VEE it’s so much negativity around me that I just want to say something positive to you. You tha man dude. Stay focus, be smart, have fun, and keep getting doe. #💯💪🏾🙏
Definitely needed a reshimming on valves. Had same issue on 04 450r. Hard to start and pipe Hella hot. Nice read on the problem and started on first kick. 👍
Crazy, I just saw them drop it off yesterday with the video you posted. My first thought exactly was valve clearance. I have the same exact bike with the year and model.
Thanks, always hated 4 strokes in motocross bikes because of all the extra moving parts. Honda must have soft valves, or seats if this is a common problem with guys banging off the rev limiter all day.
I just opened mine up and found the valve stems mushroomed so bad I’m going to have to file them to get them out. It’s an ‘02 so I’m assuming it’s prob never had a head service.
So if a bike is hard to start the valves are probably too tight I thought it was if he bikes hard to start the valves are too loose but you're saying too tight how can the valves be too tight don't they get loose over time?
Bro I Imagine overhead at your current location is pretty inexpensive. But bro you got knowledge I’ve been falling you for a long time! You could easily have a big shop that will pull in tons of cash.
I ve done everything to my 04 crf450 and nothing changed.. valves shims , new timing chain, new piston , new everything.. cold most times starts right up, hot almost never, air screw mixture works only 5 times unscrew, changed the jets to screw down the air mixture and nothing, any tips??
Man in glad I watched this video.Im a damn good mechanic but I don't like the way honda designed the valve train on this bike. You have an adjuster for the exhaust but shims for the intake crazy. Most shade tree mechanics aren't gonna know how to fix this isue.Me I prefer the older bikes that I can adjust while running.Might be a little messy but do able.Keep up the good work.
Hey man i have the same bike, found out today the mechanic i paid for did an absolute shit job, timing isn’t right neither are the valves. I have never done a job on valves before, what valves shims did you use for all four?
Vee my man i got a same year bike and the owner lost the shims he bought a new set can u help me with witch size I need on the intake and exhaust I will appreciate it
Just check where u at with ur Clarence and go thinner if at 1 and u need to go to 6 or 5 and u got a 250 shim u need to go to 230 if u at 4 and u got 250 shim just need to go thinner two numbers
Yo bro I got a 450 the other day I swear I only started the hoe 4 times lol I got it started the first kick here and there but sometime I can’t even get it started at all what you think it’s wrong I feel liek it shoidl start first kick all the time
It’s called the vee touch, yet anyone can do it. I’m surprised people don’t even try to do it themselves they just pay the money to get it fixed even if it’s a simple tune up. You’d save money just learning to do it yourself but I guess people too lazy or stupid 😂
Fr, I love his grind but he does really basic stuff. Everything he does is extremely basic and heavily documented. Check valves, shim valves (maybe), clean carb, change piston head and rings even when they don't need it then charge a lot for basic work. Take a day or two and do your research and you'd be at his level. I don't think he even checks the specs for everything.

Learned a lot from Vee, but honesty y'all just need to go through the service manual it's step by step with pictures and diagrams!

Good Job
Nice work!!
That motor has AT LEAST 100 hours on it. Full rebuild is what it REALLY needs. Not worth it. Part it out.
