    Been looking at EDC bags for a while and some of these prices still shock me, appreciate the budget option inclusion. The Carhartt looks simple but really good for the price.

    Just picked up the Able Carry Thirteen in ripstop tan, based on your review of this bag. Bought it specifically as a travel bag that would carry a few loose odds and ends on a flight and be able to sit comfortably underneath the seat in front of me that didn't take up all the legroom! Had the bag for 2 weeks and i have to say that I love this bag and I think able carry did a great job with the design.

      Its definitely not a big bag, I'm 5'11 and the bottom of the bag definitely doesnt touch my lower back. You could always see how the size compares to other bags you may have around your home for example if you have kids and they have bags. I measured against one of the state street kids backpacks and the able carry was about 4cm longer. My main use though is for plane travel - i just need that legroom and hate putting bags in overhead compartments. Then when i reach destination i can empty out and put the bag inside my suitcase since it doesnt take up much room.

    A compilation and I've never tried any of the bags on your list. My last 3 trips for a long weekend -San Francisco to Seattle - I one bagged/personal item sized (i.e. fit underseat) with Tom Bihn Techonaut 30 (twice) and Evergoods CTB26 (once).

    Aaron - love the round up videos! The Evergoods CPL 24 is my flight bag of choice and going to use it single bag carry style for 3+ day trip coming up - first time trying to fly without roller bag 😳. I also picked up (used) a navy PLC20 and love it. No luggage pass through, which would be nice to see on future Evergoods bags other than the CTB line.

    Bummed to not see the Aer Travel Sling 2! It’s my go to for personal item on a flight! Though I see why you nominated the tech sling 3, though it doesn’t have a luggage handle pass through.

    Great video, it was helpful. I've been looking for a weekend bag that fits within the 18×14×8 dimensions for use on the budget airlines. Something maybe 22 to 26 Liters if possible. Do you have additional suggestions?

    Great video! Would love a European version as most airlines over here have a 40x30x15 cm size restriction for personal items. Really makes you search high and low for quality backpacks in that size. I'm currently using the Mopak Slimpack which has been surprisingly good for flights.

    Cool. Have you ever considered making a video about best personal item backpacks for budget/minimalist one bag travel? Ie using the personal item as your only bag all trip. I did it in Europe for 2 months on a Target personal item sized backpack and now that I am ready to splurge on a more expensive backpack, am hovering between carry on size that hopefully won't be measured, and personal item size that will for sure pass all standards.

    Is the 26L clamshell design the best in between size for EDC and Travel Pack? - would be interested in a video reviewing such packs and what to pack for extended stays up to 1 to 2 weeks laptop included. Multiple trips abroad make taking larger 35 to 45L packs a burden for some and would be interested in your tips and possible backpack selections

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  23 дні тому +1

      totally depends on what you carry/pack, but I'd say for the average person this would be around the sweet spot. Although a 26L is huge for EDC for me, but if you want the best of both worlds then it sounds about right.

  • @dinerenblancc

    The Bellroy Venture Travel Pack 26L is way too tall to fit under the seat on the plane, about 10cm too tall.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  16 днів тому

      I disagree that it won't fit, it's small enough to put under a seat. The only question is if it fits in the airline personal item policy, which will vary from airline to airline

  • @Dmassimini7

    • @Nomads.Nation

      To ensure ultimate credibility on NN, I only will recommend the Fyro T22 when absolutely necessary. But it's absolutely an AMAZING personal item for travel

  • @kevinkschen123456

    It seems like mostly smaller < 20L backpacks in this video, wondering why there isn't more bigger 30-35 options.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  27 днів тому

      we wanted to create a list that would be relevant to audiences around the world (as international standards are much stricter than US standards). Plus if people are looking for a larger bag, they usually are searching for a 'one bag travel bag' which we've done many videos on. But you are completely right that larger bags can work as personal items as well (depending on the airline)

    Too many of these bags just come as black..... we need more color in our lives!

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  27 днів тому

      I see where you are coming from, but it's a simple issue of supply and demand, plus capacity. Smaller bag companies have to be careful of overstocking, and when they come out with a new colorway they don't sell, so they don't make more colors because of it. At the end of the day black is the most popular color for bags!

    • @Verus3
      @Verus3 27 днів тому

      @@Nomads.Nation This is why I appreciate the companies that offer anything other than black. Black will always be the number one because of its neutrality. This is the same for flashlights, knives etc in the EDC community. But offering even one other color freshens the lineup. As always, love your videos and shared knowledge.

    These are good recommendations, but I think you were limited in options because you only chose backpacks you had reviewed. I get why, but the result was leaving a lot of well-known brands off the list (EG and Goruck come to mind).

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  27 днів тому +2

      you are totally correct that I limit our roundups to bags I've reviewed, but I've reviewed 4 GORUCKs and almost 10 EG bags at this point, so in this case those bags just didn't seem like the best fit for this particular video.
