Recently did a New Granada->Gran Colombia->Andes Federation run too, took Peru and Chile as subjects early for infamy and annexed Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela directly. By the time I got Pan-Nationalism, Chile & Peru had already formed their unique cultures and their capitals removed South Andean homelands. So when I formed the federation, both of them were left with 1 province in their capitals (Chile also with Patagonia). I'm still incredibly annoyed that this makes unifying South America unnecessarily harder again. Legitimately the best way to unite South America is to start outside of it and annex it as a random subject, instead of actually playing there
A good strat i did my last game is to dominion or puppet Ecuador, then feed them all of the peruvian states (you need to conquer acre to have access to the south) Ecuador will incorporate most of them, so when you get nationalism and form Gran Colombia you instantly annex all of Ecuador(including all of peru except lima) radical and infamy free, all the states are even incorporated if you delay nationalism a bit.
@@butifarras yes, this is a good strat to form iberia - seize four states from spain and rush pan nat, then give them back their states, make them a puppet immediately then form

i love how despite taking place just 5 years after the fall of gran colombia you cant form gran colombia until you research nationalism

I guess this would be a good strategy for all unifications, just feed all the states you want to your puppet from others subjects and just unify later
