    Not much has been revealed about Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket but I don't think it's what I'm looking for in terms of virtually interacting with the Pokémon Trading Card game.

    2 packs a day would be a ton in real life. Who has the money to buy 600 packs a year.

    • @TheGameCubicle
      @TheGameCubicle  3 місяці тому +3

      That's actually an interesting point. It's even more than you said at 730 packs a year (732 on leap year). However, in real life, if I want to make a deck or complete a key part of a collection, I always have the option of buying singles (and buying singles is almost always better than gambling for packs anyway). Will TCG Pocket have some sort of system of obtaining specific cards? If the only way to get cards is through the RNG packs than that is going to be a big problem for deck building and give an advantage to players with bigger wallets (provided the game has micro-transactions).

      @@TheGameCubiclesorry this is late but the game will have trading. So I imagine there will be a big in game market. I’m sure it will be easy to buy cards off of people.

    I wish more people knew how to play the Pokémon card game, and I wish more people had cards irl. Sometimes I like going on twitch or kick and looking for people to play trading card game live with. Also all the decks in the higher ranks you find are the same, one out of three decks usually, decks that work nearly every single time, and it is annoying, because the idea of building your own deck is really out the window when any deck you could hope to build can't compete with the one's others use. Also in tcg live you can just get the card packs for your deck by using the purple gem things you get from completing daily tasks and the cards you want by selling extra cards to get those rainbow token things.

    • @TheGameCubicle
      @TheGameCubicle  3 місяці тому +1

      Getting cards in TCG Live still takes too long even with being able to trade in extra cards. I just don't have the free time to play enough matches to actually build a competitively viable deck yet most people I go up against have those one of three really viable decks.

      @@TheGameCubicle yeah this is true, I think the solution would be to make a game in which cards are earned purely by playing it

      @@TheGameCubicle No offence but this is completely false. I'm currently playing ptcgl as a free to play who only does the 2 daily battle pass missions and they give you enough currency to buy the premium bp for free which gives you 2 competitively viable decks (usually). Either they're the winning deck from a tournament or theyre filled with some of the newest hot ticket cards of the new set.
      On top of that, you should only spend crystals on the highest pack bundle from the legends set if you care about crafting because it has the fewest cards in the set and also the most rares, this allows you to get dupes of rares fast and amass a stockpile of dust to craft whatever with. It's like 15min a day to do what I need to do and logoff, it might seem slow at first but Im currently sitting on 20k dust and every competitive deck from the previous set that I wanted to play

    If we can open more packs through codes on physical packs like you can in the regular TCG online game then that would be solid, but if it’s micro transaction only that’s going to suck a bit.

    • @TheGameCubicle
      @TheGameCubicle  3 місяці тому +1

      Since the cards are so different in pocket compared to live I hope that if they do use codes they don’t make you have to choose to use it either on Live or Pocket. Maybe a system where you connect your accounts and get a pack in both games per one code.

      I can almost guarantee the code cards won't work for this mobile game. Those code cards were created alongside the original PTCGO game client as a marketing initiative to promote IRL competitive play. TPCi is in charge of of both PTCGL and printing cards (including code cards). TPCi is multiple levels removed from Pokemon Pocket, which is directly collaborating with Creatures Inc.

    Agree completely with your simulator conclusion, TCG Live provides absolutely nothing of value outside of being an official simulator.
    The code cards don't even match the cards to your real life collection, and there is no use for the non-meta cards on the app.
    If TCG Pocket can capture the addictiveness/progression of Pokemon GO's battle system, I believe it has far more upside than the gameboy game and I love that game.

  • @PsychoMantisss

    I mean to be fair at least with pocket you get two packs a day for free. With live you can only get them with crystals , which are done through the battle pass as rewards for unlocked tiers, or through daily missions. The only other way to get packs is through said rewards, either through ranked, level up (I think?), or again battle bass for free. Otherwise you have to get code cards through either friends who don't play Live, but buy physical packs, buy the code cards online, or get lucky through giveaways. The only other way to get cards is through credits, which again are gained through reward, or by getting more than 4 of the same exact card (not counting holos, different art, etc). It's not exactly a cheap way to play, so even though these cards are very different from their counterparts, at least you get two free packs a day to build on. You will probably get a starter deck too, I'd be really shocked if you didn't.

    • @TheGameCubicle

    TCGL lets you pick which cards you want individually and use f2p resources to make them. You don't need to pay for meta decks. I made several decks just this month and I haven't spent a dime. I even made the full arts for 1 of them XD

    3:30 Up at the top and bottoms of the screen's I believe we can see the "prize points" Mentioned on the ex cards with a max of 3 similar to the "My First Battle" boxes where prize points come from. While this on it's own isn't necessarily a problem, with Pokemon ex's still being present there will need to be an extremely tight leash on them to avoid the games going too fast, I believe the +20 weakness's might be a preventative measure for that already, but it puts a pretty hard limit on how strong two prize pokemon become.

      first different devs, second different branches of the same company.
      Basically you have TPC (The Pokemon Company) and TPCi (The Pokemon Company International) .
      TPC games are promoted in the Presents and are usually available globally.
      TPCi has one game from an in house development team which is Card game Live and Live isn't supported by TPC basically, it's only supported by TPCi and therefore not available in a global level.
      Also Pocket is being developed by DeNa and Creatures Inc, the last ones being the official developers of the physical card game.
      While Live doesn't even have Creatures Inc support

    I loved the older online TCG game because they had so many different tournaments, one of which was based solely on the starter decks that you could buy with in game currency. I played that all the time. It didn’t matter what cards you got or how much money you spent or if you had any deck building knowledge to begin with. The decks were all prebuilt and on similar levels, all that mattered was your own strategy. I played it constantly, building up tournament points to collect cards just because. It was awesome! I’m a lot better at in the moment strategy then I am at planning a strategy before hand, so it was really the only way I could play. They removed that in TCG live from what I can tell, and once I moved my cards to Live, I couldn’t go back to the original. I dropped it immediately. It no longer offers me anything. I’m bummed about it honestly.

    Me: Im already gone man!
    I do think it's crazy past time they made another cardgame RPG though. They pumped out a new Pokemon game every single year like a factory, would it have caused the world to end if they tried having even one of them be a cardgame RPG? It's been 23 years!
