    Hey Aaron! First of all, I really love your channel. So this is certainly not a complaint. However, since I am not from the US, I am always looking for a personal item bag that complies with international and budget airlines that fly internationally, which is in most cases: 40cm X 30cm X 20cm. I can get by with a bit taller, like 43-44cm 'cause you can always squish the bag a bit in the sizer. BUT - most of the bags that you are reviewing in this video are way taller, around 50cm tall, which will not be acceptable by the international airlines. So I think you should maybe make another review specifically for us, international travelers. The Osprey Daylite 26+6 and the Tomtoc Navigator 28L (both are always sold out, so if you find a link that works we will all buy from it:) are a good start, and I'm sure you have more that fit the size I mentioned. Have a great year!

    Just picked up the Able Carry Thirteen in ripstop tan, based on your review of this bag. Bought it specifically as a travel bag that would carry a few loose odds and ends on a flight and be able to sit comfortably underneath the seat in front of me that didn't take up all the legroom! Had the bag for 2 weeks and i have to say that I love this bag and I think able carry did a great job with the design.

      Would u think it’s a bit too small? I’m 181cm.

    • @alexw9368

      Its definitely not a big bag, I'm 5'11 and the bottom of the bag definitely doesnt touch my lower back. You could always see how the size compares to other bags you may have around your home for example if you have kids and they have bags. I measured against one of the state street kids backpacks and the able carry was about 4cm longer. My main use though is for plane travel - i just need that legroom and hate putting bags in overhead compartments. Then when i reach destination i can empty out and put the bag inside my suitcase since it doesnt take up much room.

    I am surprised you guys have not reviewed the Osprey Daylite 26+6L, it can be personal item or really good for minimalist travel especially since it clocks in at just under 2 lbs. which is fantastic for those stricter/budget airlines.
    I love that it has just suitcase style opening and it’s SO cheap for something like this (I think mine was like 100). The quality for the price is bar none. Which is probably why it is like always sold out here in the States, I had to buy my black one from Bass Pro shops of all places after searching for a long time.
    It doesn’t have a great laptop sleeve, and I know it’s important for digital nomads. But I think it’s still worth checking out.

    Aaron - love the round up videos! The Evergoods CPL 24 is my flight bag of choice and going to use it single bag carry style for 3+ day trip coming up - first time trying to fly without roller bag 😳. I also picked up (used) a navy PLC20 and love it. No luggage pass through, which would be nice to see on future Evergoods bags other than the CTB line.

    Cool. Have you ever considered making a video about best personal item backpacks for budget/minimalist one bag travel? Ie using the personal item as your only bag all trip. I did it in Europe for 2 months on a Target personal item sized backpack and now that I am ready to splurge on a more expensive backpack, am hovering between carry on size that hopefully won't be measured, and personal item size that will for sure pass all standards.

    As an experienced traveler, could you please lay out the difference in how you use a one-bag travel bag and a personal item as you describe here? Please forgive my inexperience, but does one-bag travel mean that you only use one bag, or do you carry a sling, too? Is the assumption here that with these ~13 liter bags are the carry on, and you also have a checked bag?

    • @eskamobob8662

    If I'm not mistaken only the aer one can possible pass as a personal item backpack anywhere in the world with any airline ever except some in the USA. Most of them are too tall even for most US airlines, but definitely for all airlines outside of the US. 16"x12"x8" is the most common sizing for a personal item there are bags 19" in this video that's 1 inch over for the USA 3 inches over anywhere else. It ain't gonna fly

    Is the 26L clamshell design the best in between size for EDC and Travel Pack? - would be interested in a video reviewing such packs and what to pack for extended stays up to 1 to 2 weeks laptop included. Multiple trips abroad make taking larger 35 to 45L packs a burden for some and would be interested in your tips and possible backpack selections

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  5 місяців тому +1

      totally depends on what you carry/pack, but I'd say for the average person this would be around the sweet spot. Although a 26L is huge for EDC for me, but if you want the best of both worlds then it sounds about right.

    Great video! Would love a European version as most airlines over here have a 40x30x15 cm size restriction for personal items. Really makes you search high and low for quality backpacks in that size. I'm currently using the Mopak Slimpack which has been surprisingly good for flights.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  5 місяців тому

      we wanted to create a list that would be relevant to audiences around the world (as international standards are much stricter than US standards). Plus if people are looking for a larger bag, they usually are searching for a 'one bag travel bag' which we've done many videos on. But you are completely right that larger bags can work as personal items as well (depending on the airline)

    Too many of these bags just come as black..... we need more color in our lives!

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  5 місяців тому

      I see where you are coming from, but it's a simple issue of supply and demand, plus capacity. Smaller bag companies have to be careful of overstocking, and when they come out with a new colorway they don't sell, so they don't make more colors because of it. At the end of the day black is the most popular color for bags!

    • @Verus3
      @Verus3 5 місяців тому

      @@Nomads.Nation This is why I appreciate the companies that offer anything other than black. Black will always be the number one because of its neutrality. This is the same for flashlights, knives etc in the EDC community. But offering even one other color freshens the lineup. As always, love your videos and shared knowledge.
