But for real, I'm so thankful for Bobbi bc she was one of the few/ only people that welcomed me to a new school/country where I didn't speak the language. So Bobbi, thank you-- you were a huge part of my childhood, and I am eternally thankful for all the memories we made together.

Meeting with your estranged bestie after 15 years just makes me think about how much easier relationship building would be if we treated most people like we already knew them. You and your friend have to be near-strangers at this point in your lives but it was so easy connect bc in general, we all have so much in common and you two expected to have a great time together. I think that unspoken “trust” that exists here but kinda “shouldn’t” -actually should exist in all of our new beginnings and second meetings. You’ve got to be somewhat trusting to explore relationships w curiosity and we spend so much time being defensive and weary of the people around us that we lose that effortlessness in connection. As an Indian I feel so happy that Tina tried Bombay's most famous street food, "vada pav" The one which you ate didn't look quite authentic and street food style but atleast you got the idea of how vada pav would taste.
