I can confirm that the gifts get better as their friendship points get higher (for those who gives craftable gifts) e.g. oven gifts will now include more complex dishes like cakes, jam roll, butter roll etc
I wasn't sure I was going to replay the game since there is no New Game plus but this video definitely inspired me! Seeing how horribly I can break the game before the second boss sounds like too much fun.
Terry has given me a lot of cool stuff. After farming him for a while I got a Proof of Wisdom, and Heart Pendent which I crafted into a Bracelet with a Happy Ring I found in a dungeon. Now I never have to worry about RP, I get double SP, and have a drop rate boost. I also did the level crafted the bracelet to get the stat bonuses from levels. So now my bracelet on top of the bonus effects, has over 600 in both atks.
Wait, so you have over level 50 in crafting, leveled both the happy ring and proof of wisdom to level 10 with level 10 items, made the bracelet with said items, (or did you upgrade the bracelet with the happy ring and proof of wisdom? or craft it into the initial bracelet? please let me know!) and then finished with more level 10 items?
I’m here looking into this cuz I always hand at least one handmade gift to villagers walking by. I was raising affection with Ryker and found the scales he gave me cool XD but the third time around I was taken aback by the gift he gave back. It was called the Basilisk Scale and apparently the game profile says you have to buy it for 300000 but it sells for only 10000. But I feel if it costs that much to begin with I should save it until I can actually use it cuz I am only at the 16th of summer first year and can’t craft with it yet 😅
could mix this together with the no time character event glitch and have a ton of gifts collected, I found a random event during the first year Summer 23rd where Lucy invites you to play their annual hide and seek (it comes up at the center tree) and during that event the game has no time counting down the day so it is the ultimate farming glitch, can't leave the town sure but you can go into the dungeon where Reinhard stays and farm money with Elsje, or go between your first farm dragon and come back to your farm (do the hit the stumps/stone 8 times trick) to collect alot of stone and wood, level up all skills without worry of wasting time, run out of RP head over to the inn and rest up full RP to farm with again, when I accepted the event it was 10:08am in my game so the inn is always open, just don't find everyone until you are ready to end the farming spree or get bored lol
I'm not sure how true it is that darroch hammer gifts scale with level, maybe it's because I'm playing easy mode, but he gave me the gigant hammer+ my third time receiving a gift from him. It has 5,555 attack and at this point I had no idea what rare drops were possible. My first was the wood hammer second the toy hammer, but I'm lv 130 now and he still gifts me those sometimes.
It would be even more insane if he happened to give you the Break Hammer, which has 7.2K ATK. and once you get your hands on at least one Light Ore, you can use that Light Ore when forging a new weapon (by adding it to the existing recipe, it counts as a collectible, not a mineral, so if you think it will count as a Mineral when making a weapon or shield, it will actually cause the creation attempt to fail and waste your materials in the process), then add the Break Hammer to the recipe as well, and once you forge that new weapon (even if it's something as trivial as a simple Broadsword!) it will have all of the stats of the Break Hammer rather than it's normal stats, while now being on a weapon with a much faster attack speed....which would completely break the game (and if you want to be really cruel, add a Melody Bottle to the new weapon and then follow that upgrade with a Tenfold Steel to have a weapon that can do absurd damage *AND* apply nearly every ailment in the game on nearly every hit as long as the targeted enemy isn't immune). That kind of damage output would completely trivialize every enemy in the entire game prior to the post-game, and it even trivializes post-game enemies as well. It's absurd. You normally can't get the Break Hammer until after you reach the second floor of the Floating Fortress at the very least, where you can find the *only* piece of Orichalcum available prior to post-game (unless Martin can potentially give you Orichalcum as well), and the Break Hammer is a level 77 Forging recipe, so it's literally an end-game weapon.
For the other 3 characters that haven't been mentioned, there are 2 girls and 1 guy (not including names.) They're listed in the order they join the town. Guy gives Pot dishes. Girl 1 gives Plants, such as a flower, grass or herb Girl 2 gives scales (basically Ryker but no weed[s])
Ryker has given me the most ridiculous scales (like Grimoire scale) and I'm wondering how he got a Grimoire Scale when he's only level one. I love your content btw keep up the good work!
the fact that Ryker gives you a weed first is just hilarious. very similar to 4. (they separated Bado's ability to give weapons (period) + accessories to just - hammers (Darroch) and Accessories (terry) so it is a bummer that you can't get other weapons_. I do think not having the Heart Pendant (you get this very early on in 4 - when you rescue Dolce) as a quest, at all is crazy. Terry can be STUPID stingy with this one.
whats sad is that terry has given me every pendant EXCEPT a heart pendant, dude even gave me three rosaries (which admittedly made collecting ores very easy) but for some reason insists on giving every accessory except the one i want lol
@@JohnEBoyVideos LOL this was me for so long, i just decided to play and be whatever who needs it. I legit got a heart crystal, and silver to make my own and then bam. Terry was all "I'm sorry." My Rng in the game has been really good with terry, and darroch. I’ve only given them about 15 gifts each, once, and I got the happy ring, heart pendant, and the silk scarf from terry. And a hammer from dorroch with 1789 attack. which isn’t the most powerful of the hammers he can give you, but i was still towards the beginning of the game at the time, and I was just wiping everything out lol.

Hey John! Do you plan to do another crafting guide for RF5? I’m hoping to see you explain the crafting system in this one, as I am a little lost but still wish for god tier accessories

I made an emerald ring with happy ring (given by Terry ) champ belt and heart pendant and stats of a star pendant ..all thanks to "dreaming suntide"..big thank you to all you you tubers ! Well normally I would agree that this system isn't game breaking especially when it comes to what I knew when originally making this video. But now that I know that martin can give you orichalcum from gifting not even half way through the first arc... Yeah it's game breaking if you get it.
There's a lot of broken stuff. Resource hp resetting when going to different areas, resources and chests respawning after loading saves, failed crafting leveling, broken wpns or magic out of field chests lol.
I've heard that you can buy ores you sell, but I have no idea what the trigger is. I tried it when I was experimenting with martin and he didnt sell the ores. It might be locked to a request board mission but I havent played enough of the game to be certain.
The first gift I got from Martin was Orichalcum and I didn’t believe it since I was only friendship level 4, maybe 5. Everything after has been bronze and iron though so I guess I used all my luck up first try.
This happened to me. I spent an hour real time giving him gifts and resetting, and he gave me probably 7 orichalchum, way too much iron, way too much bronze and absolutely no silver, gold or platinum. Which is what I wanted because I wanted a better watering can.
How far along in the game were you? If Martin can give you Orichalcum and Kumo gives you the palm claw (I have personally gotten the latter before fighting 9tailed fox), you can make the Break Hammer *extremely* early, which is a 7000+ Atk hammer. I'm pretty sure this could 1 shot most (if not all) of the Arc 1 bosses. Is it worth it? No. Is it interesting? To me, yes.
@@hisen3.146 It can one-shot most non-bosses even into the early post-game.
