I live in south Alabama and I completely understand what you are saying. I have to keep my door closed too but also like it open with the Storm door where I can see out as well. This cake looks delicious.
Sue I make the same exact cake but my topping is heath candy pieces...also I refrigerate the cake and condense milk over night before adding the whipped cream and heath pieces...we call this dish HOLY COW here is south Louisiana ...I won first place with that dessert for one of our family reunions 🙂
Your grandson is adorable. The cake looks delicious I can't wait to make it for sure. I noticed that you use a metal spoon to get the sweetened condensed milk out of the can, as I have retired from kitchen work using a metal spoon to get stuff from a can is a big No No, as you can scrap off metal flakes into your food. I hope this helps and will definitely be looking for more videos.
I recently made a Butterfinger cake for a Fellowship Meal at our church. I used a peanut butter frosting on a chocolate cake, then sprinkled the chopped Butterfingers on top. It was a hit with everyone. I enjoyed watching your video and happy to see there is another version of a Butterfinger cake I can try. Thank you!
@sherriplath8346 yes. Half a cup of peanut butter, 1 pound of confectioner's sugar, 7 to 8 Tablespoons of milk, & 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Cream the peanut butter, then add one third of the confectioners sugar. Once these are blended, begin adding the milk and remaining confectioners sugar alternately. Add vanilla and beat until spreading consistency.
I forgot to mention that the cake must be completely cool before putting the peanut butter frosting on. Otherwise, the peanut butter will begin to melt.
Thank you for the tip on letting the cake cool a bit before poking the holes and pouring the milk. I’ve made this. So good.
You are a delight to my boring days! Love watching you and Harold!❤

I make this cake too but I also pour over a jar of caramel ice cream topping along with the sweetened condensed milk.
That's how my family makes this cake as well. The caramel topping makes it so much more delicious, with that sweetened condensed milk.
I have done it with the ice cream topping too

Fantastic and easy. Thanks for the suggestion and tip on letting it cool just a bit. Love watching you Mama Sue and enjoy you and Harold ❤❤❤

Did you make the peanut butter frosting yourself?

Mason has gotten so big!!
Mama Sue, can I use real whipped cream? My family and I think the whipped topping tastes greasy. 😊
Have you tried the Extra Creamy Cool Whip? It really is extra creamy!
They all taste greasy so I would use real whipping cream
Yum 😋
God bless ❤

We use a toothpick or fork for holes. The milk DOES sink in!
Me too
I could make this with my scratch chocolate cake very easily. I don't like the taste or texture of boxed mix cakes.
I'm a new one 11:16am 0:50
cool whip is shortening, not good, read labels
Thanks Karen
