"I don't know what I did to trick you into thinking I was worthy of you." Is such a heartbreaking line. A lot of people hate Shadowheart because of her attitude in the beginning but it's so clear that underneath she has 0 self confidence...
I had a girl I was dating months ago that would say similar things to me. Things like “I don’t know why you think so highly of me, I don’t even think that highly of myself” or “Idk why you like me, I’m nothing special”. I didn’t get it, she accomplished more in her life than I did up until this point and she always just minimized her achievements. Her low self esteem and self-doubt is ultimately what ended up killing our relationship before it could even get fully off the ground. And not because I ended it or anything, but because she was scared of being loved and ended it herself out of fear. Been 5 months since then and it still hurts tbh.
Stop breaking my heart, you mongrel! Sharran path is really painful and tragic. I want to hug me girl and protect her from anything. Especially that Durge evil ending where you kill her. It's just painful.
Yes, after everything that happened to her, she deserves that cottage life more than anything, I mean she doesn't want anything grand, just a simple life in the countryside surrounded with her loved one and her animals, why don't we make her 'whole' by granting her wish ❤️ Also, I'm sorry 😅 and don't worry, this will be the last depressing Shadowheart video I make, there will be several more planned Shadowheart videos coming this month and I promise you it won't be as depressing as this anymore 🙏
The sharran path is just......painful (unsuprisingly), especially at the epilogue party where we can already see the small signs of her returning to her true self, fighting trough the massive gaslight once again. Her post personal quest scene became sooooo much better after they added the option to hug her, felt so bad to stand there like a moron as she bursted into tears.
Yeah, I'm so glad they finally added an option to hug her in that scene because she deserves it, and I agree with you that it hurts seeing DJ Shadowheart in epilogue, it still feels like I failed her despite actually helped her achieving her goal, we can see it clearly that she's a genuinely good person underneath, to make her serve an evil god like Shar and locked herself away from the world is just too cruel for her, oh I wish we could k*ll Shar in this game so much, I even hated her more than Vlaakith.
It's especially jarring that you stand right with her if you're her romance partner! I remember how the patch dropped; I instantly went to hug her. She deserves much more hugs, but that's already been and is a huge victory for us, Shadowmacers.
Best ending for Shadowheart is to abandon Shar and save her parents. Killing her parents for removing the curse of Shar meets its expectation, make her losing what she deserve to have.
I disagree. Her canon ending is that she rejects Shar completely and lets her parents pass in peace. Then she goes off to live with me in the countryside 😊
Nearly every time I get to the Sharran cloister, I have to take a while to decide what I want to do. Both options have merit to me, but in the end, I think letting her parents go is best. If you save her parents, she is happy, but Shar does win. She spends her days with them again and with the Sharran wound. Her future was controlled by Shar. It also feels much too easy for Shar to make the whole effort of saving them moot if she would wish, just kill an old man and woman. If you give them up, they'll finally be free, in Selûne's realm forevermore. Shadowheart can finally be whoever she wants to be, go anywhere, do anything. And one day, they'll be together again.
After my first playthrough, where I let her choose and she let her parents go to be free of Shar's curse, I then went online to see what the consequences would've been had she saved them. Surely, with how muc her parents were begging her to let them go, and with how smug Shar was, saving them HAD to mean dire consequences for her, right? I was... Disappointed. I'm glad there is an option for her to have a happily ever after but I can't help but see it as a cop out ending for the sake of it... I mean I guess it's true to life, a DM would probably make the "unbreakable curse" something not too impacting so that the character remains fun to play, but still...
She really delivers any emotional lines that they gave her, and for that Jen is so underrated, I can't wait to see more of her voice acting roles in any mediums in the future
She gave you enough chance to save her from dark so shed fully dedicate herself to you. But if you dont act on it well ofc Shar takes her and youll stay as booty call for her. Unless thats what you were after from the beginning.
Here to ask a question about Shadowheart's choices that others have made. Answer with your opinion if you want to! Is there know way to keep them alive AND get rid of the wound? And what would be considered to be the "best" choice?
No. You either save them and keep the wound, or kill them to get rid of it. Doesn't matter. She would've save her parents, and have the scar to prove it like a badge of honour. I'd wear it proudly if i were in her place.
No, something has to give. But I'd like to think that Warding Bond eases her pain. Sacrificing her parents would mean that she'll become a walking example of Shar's doctrine: Empty your life to get rid of the pain. Despite the curse being gone and she possibly havning the player to accompany her, she looses her family that she so desperately wanted to save and know. Living a happy whole happy life is the the greatest middle finger you can give to Shar, and the writer confirmed that the mark does not bind her to Sharm so she's safe in the afterlife too.
I believe in the epilogue Shadowheart also mentions the pain from the wound becoming less intense and less frequent? They are Shar's last little jabs for being a sore loser and it looks like she's already getting bored of it and moving on to other things. Also, I'm not sure if you ever let your companions experience rapture at Sharran's Caress with Naoise, but it also gives insight in each characters mindset and wishes. Almost every companion has their own additional dialogue choice when it comes to Naoise's rapture, and Shadowheart's choice is "whole". Fast forward to saving her parents and talking about it later when romancing her and she'll mention she feels "whole" for the first time in her life. Try killing the nightsong but sparing parents. She undergoes the largest alignment swing and still gets a happy ending. + You get to play around with Shar's spear which is op on its own
Simple poll - like if you think Shadowheart saving her parents is her best ending, comment if you think she should allow them to move on to Selune's embrace and be free of Shar's torment. Personally, I always end Shar's curse. What parent wouldn't sacrifice themselves to save their child from a lifetime (and for a half-elf like Shadowheart that could be a very long lifetime) of agony? You free them from decades of suffering, and free their daughter of Shar. I think they'd see that as a double win.
I like and also added a comment to say that saving her parents is the best thing for her as she always dreamed to be whole again, which means with her lover and her parents by her side
"I don't know what I did to trick you into thinking I was worthy of you." Is such a heartbreaking line. A lot of people hate Shadowheart because of her attitude in the beginning but it's so clear that underneath she has 0 self confidence...
Yeah, that line is actually what inspire me to make this video, I feel so bad when she react like that 😢

She is just so damn cute how someone can not fall for her?
Agreed, but Karlach is adorable too. And you can't romance both of them. (At least not without the polyamory mod.)
Best ending for Shadowheart is to abandon Shar and save her parents. Killing her parents for removing the curse of Shar meets its expectation, make her losing what she deserve to have.
She lives in peace and she can’t lose something she never had.
If you speak to her parents it is explained by doing that you stifle her future, forever tying her to shar

Jennifer's emotional range on the evil ending for Patch 7 is downright incredible. She sells the whole scene in two damn lines of dialogue.
She really delivers any emotional lines that they gave her, and for that Jen is so underrated, I can't wait to see more of her voice acting roles in any mediums in the future
@@DragonsDream irl she is quite a bit more intelligent than the others..... save for Gale's actor, Tim Downey. That guy's also pretty damn smart.
@@istvancsap3513 Indeed she is. (though not always) but most intelligent people I met love reading books, and both Jen & Tim are bookworms
@@DragonsDream after all, "books are a uniquely portable magic"
Stephen King
@@istvancsap3513 Oh thanks for reminding me, I love that quote so much! ❤️
Damn, that Durge part is cold af
This is why she’s the best romance you can feel the emotion very few games make me feel that way

Enjoy sleeping by yourself then.
