I watched the Boogens many times on the pay cable channels back in the 80s. I didn't know anything about the making of the film, I just thought it was a fun little monster movie. "...small underground lake." That's a pool. It's too tiny for the classification of being a lake. As for rushing into married, normally it's a recipe for disaster. The couple from the film were one of the lucky few that worked out fine. If you had the old HBO box with the turn dial on the front, there were plenty of ways to unscramble the channels.

Also, congrats on 300k subs.
Thanks!
I can't believe this got a namedrop on "Newhart"...
The Boogens was one of the dopiest movies we had ever seen. I think we went back to watch it maybe five or six times, taking additional friends with us. You knew it wasn't going to be in the movie theaters long, so we saw it as much as we could. Twice on dollar night!
Not sure why but I had a feeling you'd get around to this one. Another great vid!
As a kid I was confused for the longest time because Jessica looked JUST LIKE Wendy from Prom Night but obviously wasn't because Wendy's name was Eddie Benton. Derp. Took far too long to work out the name change but would still love to know why she settled on Anne-Marie Martin.
Thanks!
Fun Fact: 'Chariots of the Gods' and it's author are the reason we have the masterpiece "Ancient Aliens".
I used to watch Erichs documentaries which inspired me to get the book Chariots of the Gods.. It’s fascinating theories he has that allegedly cannot be disproven
Then real science overtook Erich von Daniken's racist theories, he faded into obscurity, then the popularity of pseudoscience gave him a 2nd career.
He should be thrown in jail for crimes against humanity.
Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I agree! This is a obscure horror film that you CAN'T remake! It's awesome the way it is!
I remember the commercials for this on TV for its theatrical release. It scared the crap out of little kid me!! It advertised every day multiple times leading up to the release date. I never forgot it!
😂😂😂 i literally saw that Chariots of the Gods' is available on youtube just 3 or 4 days ago. It has been recommended every single time I load youtube or refresh it during these 3 days.
The week before the CotG rec, I was innundated with Hanger 18 recs.
Great video! I remember this one from the early 2000's in the dying days of video stores. Not great, but a damn sight better than most of the garbage that Taft wanted to emulate.
Everybody reading this should go and treat themselves to some Sledge Hammer!
I had wondered what had happened to Rebecca Balding. She was on her way to being a scream queen with leading roles in Silent Scream and The Boogens, then kind of disappeared from the big screen. I always loved The Boogens. I try to watch it every winter. A good low key monster movie.
Glad you're back
I know that Taft star swirl from old 1980's Hanna-Barbera and Ruby-Spears cartoons
When I was a kid in the 80s, as a movie nerd I would audio tape movies to listen to later, even if I had them on VHS. I just loved movies lol and I still do.
Thank you for all your hard work - this is brilliant as always.
Thanks for watching!
What's up Cecil watching your review again of this because I just picked up the 4K from Kino of the Boogens. Great video.
Glad your back man!
:)
Great video! Welcome back.
I watched this movie as a teenager when it appeared on Cinemax, I think. And I believe I still have that copy of Twilight Zone magazine where King's review, Digging The Boogans, appeared. Thanks for the background, and taking me back to simpler days.
