When the doctor found no heartbeat (did not know I carried twins), because they couldn’t perform “an abortion) even with dead babies inside me, I had to carry them for three weeks until my body expelled them, they had already begin to decompose inside me. I could have died because of exposure of dead tissue of sepsis leaving a husband, a five year old and three year old. Honestly “How awful are our politicians.” 😡
As a former hospital employee where abortions were performed, removing dead babies is not an abortion. An abortion ends a life: it aborts a life. Your doctor was incompetent.
The Democrats are dishonest and you people are too ignorant. The ban doesn't prevent abortions in the case of rape, incest, and medical necessities like what you went through. For months that liar Janet Protosiewics ran ads saying that it would, but then when I went to vote, that's NOT what it said on the ballot. Just another typical lying Democrat.

Agreed but I think the conversation is about the legislature then. The courts have been left to decide everything so they have lower but by default. The real story is that the legislature doesn’t do anything

😄 Imagine a female judge saying: "Okay, you want to strike down access to Mifepristone for women? Well, I'm going to take away viagra."😆 That would almost certainly reduce pregnancy.
As long as men can obtain a vasectomy without government approval, women should have the same sovereignty over their bodies without any laws written about their pregnancy.
As long as women can get birth control and abortion access than men shouldn't be forced to be fathers by threat of theft through government appeoval the same way women shouldn't be forced to give birth to an unwanted child.
A Vasectomy and an abortion aren't the same thing. The equivalent of a vasectomy for women is a hysterectomy (getting their tubes tied) and women do have access to that. I'm pro-choice but I hate shitty arguments and your argument is shitty and it isn't doing anyone any favours except the anti-abortion crowd that wants to make your side look dumb.
The abortion problem is easily solved. All we have to do is harvest and freeze sperm from males, as soon as they are able to produce it, then give them all vasectomies. Sperm harvesting and vasectomies are much safer procedures than abortions, and far less dangerous than pregnancy and childbirth. With my solution, we can eliminate nearly all unwanted pregnancies. It is clearly the best solution; unless men don’t want others telling them what they can do with their own bodies.
Yeah, ban Viagra, I’ve been saying that all along..men would be outraged. Along with making vasectomy mandatory after the age of 40. A nation that can’t get it up…
@@krotchlickmeugh627 Her point went WAY over your head. The point being that Republican abortion policy and treatment of women would fit right in to Germany in 1932. Understand that abortion via medication is always very early in a pregnancy and is safer for the woman, greatly reducing surgical procedure or what people call "late term" abortion.
@@ameliam7898 The drug of choice for an ectopic pregnancy is methotrexate, but it has to be given at 6 weeks or under, assuming you actually know you have an ectopic pregnancy that early. Most women don't even know they are pregnant then.
It's not just used for abortions. It's used to treat women experiencing medical complications during a miscarriage, or ectopic pregnancy. Banning it will kill women.
@@Kindisbetter Thanks for mansplaining! Super helpful! 🙄However, your comment is incomplete. In the case of an ectopic pregnancy, yes, methotrexate is often used, not mifepristone. Yay for you. Feeling superior? Now, let’s get into some facts. Nearly 10% of all pregnancies will end in miscarriage, 80% of which are in the first trimester. And while an ectopic pregnancy will likely result in a miscarriage, most miscarriages occur for a number of different reasons. And mifepristone has been used by doctors for 20 years now to help women expel a miscarriage. While it is not the only method, it is one of the more accessible, effective, and safe methods. I am someone who had to undergo surgery when I