BEANS MEANS....END OF HARVEST 2021

- In today's video we finish off Harvest 2021. The beans are combined by uncle Ian in the MF 38. Not the best of conditions but it's time for them to come in so we treat them with acid in the field to help them keep. 3690 features pulling trailers and we go baling with the John Deere baler to gather up the Bean Straw. Makes great bedding with great soakage. We also take a look at SenCrop weather app and see if its weather forecast is correct and it can even now help predict when the maize will be ready for cutting.

Uncle Ian with the 47 th harvest behind him, he's well on his way for 50. You'd need to be preparing for this, maybe a big new combine with all the bells and whistles. Keep on keeping on.
When you harvest the potatoes this year you should use a basket/bucket to collect the rocks and remove them from the field. Just dropping them back on to the ground as you go is only setting yourself up for unnecessary wear and tear on your machinery. Yes it's a small bit of additional work, but within 2-3 harvests of doing this you will greatly reduce the rocks and make tillage, planting and harvest far easier on your machinery.

Use that bean straw for the pigs for bedding,they will go thru it looking for beans and chew the straw up making a perfect bed!

To those who do a 9 to 5 or early 6 to 2 or 2 to 10, or even a night shift, our Farmer Phil father Phil & uncle are doing double or treble shifts sometime 24/7. It is the same for all our famers, their normal day is a double or treble shift, no doubt without overtime payments too, well done lads and thank you.
