It's starting to look more like a proper model railway now! The bridge is definitely an exercise in making a feature of a fault... I hope my secret plan works 😅 Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks! Yeah the arches do look really impressive. With TT being a smaller scale we managed to fit quite a few in which makes the stretch look really quite substantial! Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks! Yeah two great brands who I've had the pleasure of working with. I order a lot of Rapido stuff from Derails myself as I do only tend to recommend retailers that I actually use myself. Thanks for watching 😃
They really add a lot to the layout don't they! Sounds awesome, it never fails to amaze me the creative ideas that people come up with in this hobby. Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks Ronny! It's good to finally have some scenics on this upper level and the layout is starting to feel a lot more complete now with small patches to fill in. Thanks for watching 😃
I do love this stage of the build as after months of wiring and setting things up, you really start seeing really big visual changes happening to a layout. Thanks for watching 😃
The layout is really starting to come together! I’ve actually been using TMC and Derails to order TT:120 scale models for my table, too! Although, it is taking a bit long to come, given I’m from the US.
If you don’t mind, how long is stuff taking to arrive for you? I bought tt stuff from Sheffield and it’s been a week, and they haven’t started shipping. Meanwhile hornby gets stuff to my door in 5 days
loving the tt120 layout, you have expired me to build a tt120 layout, but i am going to start building my tt120 layout in 2025, the magnets you used for the rump to the station will it work on a analogue layout, are you going to try a other scale in the future, keep up the good work, loving the video's i always stay up all night watching them. can't wait for the next video.
Hi there, yes the Powerbase will work with any form of control so is fine to use on DC analog. All it does is use magnets to pull the locos down into the track so the control system you're using doesn't factor into it. Thanks for watching 😃
Hello lovely video but I was just thinking that with the terminus station do you not need a turntable as the Tt 120 steam locos you have don’t have a front coupling? Thanks for the great content
There's no space on the upper level for a turntable I'm afraid but the A4 and A3 can simply take a trip round the reversing loop instead. Thanks for watching 😃
Hi looking better every video, I’m looking for a triple tunnel in tt. Been looking at a metcalfe 00 double tunnel with a bit of modification as the width is right.
The layout is looking great! The 3D printing caught my attention! What printer do you use? Also you mentioned it’s resin. How do you manage the ventilation for that? I have an FDM printer because of the fumes resin creates
Hopefully we'll be doing more 3D printing videos in the future, there's some exciting developments happening behind the scenes at the moment! The bridge was printed on an Elegoo Mars 4 which has a built in carbon filter. I'm pretty careful about fumes so I have a full on mask that I wear when the uncured resin is exposed and an air monitor running beside the printer too. So far the fumes have been fine and it's only really when I'm removing prints from the build plate that the levels start to go up. What does cause them to spike quite drastically though is the IPA needed for cleaning finished prints so I'm exploring the possibility of using water washable resin to avoid this. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy cool can’t wait to see more! Thanks for the information, I think I’ll probably stick to FDM though, partly just to be safe and also because the print quality really is coming a long way!!
This isn't anything do do with this video but i was thinking of ways i can have a layout switch bord and i come to signal boxs and was thinking is it possible to hide the switches inside a building and i cant fined anything on ways you could have a switch bord
I've seen it done a few times in the past, the issue is the scale/size. If you think about how small a building is in 00 gauge you don't really have the space for a full control panel inside one. You'd most likely need to put it inside a large warehouse unless you only have a couple of points. You could add the switches directly to the baseboard then create the building around it later on with an open side. Or you could have the switches be on the back of a building with all the electrics inside - so the front would be scenic but the rear side would be flat with the control panel on. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 👍
Thanck you for the help. you have given me an idea I have about 7 points and a large signal box on the edge of my layout and i am going to scratch build it so I am going to have the switches inside with the back open with magics and the roof open with the layout plan on it and a second layout plan on the wall behind it with the LEDs and numbers of what point is for what switch
That Model Railroad Guy, I truly enjoy watching your videos. I live in Michigan, USA, and model O scale. Just wondering if you are willing to make and sell your brick wall in “O” scale? I am interested. From: Arlin
Really glad you're enjoying it. Currently there's no plans to make the retaining walls in O. At the moment we're focused on supporting TT:120 as it's still quite a new scale in the UK so there's not a huge amount available for it at the moment. Thanks for watching 😃
Streams can be difficult to get right as they generally need to be lower than the railway which involves cutting away parts of the baseboard. Never say never but it's a bit more involved. I did originally have plans for a river on my 00 gauge layout. Thanks for watching 😃
Yes he is. There's a lot of discussion behind the scenes about how he wants it to look and what he wants me to do in specific areas. It's very much all his decision, I just do the physical work. Thanks for watching 😃
You know, I never want to use any stuff from companies. I mostly use DIY stuff. Instead of continuously using Woodland Scenics, how about showing us how to make grass and foilage and stuff you'd normally get from them? (I'm sorry, but sometimes I wished there was DIY stuff videos. You get a lot of stuff commercially).
So I feel like it's worth giving a proper response to this rather than just fobbing you off with a short reply. The simple answer of course is that there's no obligation to use the same products I use. While I do have plans for videos on how to make scenic materials yourself (which I've alluded to in this series) these episodes are already fairly lengthy so there just isn't time to go into detail on how to make every single thing from scratch. Furthermore, a lot of beginners watch this channel who won't have the skill or interest in making their own materials. Those with more confidence and experience usually already know where they can make their own substitutions. But ultimately it comes down to time. This layout has gone from nothing to almost complete in a matter of months. If I had unlimited time, yeah maybe it would be more feasible but when trying to stick to a tight filming schedule it's not realistic to make everything from scratch just to please a minority. And of course it's worth pointing out that the retaining walls, tunnel and bridge were made from scratch at home in this episode so it's hardly like I ONLY use commercial products. Thanks for watching 👍
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy Yeah, your Modular Model Railway, your Suitcase Railway and even this one, they were all built on a time limit. I have two requests for separate videos, One; To create grass and Two; to create trees. I’m not begging, but I do know that your channel is the best to come for model railways! Very great video!
Wow! The layout is really starting to come together. I can't wait to see what you do with the broken bridge!

Fantastic progress on the layout, I love the archways. that's a nice little touch, and the bridge looks very effective as well. Great job 😀

Beautiful and thanks for sharing!
Thanks, really glad you enjoyed it! A long way to go with this layout yet but it's getting there. Thanks for watching 😃
This is really looking brilliant! Well done. Look the tie up with Derails too. I tend to order everything Rapido with them.

What a big change to the layout
The arches really do make a huge difference to the overall look! And being TT, having so many makes it feel like a huge expanse. Thanks for watching 😃
Just a thought. Why not put magnets in your retaining walls to keep them in place? Easy to remove but secure when moving the layout etc
That’s actually exactly what I have done 😉 Thanks for watching 👍

The signal box I'm going for is one verry similar to the signal box in kingswere, Dartmouth so it should be big enough for about 9 swiches