miscarried, and it was awful. If I could have taken a pill and miscarried at home surrounded by my loved ones, I would have in a second. And I could explain to you the whole host of reasons mifepristone is preferable, but I don’t have time. Now, since you are so interested in facts, I recommend the paper “Medication to Manage Abortion and Miscarriage” published in the National Library of Medicine which explains in great detail how and why mifepristone is critical. I’m not sure why you felt compelled to point out that commenter was wrong. Perhaps it’s because you believe it’s perfectly ok for mifepristone to be banned, and you are certainly entitled to your terrible opinion. But the point this poster was making is not wrong. And you left that part out. We already have a crisis in this country when it comes to access to women’s health. A ban on mifepristone will indeed harm and possibly even cause death.
One of Bill's first comments is the question I've been wanting to know the answer to. How can one judge in one County of one State disrupt Nationwide access to a product that has been used in a safe and legal means by Dr.s and patient's in the U.S. for more than 20 years?
It was rushed thru approval by the FDA, one of the most corrupt government agencies controlled by Big Pharma and Big Food/Sugar. They waived normal protocols for minors. This should have been done decades ago. "Safe" is an easily manipulated term with drug stats.
The answer is that it does not. By law a decision from the bench only applies to the parties before the judge. But judges have assumed the power to apply their rulings outside the case (a power they were never given), and for a federal district court judge they’ve assumed the power to apply their rulings outside their district as well. This usurpation hasn’t been challenged because politicians have been trying from the beginning to get around the limits on their power imposed by the Constitution and this is one way to do that.
Family planning is also a law and order issue because long term studies have shown that unwanted, neglected and abused children are more likely to be involved in crime as young adults. A decade or so after Roe v. Wade, there was a significant reduction in crime that was attributed to a woman's right to decide their own family planning and a reduction in unwanted children. Freakonomics did a podcast on this very issue.
This is what eugenics propagates. Most of them had children but tell others...only a life of crime and poverty awaits should 2 ppl (parents) take responsibility for their actions and have mercy on their unborn child by letting baby live outside the womb. It's fake news. They've conned so many and eradicated over 70 million of our most vulnerable little ones.
Nothing draconian about the policy at all. If women don't want kids, teach them to not be sluts and keep their legs closed. Simple as that. Good for Ron DeSantis ignoring the liberal crowd.
What about all the years when pregnancy was down and abortion was up ? (Viagra or not) I don’t think the stats would necessarily support your claim on this one. They could tho? Just not sure what to conclude from the false equivalency either way it shakes out.
@@johngranato2673 I totally get the humor that could be found in the concept there. Just wanted to follow up and point out the intrinsic logical error in the idea. I don't see any side of the American system as being pro-democracy at this point. It seems like both sides enjoy being authoritarian they just disagree on what topics to be so about.
A democracy takes account of the minority viewpoint, while being led by the majority viewpoint. The US is a Majoritarianism (which Maddison warned about) that has descended into a Minotarianism with some Fascism-lite sprinkled in. The "Left" in the US is the "Centre" in Europe.
The 1st amendment says ""Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" That's it. Nothing more and nothing less. separation of church and state is something a progressive Supreme Court came up with in the early 1900s. As a matter of fact in the early 1800s the largest church in the western hemisphere was in the U.S. capitol building.

