4 days after i bought this light i was on a roadtrip on PA turnpike. The suv infront of us flipped over in its roof. It was midnight. Pitch dark. I used every feature on that coast 700! The red COB blinker probably saved us all from a secondary collision. I used the flashlight body to smash side window to extract driver. No damage to flashlight. That polysteel body is strong. I have since added a 5/8" nut on a laynard to use as a window break as the polysteel took a few trys to shatter window. Best general/emergency flashlight i ever owned, and i have dozens of other brands
Good to hear you guys made it out of this situation and the light served you well. I have mine in the car and even equipped it with expensive 1.5V lithium AA cells to make sure it is ready when the situation arises. Greetings from Austria!

Ja, ist sehr nett. Generell liefern auch günstigere Lampen mit COB LEDs sehr gutes Licht für den Nahbereich. Und oft sind in den COB Streifen auch rote oder andersfarbige LEDs integriert. Für Verkehrsteilnehmer der waghalsigen Sorte ist solche Ausrüstung besonders wichtig...
Not too many Coast reviews out there that go into the tech. Nice overview and explanation. Flashlight forums seem to feel Coast lights are overprice for the older technology they offer... same with their knife steel. It'll be good to see them catch up to the informed consumer's palette.
That is a interesting topic. The features I love on my Coast I can't get on any premium light. I could make an entire video about the different design philosophies. I would love to see the Coast with premium electronics and LED, a modern UI. Other than that it is equipped with excellent Lithium-AAs and waiting for emergency use in my car.

No, it runs on 4xAA cells.

@@JpGarza-tu6dxI have 4x AA Energizer Lithium cells (1,5V) in it and the light is in my car, I check it regularly.
Nice lights the whole battery choice is too much for me though. you buy this light wit these batterys. Hope you guys are well and talk to you soon
