As soon as I listened to Heavener I knew it was my AOTY. Even through all of the other releases after it this year, it still held that place in my heart. Glad to see others feel the same way!

I really struggle between choosing Invent Animate vs Sleep Token as my personal AOTY. I adore both but Invent just about comes up on top. Seeing then live in Bristol this year was one of the best experiences I've ever had

@@dyache Definitely, i havent seen them mentioned anywhere and i think they put out the best album of the year. might be the fact that they put it out so early in the year so no one remembers. maybe if they put out their next album in some november or december, people will see what they are

My album of the year is The Death We Seek by Currents, closely followed by Invent Animate’s Havener. Invent Animate was AOTY for the longest time, but Currents’ album simply sneaked to the top. The agressiveness just gave me more energy. Song of the year is Immolation of Night by Invent Animate. These guys are simply amazing. Man, this year was a blast for my favorite type of music.

Yup. Heavener is AOTY and it really isn’t even close. All killer no filler. Every song sounds so unique from the other. The riffs, the vocals, the breakdowns, its all perfect.

We had a great year in music, here's my top 5 albums:
1 - Periphery V
2 - Sleep Token TMBTE
3 - Tesseract War of Being
4 - Silent Planet - Superbloom
5 - Resolve - Human
Also, for next year, i feel like it's the comeback of Landmvrks and Make Them Suffer

I started getting into metalcore this year. It started of with Polaris and Currents and when heavener came out on my birthday that made me absolutely fall in love with the genre. Around the same time I've found your channel and loved finding new bands. Thanks for guiding me to a lot of great (and some of my new al time favorite) bands this year.
Wish more people loved Graphic Nature, such an awesome underrated band.
Sleep Token was personally my top but Invent was my number 2 so I'm not shocked it was down to those two. Shout out to Invent Animate because what a hell of a record.
Totally deserved for invent animate this year. My favorite album and 'without a whisper' is also my song of the year.
Excited for new loathe music also, but we said that last year also

2023 was one of the best years for metal music since like 2010. It was Absolutely stacked with amazing albums, and I’m glad your list was this good, thanks to the voters
What an awards show! Well done. I definitely found some new bangers to listen to.
The way i see it is that TMBTE is just a gorgeous album that fills a bunch of genres and is truly incredible listening. However, Heavener is 2020's metalcore thats been elevated to such a high level that its simply sensational. What a year for music
Invent, Sleep token and Currents were my top 3 this year and i may have argued Currents being #1 when it first came out but Heavner and Take me back to eden were just far and beyond everyone else and so im happy those two were so close in the voting
This year was amazing for metal, I’m so excited to see what comes next year

The greatest discovery for me this year was Normandie, especially their White Flag album. I will definitely keep an eye on them next year, they will release an album on February!
Also, Foxcult released outstanding EP
I got so tilted when I heard Superbloom not even in top 3, but really not surprised. The #1 release more than deserves its place though

The band “Downswing” is my greatest discovery of all time. Please give them a listen. They sound a lot like the band thrown. The songs bound to misery and kick rocks are very good
This was a banner year for metal and all cores within the genre. 2024 will be tough to follow.

Inevet Animate is such a great band, I've been getting more into them recently. However, my AOTY has to be The Noble Art Of Self Destruction by Holding Absence. That one still gives me chill every time. In second place is probably Suicide and Sunshine by Trophy Eyes.
So glad invent animate is getting their flowers heavener was my AOTY the moment I heard it ….
I really wanted to see war of being on the AOTY list but Heavener was also a phenomenal pick
So much amazing music this year! No seriously, I enjoyed this year way more than the last few. Congratulations to every band that was nominated and every band that won. Well deserved AOTY for Invent, Heavener is a beautiful piece of art and they were definitely the giants of music this year (along with ST).
For me personally, Earthside - Let The Truth Speak was the AOTY (I thought Heavener would not be beat but it happened) and my SOTY was Periphery - Wax Wings. Here's to more bangers in 2024!

Literally my Top Album's Of The Year are same order except Polaris is #4 and Tesseract is #3. Alot of people raved about Sleep Token this year and TMBTE is a fantastic album however Invent Animate's album Heavener I constantly go back too they really created something special and unique on this album and it's an easy decision for this to be my #1 of the year. For me personally slight changes I would make to some of the categories I would have put Tesseract as Comeback Of The Year & Loathe as Band To Watch In 2024. This was a great awards show Bogdan looking forward to next year's show and what new music 2024 will bring us! \m/
How was Buster not in the top 5 for Best Buzz?? Apart from that, great awards show!! Hope to se it again next year!

*Best Cover Art:* Invent Animate - Heavener. It's so beautiful.
*Best Music Video:* Invent Animate - Immolation of Night. The obvious inspiration from The VVitch is so cool.
*Best Breakthrough:* ANKOR. The first song of their comeback was released at the end of last year but dude, this band HASN'T. MISSED.
*Best Collaboration:* Not sure actually. None of the bands I actively listen to did any collabs this year. But, if I had to use something from the video, I'd go with Silent Planet.
*Best Comeback:* Ghost Atlas.
*Best Buzz:* Invent Animate again for me. I much prefer them over Sleep Token, and seeing everyone nerd out about Heavener was one of my favourite things this year.
*Band to Watch:* JINJER. They've definitely got something coming in 2024, it'll have been 3 years since the release of Wallflowers.
*Best EP:* Spiritbox - The Fear of Fear.
*Best Song:* AXTY - Six Feet Under. Rory Rodriguez except with more diverse screams, backed up by occasional technical djenty riffs and deathcore breakdowns? Count me tf in.
*Best Album:* Holding Absence - The Noble Art of Self Destruction. This album has CARRIED me these past few months.

Nah, all songs are angry and beautiful at the same time, with REALLY good grooves, they deserved it
This year was crazy for metalcore. I’ve had a love / hate relationship with the scene for awhile now, and while there has definitely been genre defining albums in the past few years, 2023 for me is the best year metalcore has had since 2018-2019. Mainly because because I got kinda burnt out and went looking for new sounds (mainly in the realm of prog) I still listened to metalcore albums and loved them, in fact The Dark Pool And Heroine by Thornhill, I Let It In... by Loathe, and Iridescent by Silent Planet are absolutely some of my favorite albums ever. But 2023 is the first year in awhile that metalcore has dominated my year over every other genre. Whether it be Sleep Token or Invent Animate or Silent Planet, this year was absolutely Insane. Hoping for new Loathe, Thornhill, Bmth, Dayseeker, and Aviana next year!
Also I’m gonna see Silent Planet / Thornhill / and Aviana all for the first time and I am beyond excited.

Man really wish imminence was voted for music video of the year. I feel like they have the best videos by far. And already knew it would be between invent animate and sleep token for album of the year. I feel like sleep token had some stronger songs but some that really don't hit for me. There isn't a single song on heavener that I'd have a desire to skip past. Absolutely my album of the year
