"Hippies & Cowboys" written by :
Cody Jinks (BMI, Late August Publishing)
LYRICS
Well, I started on the whiskey pretty early this morning
That's alright, I was up all night
But I passed out before the sun came up
I really wanted to see one of those
I know that's no way for a man to behave
With a mortgage due, and a baby on the way
But somehow I made it to where I'm at
It's been a living as a matter of fact
I get a bad attitude from being tired and running 'round
I never ask for anyone to say they like my sound
I've never been a part of any musical scene
I ain't just talking Nashville, if you know what I mean
They don't write about me in their magazines
And I don't ask for no reviews on the songs that I sing
I never had a lot of friends and I'm alright by that
But people keep on coming back
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
They don't care about no trends
They don't care about songs that sell
Yeah, tomorrow I'll be gone
So tonight everybody just sing along
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
I've been standing on the outside for all of my life
But I like the view, I'm not gonna lie
Yeah, the yuppies and the hipsters and the wannabe scenes
That ain't down-home to me
I like two dollar beers, I like three dollar wells
At some old honkytonk bar that I know by the smell
Some old drunk on a barstool on a Merle Haggard tune
That's my kind of room
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
They don't care about no trends
They don't care about songs that sell
Yeah, tomorrow I'll be gone
So tonight everybody just sing along
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
They don't care about no trends
They don't care about songs that sell
Yeah, tomorrow I'll be gone
So tonight, everybody just sing along
Raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys
And I'll be raising hell with the hippies and the cowboys

Dude that solo when he gave respect to the steel guitar play pure perfection
Right freaking awsome and something you don't hear from everyone in country, hell or at all makeing it chef's kiss special
6:23 That must be a hell of a feeling for him. He's put in years of hard work playing all kinds of venues. And here he is, playing at one of the most famous venues in there is with his fans all singing along to his music. He must have felt so many emotions.
Hell yeah man. Red rocks is a commercial venue with a bottom line and profit to make, but these types of interactions between the band and the musicians are really priceless. Live music is where it's at.
You already know - he made it
Absolutely right ❣️🤠😎
On my bucket list is to see a show at Red Rocks. I can't imagine PLAYING there!

If you are able to look below the surface, we are truly amid one of the best eras of music in decades. Talents like Cody Jinks (and many others) are prevailing despite "Big Radio".
Absolutely! Ray Scott is the absolute best. Tyler Childers, Billy Strings. Man it's a great time to love amazing country music!
Can we have the ‘70s back? This is looking promising indeed. Love this
Exactly Jeff. 👍🏻
Hell yeah. In so many genres we are living through a period that will be remembered. I feel likes it’s part of this “new” tech age finally coming fruition with folks my age and younger (30-40) and the last couple decades of musics between good music. Not to stay here hasn’t been good music between 1990 and 2020, but it’s pretty hit and miss. Plus’s, all this artist now CAN get their music out easier. Can’t wait to listen back on the likes of like Cody Jinks, Chris Stapleton, etc etc and see if I still thinking them like the greats I think of like Waylon, Pride, Prine, Coe, Travis, etc etc.
I agree, the day I found Sturgil was the day I say him live in a small bar in GR and that led me to Cody, Whitey, Alex and many others!!!!!
Most real, sincere appreciation of a crowd I've ever seen. That's the man right there.
You got that right he is the man oh, hell yeah
@@andreichukanov4180 YES!!!
Then you've never seen AC/DC playing at River Plate Stadium
I’ve met him in person. He is amazing. Like truly amazing. Sat outside his tourbus bullshitting for like 30 minutes. I happened to be walking to my car and he was just chillin, bullshitting with fans. Even got his signature tattooed on my arm. That actually helped me get my first successful relationship and my fiancé. She thought the story of me meeting him and the tattoo was so interesting she gave me a shot. So thank you Cody! If you see this you’re invited to my wedding!
Real deal.
An outlaw from nowadays.
Always great performance...great songs and a strong voice.
I'm old school rock and roll guy for 45 years...this guy is insanely great...incredible lyrics...great band...and Cody is off the charts. Love this guy's music.
He was in a rock band a while back before the county 🤘🏽
It may be Rock, but it sure ain't Country.
@@tdeath9813 we got a hater
I fell in love with the way he carries himself. He's my favorite singer now. Waylon is my all-time favorite, but this guy is awesome. He is now my #1 singer. I'm very old school, but this guy really has it going on for himself.
😊
At the end when Cody is just taking in the awe of Red Rocks and the crowd there for him is such a humbling moment. I'm so incredibly proud for him and his success. Real country. Mic Drop!
Thank you mr cody j.
Can we talk about how badass everyone on that stage was
My God I just cant believe that this song wasnt a Bilboard number 1 hit that vocal and the band just fucking blows me away
Just fucking blue 💙 away 💖🙌❤️🔥🙏👉🥰♾️🪽🫶
Yes total bad ass the best real country music with yes a steel guitar in the band. Let’s keep him off the radio and just to us !!!
They don’t care about trends they don’t care about songs that sell
They're too real.
Live versions of songs like this one, gives fuel to a fire that has been dimmed for a while.. if you know you know. Especially when he meant when he said, " I don't ask for no reviews on the songs I sing".. love how the drummer gets into it during the final solo.
I have never seen so many cargo shorts, white new balance's and flannels under one roof.
Head to a softball diamond some weekend. We trade in the flannel for team T-shirts.
I absolutely love Cody Jinks...he seems so humble & approachable to his fans.
This AWESOME man has NOT put out one bad song...every song he puts out seems so real, heart-felt & sincere!!!
He put EVERYTHING HE HAS into every concert for the fans, & you can feel it, see it, & you can tell it!!!
Much love from Mobile Alabama
I'm with u brother. Army Veteran Waco Texas 🤠✌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love how at the end you look around and you have such a humble but inspired look on your face

Mark opened this show.
Chris Clarity is one of the guitar players that can make his guitar sound like a steel.....That was an impressive show
Nothing like a steel guitar ❤
Best version of this song on the internet. Love the faster tempo.
3:53 is a big Cody fan.
The revival of real music is refreshing 🤘
Jinks kills it no doubt, but the dude on the steel guitar and dude on the keys literally murder this one.

I have this on a shirt. It's my favorite shirt. I had it for months before I heard this song.
I love the song too.
At the end Cody looks amazed that everybody was there to see him and was having a blast…. That’s why he is as good as he is…. It does go to his head and he still listens to his fans

My dad loved country music and especially the blues. This song has so much going on but yet is so original. I wish he was here to hear it, he would've loved it! I came across it on Pandora and i FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!! Bravo! If this song was a few years older I'd bet money Kurt Sutter would've played this on Sons of anarchy! Keep ROCKIN BOYS

Yeah, his face at the end says it all. In his mind, he must know that what he is doing is what we want. Hopefully, He, Tyler Childers, Midland, Colter Wall, and John Pardi will be able to take back the genre.
Esse SHOW ficou top! Valeu! ❤