I can't imagine denying a woman cancer treatment until she's done carrying a baby, and I know for certain that chemotherapy isn't fetus-friendly. Although, on the flip side, I can't imagine not letting her _choose_ if she _wants_ to keep her baby by waiting. It's her _choice._ I don't want any part of that decision. I don't care if it's cancer or whatever the reason, if a woman says she isn't ready to give birth, I believe her.

Mr. Morgan was right to look at Viagra. There was a little cartoon many years ago showing two seperate lines to a pharmacy counter, one for viagra and the other for the abortion pill...the line for viagra was a straight line, no obstacles, well lit, easy access, while the line for the abortion pill was a maze, full of obstacles, dark corners, you catch my drift. The obvious hypocracy was abysmal.
I wish more people would acknowledge that there are gradations in between pro life and pro choice. I personally believe that first trimester abortions are fine, but you need a good excuse for an abortion in 2nd or 3rd trimester.
To avoid people getting to emotionally invested in the debate (pro or con), we should talk about family planning and contraceptives. The best way to avoid abortions is to give people access to education about how to practice safe sex, how to use contraceptives and make them easily accessible (financially and legally, especially tube tying and the Plan B pill). Less unwanted pregnancies = less abortions and less kids in foster care. Also less poverty and crime. So win for everyone. Ok, can't stop myself to be emotional on the topic. To the self-proclaimed "pro-life", no one is forced to get an abortion. You are against it? Cool, don't do it. But stay the fuck out of the business of people who need it. We don't force you to abort, who are you to force someone to go through a whole pregnancy? What do you know about their circumstances? Their mental and physical health? Their family situation? Getting an abortion is not an easy decision, who are you to make other people miserable over a personal decision that has no consequence whatsoever on you?
Yes/No. Poverty is directly linked to birth rate. Every advanced economy has a declining birth rate. The only think propping them up is immigration. A point is coming where the population will plateau and then begin declining. Governments are not ready for it, and are not planning for it.
People living in abortion-restrictive states earn $3.75 less per hour than their counterparts in states where abortion is legal, according to a new report by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). The report also found that restrictive states incarcerate people at 1.5 times the rate of protected states. “There is strong empirical evidence that abortion denial and abortion bans have negative economic consequences, from prolonged financial distress to lower wages and earnings, employment, educational attainment and economic mobility.
If you want to avoid the economic consequences, teach women to keep their legs closed unless they're financially ready to have kids. Teach women not to be sluts. Simple as that.
I loved when Katie Porter called them out for sounding like old men and Bill Maher got so triggered! That is ironic given that he was generalizing the stupidity of young people right before that. Hypocrite much? She started to call him on it but he pretty much ignored her.
My mother , my aunts and friends of theirs told me absolute horrendous stories from back when the communism regime in Romania had banned abortions. I sadly see the USA , " the land of freedom", heading that way . Those that do not learn from history are absolutely doomed to repeat it. No government has the right to tell any woman if she should or should not have a baby . That is such a personal decision. The doctors should always be allowed to do their jobs and protect the mother's health ( mental and physical) and unless you are a woman and went through these things yourself I would refrain from having an opinion or telling us you are 'pro life' because you're simply a hypocrite that likes to pretend to care about "the children".
There's two ways to look at something. The right way and the wrong way. You chose poorly. The GOP approves of your constitutional rights. Including the one that people can come on here and say stupid things. They also approve of the laws that are on the books to be enforced which they are not which just one of many why new laws won't work.
Republic simply means the lack of monarchy. Iran is a republic. China is a republic. USSR was a republic. Khmer Rouge's Cambodia was a republic. Taliban's Afghanistan is a republic. Meanwhile UK, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Japan, even Canada and Australia are not. Yeah, it does indeed make a difference, doesn't it? 🤣

Otherwise, politically, I think she's a superstar.
I feel this shows how far religion has seeped into the systems that should be balanced and unbiased. America is under threat from religion and those with a religious agenda who have gotten elected into office, and been appointed to the bench. The kicker though, is that according to the data, those who oppose abortion the most are those religious people who are also using it the most. They are in battle with their own actions vs. beliefs and they are taking the country hostage because of it.

@@ZimCrusherYou think you did something here, but you did not.
"female"? I have never heard of such a thing; men can have abortions too.
Get your tubes cut & tied. That's your body. An abortion is the babies body
Women can still cut their ovaries out, they just can't cut a baby out.

It's already killed one woman with an ectopic pregnancy.

Fededal judge's rulings can apply nationwide.

Someone being of a particular religion doesnt automatically equate to them sharing every belief of that religion.
The reason the majority of people who get abortions are of a particular religion is because the majority of people in the country are of a particular religion. So its just a simple case of law of averages.

In answer to Bill’s question, he destroyed both last names of the judges…. 😂 😊
Piers and Maher actually talking sense?
In my state, Kansas, a bill to update the state constitution was almost solely the work of some very wealthy catholics in Wichita. Catholicism is for some reason now much more willing to use money to control this issue - and they did some nasty things in Kansas. That not only is a huge turn off for belonging to that religion but shows just how much the interference in politics by any religion is truly unacceptable.
Thank goodness for the Catholic Church. The only truly moral voice on the subject of the intrinsic value of the innocent unborn human. Good for them for throwing money to stop this unthinkable evil in o our society. Unfortunately evil won in Kansa from what I hear. Sad.
@@malice836 Morality and the Catholic Church should never be used in the same sentence freaking perverts everywhere!!

