Hi really enjoy watching your channel, a few weeks ago you showed a tool that helps you connect your equipment to your tractor hydraulics could you possibly let me know what it's called and who you got it from. Cheers
They deliver to people that make 300 400k a year to spend 675$ on a cord of wood and have it neatly stacked and placed is well worth the price to them. Why would they spend 3 hours of back breaking work stacking wood when they make 250$ a hour at there desk job. Cant believe people in the comments calling them stupid cant understand this concept.
From someone who runs a warehouse - everyone should take note how clean that floor is. Not just the open areas, but under the pallets as he loads them in the trailer. CLean floor when you have an old toyota forklift means you care about detail and precision. Every aspect of this man's business is about quality, care, and consistency. Love to see it!
This is by far the best, and highest quality firewood delivery service i have ever seen. I wish all firewood companies would meet this level of excellence!
@@goodluck2522 Well, imagine if this spreads. If a quarter of my local firewood guys franchised with Evil Wood Co to deliver $700 cords shrink-wrapped and pre-stacked to the wealthy in my area the rest of the $200 per cord guys are going to increase prices for us normals to keep up with demand... So great niche product, but I do hope it stays niche.
@goodluck2522 it's not automatic. Those investment capital demons put a lot of hard work into destroying good businesses and lowering the quality of life for everyone!

All your videos on Matt's business have been so interesting. He's the type of business owner I would pay attention to. He knows his business and his customers.

Uh, this is unreal. We live on 20 forested acres and heat our home with 3 to 4 cords of seasoned firewood fuel each year. I've never heard of "kiln dried" firewood, palletized firewood, or a pneumatically lowered trailer for that matter. And a motorized pallet jack? Get outta here! This was a fun watch. Edit to add: Yes, we harvest the firewood we need on our property, and sell a small surplus to neighbors.
Adam, one of the best videos I have seen. Nice clean delivery. You get what you pay for. There is a reason that these videos get a lot of views - the guys in them and their work ethic.
Imagine needing to buy a franchise to learn how to do something right in front of you lol. Go buy a damn trailer, truck, splitter, chainsaw and do that shit.
The little details in all of Matt’s operation add up on the bottom line. Neat and interesting all in one. Thank you Adam and Matt for showing this all and bringing a side of the premium firewood side of a niche market to the UA-cam world. A lot of thought, dialing in, and making things work over years of development lead to what Matt has in all aspects of his business. Awesome to see man who followed his dream and made the business he has today. Struggles are real but the wisdom that comes from them is what we see today. Well thought out and executed. Great video taking Adam. 👍🏻👍🏻
What a great system. I like how everything is so neat and clean including the building where these pallets are stored. I’m sure his customers like the professionalism as well. I got firewood delivered for years and sometimes there’d be crushed cans or other things mixed in with the firewood including a ton of loose bark and sawdust
Tell Matt, thank you for sharing. I love to see a quality, run business with great attention to detail;. People will pay for quality, and those people are usually very good customers.. Cheers from eastern Pa.
I live in the UK, this is how I buy my logs, in a crate, tightly packed, kiln dried. Builders bags loose filled are full of air, less logs. They are delivered in a truck and the delivery guy places them where I need them with his pallet truck. They are wrapped against the wet weather, perfect
The kneeling trailer (which is also an algorithm proof rolling billboard for the business) is handy as a shirt pocket. And a wheeled carrier not tearing up everything. Very professional.
If you have an efficient stove/ fire place, and limited time or capacity, you can take advantage of a primo service like this and come out ahead. I love it!
This is what it looks like when a business owner takes their business, their custoners, and their time seriously. It took a lot of time, money, and effort to get those processes down to where he can offer that amazing service for firewood. He won't stop, either, I am sure. There are always more innovations to make, and he will continue to make them.
Wow, what a great idea with the storage... I've been looking for new ideas for my firewood business. I think this may be a game changer. Thanks for the idea
I think Matt run a great operation, the personal delivery service right to the exact place the customer wants it is a fantastic service. I know what he means when if you lose a few minutes here and there it can really add up to lost time by the end of the day. I used to do local pickup and delivery and losing a few minutes here and there really snowballs into quite a lot of lost time quickly.
So awesome to see small business owner do his thing. Thank so much for opening the ins and outs of his operation and for him sharing it!! Awesome to see him successful
This is amazing. So clean. When I used to get a 2-3 chord delivery, the dude would just dump it all on my front yard and we would spend a day to stack. 😂
I'm sure you're gonna pay a premium price for the quality of firewood and the service that they provide. This is what I would call , High end luxury firewood.
@@marcellemay7721 exactly. I wonder what he's charging for a face. I can get 20 pulp cord of pogs delivered to my yard for $1800 here in Northern Michigan. Granted i have to buck and split, but that comes out to like 50 face. That load lasts me about 4 years
That set up is almost my dream set up. ImEspecially his off road pallet jack. I have spent years trying to make it this efficient. I only hate all the shrink wrap, but it probably cannot be helped considering it all. We deliver through a lot of gates though, so that width is also a bit of an issue. Even still- Love the dedication to something so many people take for granted on the buyer side.
The walk to the second location across the bridge was simply beautiful. Capturing this video during the fall along with the accompanying music was top notch😊.
Matt’s business is a good example of paying attention to detail and using best practices. He has built a very successful business by making good financial decisions and taking care of his customers. His premium product may cost a little more but there is certainly a market in NW Pa for it. If I was his banker, I would nominate him for Small Business of the Year through the SBA. He deserves some recognition for his efforts to differentiate himself from the competition!
12:16 Now that trailer is really cool. I've rented drop deck open utility trailers for moving lathes and mills, but I've never seen a fully enclosed trailer of that size that was on air bags (or however they do it). Seems like adding disc brakes to the front wheels of the custom pallet jack wouldn't be that difficult, either. Use a motorcycle style master cylinder so there's no pumps or anything.
Right on, I am going to have to watch this over and over so I can build a similar pallet toter for my IBC totes. excellent ideas all around from ensuring they have product, to preserving its quality. Matt should be quite proud. The trailer is awesome as well.
I've seen many rough terrain pallet movers on the market, They can be bought for immediate delivery. Not exactly sure how his is modified. The ones I've seen run around $8- $9,000 if memory serves.Lots of videos on UA-cam about them. Great video here, thank you!
Well organized.. and dry my own a year and a half ahead of time like most of us wood burner people.. a wood shed covered 3 sides plus roof, out in the wind side so it drys good. Good on you and god bless america 🇨🇦👍🇺🇸
I noticed with the first delivery they initially were going to lay the new wood right in front of the homeowner’s current pile that was being worked down. I was like - oh no, that would be a disaster. But then in a later shot, they moved the new wood back out to unwrap.
Thanks guys! Really informative to see what the process can look like for firewood sales. Definitely the way i would go for for my home in the city. Cheers and hats off to some pretty cool innovations and professionalism. Cheers!
Congrats to the business owner !!!! Really unique and also the owner is intelligent and good hearted which shows in the care of the business and shines through to the customers! I wish him great sucess !!
This is exactly the way I would do it. Most firewood and delivery around here are just pull a cord out of the mud and drop it in a pile of sawdust on your yard. Great to see another business that prioritizes sustainable processes over maximizing profit.
Good job man. I had the idea of stacking wood on pallets years ago but I never bought the land to setup a location to process firewood but staking on pallets and wrapping makes it a clean and easy delivery not having to fill a dump trailer repeatedly.
Most wood delivery shows up with a contractor truck and just dumps a cord of wood on the ground. This is a much more elegant and clean way of delivering wood.
i would think you would need a brace at the top of the pallet of wood or the wood might push out the sides. its been working for 7 years so i guess it works fine. Great video!
The cross brace holds one side while moving and the wrap holds that to the other side then the wood stack not in motion doesn’t need much to just hold itself together sitting there
Wow very impressive. It takes a lot of wood customers to invest in equipment and processes that are this efficient. Type of business owner who is really dialled in to their customers needs. How can you compete with this process! I deliver ton bags of wood, dragging it off my truck and then a short distance for a growing number of customers but this is just next level 👏

