After the death of her dog courage, Muriel became a cold hearted old lady and sat in waiting for the one who took her dog away. And when death finally came, he was not prepared for what was to come...
I love how the Reaper was made to look like a bird of prey. The action is done so fluidly and quickly I had to watch it over again a few times to see just what happened when she kicked the Reaper's face in. "Not today, Death. My soap opera has three seasons left."
This actually reminds me of my great grandmother right now. She was diagnosed with cancer and wasn't given long to live. She''s out lived all expectations so far. And has left hospital care to live in a good nursing home
The reason i haven't really used proper grammar is because i don't really use it unless needed like on a paper or somthing. But again good on you for using proper grammar
Im sure no one else thinks like this, but this death seems very sweet and gently. a caress, and an embrace before doing what he must. He may seem terrifying in sight. but he seems like a sweet heart that respects life and who she was.
i'd like to think, in light of this interpretation, that he could have fought back harder and chose to sell her hits. like death realised how much fight this old lady still had in her and decided "no, not your time after all" so he let her have this win
@@jojones4685 And, apparently, baiting the next Grim Reaper to come after her (and become a new part of her collection). I mean, that's what happened in the beginning of the video and the cycle seems to continue.

So a friend of mine posted a segment from this film on FB, about a minute long, with the beginning and the end missing (so I had no idea who made this masterpiece!) and NO SOUND. I was so affected by the film that I designed a soundscape for it, (or the minute of it that I had) in honor of my recently departed and beloved Sound Designer Prof from my university. She would give us a few minutes of video with no audio and our assignment was to design a soundscape for them. I was a bit out of practice with the software so I thought it could be great to refamiliarize myself with it. Then I finally tracked down the original!!! Its brilliant. Inspirational!
+Anthony Varicelli When I first saw this it didn't have any sound either so I figured it would be really great practice. I'm glad I tracked this video down and can't wait to take a crack at the sound design. What a great tribute, I'm sure your sound design professor was a wonderful person and would have loved what you did.
this is one of the best death designs i've ever seen omg. it's so fluid and creepy and i love how as the wrapping comes away it just becomes more frightening.
I like the idea that when she leaves the room, that's her really dying, it's not as grand as all that crap with the scary shit - just something that happens
Death: We shall play a game, one which will decide whether you keep your soul, or I take it from you. Now, what game hath you decided on? Grandma: Catch. Death: Pardon--? Grandma: THESE HANDS!
lots a jokes for this. when you don't feel like dying. 1:25 when the alarm clock just won't shut up. 1:58 when your just trying to enjoy life without death. 2:48
The animation is beautiful. Why is the maximum setting only 240p though? I cant even see the animation half of the time because the video quality is so low
Guessing this is not her first rodeo.
Not her last one either
Unfortunately, a battle with death is one which does not end until you inevitably lose.
Is this how Queen Elizabeth lived for so long?
Lol
After the death of her dog courage, Muriel became a cold hearted old lady and sat in waiting for the one who took her dog away.

Dude that hit the heart strings.
Dude this literally a great storytelling!!

@Jim Bowen How can you find something so awful funny? It's at the very least a really bad joke
you know your a badass when you put down a tombstone for the grim reaper
that comment a year late nice.. also nobody cares about grammar

I really like the representation of death in this. It looks like a vulture, never far from it's prey. Great idea.
It frequently is represented that way.
TheShrimp Plaza for me it looked more like an angel, a fallen one to be more precise
Where is it represented like that too
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light." - D Thomas
that was the moment when death knew, he fucked up
I was expecting this to be one of those beautiful, sad, artistic things.
Boy. Was I pleasantly surprised.
What do we say to death?

if that was the case he'd be like, "oi its time to go" insteada creepin on folk.

I like the idea that when she leaves the room, that's her really dying, it's not as grand as all that crap with the scary shit - just something that happens
Family comes to visit, sees a new chair and tv: "again, grandma?"
How to cope with death:
Don’t. Make it cope with you.
Muriel! The things you do for life...
This is brilliantly animated. I'm very late to the party, but I saw it for the first time today, and it took my breath away.
Death: We shall play a game, one which will decide whether you keep your soul, or I take it from you. Now, what game hath you decided on?
Grandma: Catch.
Death: Pardon--?
Grandma: THESE HANDS!
One of the coolest videos I’ve seen in my whole life!
Amazing! Just an amazing short story!
this is one of the coolest Death designs ive ever seen.
please never take this off of youtube it is sooo awesome, i cannot thank you enough for uploading this, it made my day : )
Surprisingly awesome design for death. Very creepy. Nice job who ever drew that!
Top 10 houses death hates visiting
Number 1: old lady in the chair
i can just imagine her doing this thinking that she hadn't yet baked enough cookies for her grandkids.
YEAH, YOU GO GRANNY!
Beautiful animation btw
the music is beautiful
the different renditions of the dies irae? absolutely beautiful
the art? STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE IT
This is one of the coolest designs for death I have ever seen! This is so amazing!
DEATH: oh look a weak old lady...your time is up
Grama: im going to surpass my limits right here right now
Reaper leaping for Grandma and Grandma bonking with the chair has a similar energy to someone spritzing their cat with water like "no! Don't do that!"
Death can not end the babushka
Wow, that was so cool. I was kind of hoping she would make a new chair with death's bones thought.
Dude she just clowned on him god damn
wow nice work, love the little details and the un expected fight scene. Very cool.
Yes, out of the (surely) thousands of videos on youtube featuring an old woman and death, this is assuredly the best one.
Oh great, now we need another grim reaper to deal with that one.
That was beyond epic and the ending was definitely not expected.
You're not coping with death. You're rejecting death...
I feel like a lot of people didn't watch the after credits scene...
Agustina I know right it’s uncanny
I've seen too much old people just falling asleep to the sounds of working TV to think of it as death. She's just too badass to die like this.
Wow The Grandma is entering god mode
See? A little exercise helps keep death at bay!
I never played the Genocide Route but damn I wasn't expecting this
I can't help but to watch the fight scene over and over and over....
Must be a relative of Teddy Roosevelt.
"Death had to take him sleeping, for there would have been a fight if he was awake."
For some reason whenever I see the old lady start fighting, "Before My Body is Dry" starts to play in my head.
So this is Mrs. Norris
"There is only one god and his name is death. And there is only one thing we say to death. 'Not today!'" -Syrio Forel (Game of Thrones)
"Thought you could catch me snoozing like that Roosevelt punk did you now, BITCH?!!"
Holy snap ,... That ending though
When in doubt, use violence.
