Individuality enhances responsibility of thought and accountability, rather than follow dogmatic ideals. Exercising democracy instead of the majority rule by instilling fear or exploitation of the masses. Thank you Bertrand Russell.

How do we know we don't just have impulses to do wierd human shit. The sense of accomplishment makes you feel good so you'll toil through bad feelings to get good accomplishment impulse.

He is incorrect about the pyramids, they were not the product of slave labour but community. A generation of workers, with their makeshift town made especially for them, with food and resources provided by the pharaoh, volunteering towards a sheared goal. That it was slave labour is a long held misconception.

I wonder whether Russell is influenced by the accounts of Egypt found in the Old Testament? It was for more than a millennium the primary account of life under the Pharoahs, to Western Civilisation, and much of the imagery involving the whipping of slave labour, in monumental construction, comes from Jewish History.

Yes pyramids could not have been built with pain, suffering and fear. Moreover the whole farming workforce, which was practically everyone, was out of work when the Nile flooded each year. This is when they had gainful employment on the public works.
Most of the food for the entire Mediterranean came from the Nile delta so Egypt was very wealthy. That is how they could afford Pyramids and pay the farmers.

Dude He wasn't as black and white as he presents himself. If he were alive today I think he would be sufficiently pleased with where Europe is at in terms of income inequality. But I don't think hed be super pleased with America, a discussion between him and trump would be fun to sit in on lol
