Bertrand speaks to me across the boundaries of time and space. A visionary and a genius, thank you Bertrand.
It's very sad that things like this arent broadcast on radio anymore and never were in Australia.
They would've fed these words to their pet kangaroos and made boomerangs out of the tape player. Australia gave the world Yahoo Serious. That's all that's needed
Some very good observations and very good points, well articulated. The problem of excess accumulation of power in progressively fewer hands has continued unabated. The attempt to form a global state has progressed and the formation of a pan-Western civilizational cultural consciousness has taken many steps forward over the last 60 years.
The problem I see, that isn't mentioned here, is that national and even imperial governments have demonstrated many failings, often only limited by their scope of power. A global state with a global government will have effectively unlimited scope of power and therefore unlimited scope to destroy mankind through error, folly, arrogance and corruption.
Flowing, masterful language marks this series. It is English such as I aspire to..... one day............
I am late bloomer, took up philosophy recently. Bert Russell is my philo primer.

Thank you; no cohesion from fear but mere benevolence.
I like the Freudian slip: "scholastic entertainment" 21:51
I don't think it's a bad thing however. If anything, it reveals how he views learning to be a fun process
You've found an excellent starting place!
Planning is only worthwhile to the individuals participating in planning while the act provides greater benefits to those participating than not. When there is no longer an out group to plan in opposition to then there is no longer a viable incentive to participate in planning. Devolution must be the result producing either sub-groups of many or sub-groups of one.
The Illuminati quote Bertrand Russell! He is so eloquent that it's almost contagious!
The is Wisdom it self one can say. Respect 🙏
Russell is correct that, without a government using the monopolly of force on a society, men would have never built gargantuan useless structures, that served no purpose, like the pyramids.
People who are not under the rule of a government would instead use their time, ressources and energy to build things that are useful to them.
Whenever Russell tries to make an argument for the government, it becomes an argument that the government is more than useless, it is detrimental for humanity.
Highly interesting.
My mind has been obliterated.