This is how big-box or hardware stores sell firewood usually in germany :) In these crates that is. They don't go offroad usually, but that's ok for most people.
Adam, Firewood Guy should come up with a vinyl custom cover with a zipper front and the company logo with QR code and all contact info for those client without a storage.
In Denmark (and most of Northern Europe) you typically order pallets of wood online and/or in hardware/big box stores. The local dealers of firewood does a lot of the same…
I believe that there are electric pallet jacks that you could take all the way in the trailer to spot to park. Not as heavy as that gas fork lift . He probably already knows that.
I don't think those electric pallet jacks would do as well 'off-road' or with heaver grades. They may also not be able to lift as high to get over obstacles.
I'm about to go get a face cord of mixed hardwood with my own truck, $75. I can get my grandsons to unload and stack it for two Bojangles sausage biscuits ($5.) I just saved almost $600. Merry Christmas.
Over here in the UK we get tote bags delivered, but the palletised stuff has been around for quite a while.... a lot of it comes in from Eastern Europe and is often sold without middle man laying hands on it... Palletline drop it off at the customers address using a tail lift / pump truck kerbside... price for one of those crates delivered would be between £360 and £460
I'm glad you guys talked about the truck and trailer. Up in Michigan to pull that for personal use same set up is fine, commercially you need a dually for a tri-axle. I hate grey area rules.

You don't pay a fortune for your wood
Do you ringbark select trees 1-2 years before you need to fall them? you can drop trees that are already seasoned and ready to burn
Kiln dried, or moisture regulations, have been pressed the EPA. I'm not saying it's good to burn green wood, but EPA is evil.
