the car is way way way easier to get in than the 1LE.. that was the first major thing that made me love it... this is a complicated car to work on... im already frustrated and almost want to rewire it.. i cant even get the engine to crank...it has relays powering other relays.. a whole bunch of mechanical fail safes... and the main problem is.. ALL THE RELAYS ARE HIDDEN AWAY!!!!!!!!🤬🤬🤬
The 1974 260z model year was split into two, early and late. The early is barely distinguishable from the 240z, retaining the turn signals below the front bumper and the same valence pieces. The main differences were slightly bigger bumper rubbers and they added some side impact beams in the door. They also upgraded the interior vinyl and door cards over the 240z. I think the early 260z is the rarest Z of the big run production cars.
Nice find, but you might get frustrated by that old school injection. It was great back in the day but functioning parts are sometimes hard to find. I can also vouch for the roomiest sports car I have found for tall people.
I drove the car 20 years ago and it all worked normal.. it hasn’t been driven since so I hope I can get it running again.. trust me .. just looking at the fuel injection is like 😳
@@rustybumperclassics6342 your right, for sure!!!! The one Im building on my channel for my wife, we paid $300 bucks for it, if you can imagine what all it needs 😂 I should have bought a finished one but Im cheap lol
oh, you didn't pull it from a lake and plan to rebuild everything but the VIN tag? wIlL iT RuN ?!? lol thanks for sharing man, im interested to see how you handle this project
i have to buy cars with a certain level of crappiness for the channel.. but not too crappy where it becomes a dead and lost project... if they are too nice.. people just hate on you.. this is a keeper.. this car came up like my camaro did... it was either buy it or dont...(like opportnity knocking) im going to do a few videos figuring out the fuel injection and getting it running perfect... but no restoration videos for a while..
Awesome! I have an old friend that loves Datsun Z's.

I've always been a fan of Datsun/Nissan Z cars.
Hell yeah, I can't wait for you to make more video's of this Datsun like you did your Chevelle.

Nice buy!! I got a 240z Im building for my wife on my channel. We are considering using motor out of 280z with the carbs from a 240z motor.
Nice. I had one just like it years ago.
Facking love the old Datsun's!
Yessss!! Me too!!!!
Cool. I have a 77 resto mod. Lots of fun ahead if you get deep.
Those Z's are getting up there in price. Looks likes its all there. Nice
The prices are getting insane!!!
@@DustyMacsGarage if that Z was running and driving it would have been $6k or more

Where you been guy? How's the Chevelle?
Vents on the hatch are on the early zs called series 1.
tune up and a macco job 😎 she’s a rider
You got yourself a really good in-shape 280z. A lot of them are a full of rust.
The one Im building for my wife surely was slam full of rust.
On my 1976 Chevy Itasca (chevy p20 chassis) and my marker lights suddenly don’t work. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?
Those struts last forever 😂 I got 3 280Z’s and one 240Z
I got 2 260Z I believe one is early
And other one is late model…! One start up and others not yet…! They are very nice car in my opinion…!
I actually just learned about the early and late 260z while buying coilovers
I'm going to look at a 78 for $3k in a couple of days. I think its going to be too rusty though.
If you dump the rear Oliver, Iam looking for Oliver pins that hold the louder at the bottom.
what is an Oliver? and what is a louder?
Sorry, all thumbs texting. Louver.pins🙂
I’m keeping that now I like
Man, I love these old Zs but does that mean the Velle is never going to get done now?! : (
I’m just going to get it running and then store it.. Chevelle getting finished first
@@chriscraft77022 there you go! Now we're talking! 😎👍🏼
Datsun is a grear project these days
White interior is rare on them Z’s
Be careful with that Z....
why? what an odd comment
