Hong Kong which looks very nice at Victoria Harbour. Just that whenever I go somewhere the list is always FS/Ritz Carlton/Six Senses/Banyan Tree/Conrad etc before considering the other brands..
Yay!!! I was determined to have Peking Duck here - had to walk down to the Chinese restaurant downstairs to order as not on room service menu I saw. Really tasty - like crispy and oily just right on surface, really soft duck meat on inside. The restaurant served as they did - the fried rice was extra; I guess that's how they serve Peking Duck at FS (and 500 RMB - about 80 USD)...
The river did look nice, though frozen over. I was out touring during daytime so only here late afternoon/evenings - there was a mall next door I went to which had some of the craziest sealife in tanks for sale I saw, but otherwise didn't walk round much...
Shangri La China World Summit had a better Suite with better views. I emailed both Shangri La and Four Seasons about arranging tours to Forbidden City/Great Wall/Zoo/Summer Palace etc; Shangri La didn't reply, Four Seasons replied and said yes we'll sort it out. Luxury travellers love the Four Seasons...
@MrK which hotel chain would you rate the highest as an overall experience? Four Seasons? Shangri La? Ritz Carlton? St. Regis? Anantara? Just wanted to know which one should be the top priority?
Genting Higland di Malaysia...bukan punya saya...bukan punya keluarga saya........keluarga saya hanya pengusaha Hotel Resort kapal pesiar...restoran.....!!!!.jangan menuduh seenak jidat.......
Just love the city views could look at them for hours
yep, people watching is always nice on travels...

I'm glad the Peking duck quest bore fruit -- though they didn't serve the traditional accompaniments with it -- no scallion pancakes, etc?

You need to go to Los Angeles, Beverly Hills. Stay at the Penninsula. Cheers.
Agree. I stayed Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire and The Beverly Hills Hotel last time about 5 yrs ago; next visit will be The Peninsula...
@@MrKesavaraj Across the street from the Peninsula Beverly Hills is the brand new Waldorf Astoria. You can do both in the same trip! Cheers.
Cool... sounds like a plan...
Did you walk around that area a bit? The Kempinski is around the corner and I usually like to walk up and down the river which has a nice walkway.

The Ring Road system reminds me of the Beltway here in the DMV area -- wonder if the Chinese took a page out of the Eisenhower book?
or maybe everyone gravitates towards the same solution...
more food vids please
Peking Duck was great...
Where do u live? I am also going to Beijing this June same route in first class and same hotel I always watch ur videos before my trips
Enjoy your holiday... June is summer there and quite warm...
Yes but I live in India so I am use to it
Come visit Four Seasons Gammarth in Tunisia MrK :)
Would you prefer Four Seasons or the China World Summit Wing? I like the location of the latter better.

Dr K, would u be reviewing the Four Seasons Lodge at the Seringeti in Tanzania in the future?
yes, i've looked into the place, on the radar...
Mr. K -- I wanted to ask, are you looking into staying at the Aman hotels in China sometime in the future? They look absolutely breathtaking!
Yah, I must stay at Aman sometime - everyone says they are great... I nearly stayed at Aman Summer Palace here...
@MrK which hotel chain would you rate the highest as an overall experience?
Four Seasons?
Shangri La?
Ritz Carlton?
St. Regis?
Anantara?
Just wanted to know which one should be the top priority?
Those 5 you list are all up there. Often it depends on the particular Resort. Overall, my favourite is Four Seasons, but that's just my opinion...
minibar complemantry or not?
soft drinks free, alcohol chargeable. the sweets etc they don't normally bother charging even though on price list...
Fartfans aloha!