@Scott Garner Correct. The Catholic Church has absolutely zero moral authority, zero.
She said “his or herself”.
But that seems misleading. It’s really for herself. No one’s pushing for an end to mandatory child support.
I am definitely pro choice. But the other side picks up on word choices like this.
No, she means that men can get pregnant too.
Didn't Bill say this wouldn't happen?
women have been jailed for 3 months on suspicion of pregnancy in alabama, mississippi, tennessee
If you add Florida these would be good places to start MTG’s national divorce.
This is insane.
People get pregnant in those states all the time. Somehow, I don't doubt there's context missing here.
Just out of curiosity, are the Viagra numbers based on people who get from their doctors or does it include the illegal use too?
Good point since the fake Viagra many get is very dangerous.
? You can get Viagara by prescription legally. Funny if more men could get pregnant, we would not be having this "debate."
Fun Fact: The US military spends about $100m a year on viagra.
But we also have to acknowledge that noone is forcing ppl to get pregnant
I genuinely hope everyone that wants a abortion gets one. I hope it keeps the numbers down. I'd hate to see their genetic line continue.
this episode was so disappointing if you are a fan of Katie Porter (I am) she got destroyed by Morgan and Bill they were willing to accept the nuances required for certain debates on women's rights and it was just sad. She didn't seem to understand the root argument was and misconstrued not only them but even contradicted herself at one point. I love her and hope she can gain some wisdom from this experience because as smart as she is she seemed to have these blinders on.
So glad I saw this episode so I now know not to vote for her. No nuance. No smarts. Just woke brigade idiocy.
@@6198mark And she is said to be very abusive to others.
I was a big fan of Katie Porter, she used 2b on point&direct. I was hoping she would take Feinstein’s sit. 😢this was pretty bad. So bad, Piers Morgan came off looking good(that’s not an easy feat). The quip about the 2guys being old,.. totally uncalled for. It was a panel, she had ample time to make her point why go down that road….
Totally missed the point on the discussion about ⚧️ sports participation etc…
What did she get “destroyed by Morgan” on? She said exactly what she’s been saying over her entire political career, she was clear and concise and didn’t get hysterical, and she made her points then let others make theirs. What exactly did you want her to do, talk/yell over everyone and act a fool like what has become the norm these days? Please. I wish I lived in California so I could vote for this woman.
@@RasTona_ That's my EXACT point. How do people not understand that? During a conversation that was against discriminations of all forms and she calls the "old" thats AGEISM contradicting everything you said. You should watch the show we run we'd love to have more non biased people that can see both sides of the coin and how bad we are getting screwed
I was educated as a nurse in Florida, and practiced there for two years. Half of my cohort has already left the state for better paying job opportunities, and now I'm hearing that many of the other half are leaving over this nonsense. Not because of abortion, but because of ongoing regulations, such as abortion restriction laws, that are aimed at them and the physicians that they work with. You want to talk about witch hunts? All that someone needs to do to ruin your life is for someone to tell the police that you are doing abortions. No need to prove it either. Just the overnight security on your building calling you to tell you that you were served a warrant.
And who can blame them? Let these MAGAt Christo-facists pray their sick away.
You are so right, and it’s all a part of their attacks on science, education, and higher learning. Instead of going after women having abortions - which could look bad to some of their less heartless supporters - they go after the doctors and other healthcare professionals because they know ALL their supporters will approve taking down the “know-it-all,” “liberal college educated” “elitists” that they consider anyone with an education to be.

It’s about controlling people.
Saving people from selfish, ignorant women.*
Correct, if a woman attempts to murder her unborn child then her bodily autonomy needs to be taken away. The government has the authority to control her and do whatever is necessary to make sure the baby is safe. Simple as that.
@Moses King and yet if that same baby is dying of kidney disease or leukemia the government would not force the father to donate blood or kidney or marrow to save it. A man and a woman both make the same choices but only one of them has to go through a 9month drastic medical condition With symptoms that include massive weight gain, swelling of the hands and feet, hemorrhoids, morning sickness, stretch marks gas, loss of bladder control, constipation, fatigue, not to mention the hours of agony of labor itself and let's not forget Post pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, incontinence, vaginal tearing, possible prolapse, postpartum depression, etc. Whereas the man who made the exact same choices, he's not even obligated to donate a tiny bit of his own blood to save the baby's life if it needed it. How is that equal?
Katie Porter got *destroyed* during the transgender debate 😂
I came here to say just that and that I didn’t agree with her on that one bit. That subject was wrong on many levels an she disagrees with it. I wouldn’t vote for her
I don't know, I thought it was bullshit that Bill and Piers complain about democrats playing identity politics on a subject about identity while at the same time going on and on about how women's rights are being taken away and taking up the entire time so that Porter couldn't get a word in edgewise.

@@AKHill-gj2uy That has nothing to do with what I posted. And you are not paying for their healthcare, at least not in US.
Katie's right, per usual. These restrictions will ONLY pertain to women who lack the means to travel where safe legal termination CAN be done. The "bans on travel" are moot, unless another law is enacted to force women to submit reports on their monthly cycles, too.
