- Join my interior design group. The 1st week is FREE: old-world-desi... I fell in love with this idea of a conservatory YEARS ago when I visited the Opryland Hotel for the first time. I had never experienced anything like that before and was smitten with the idea of an oasis in the home. Many years later, when visiting New Orleans we (Shaye and I) stayed in a French Quarter mansion that had an interior courtyard with that same utterly magical vibe.... Humid, tropical, crusty, mossy... it ticked ALL THE BOXES.

That mansion courtyard was a major inspiration for my own 'jardin d'hiver'. It was that inspiration that propelled me to make our greenhouse space something more than utilitarian. We did that huge makeover, brink-n-all in 2023, and in today's video I'm sharing that and ALL my special moments in my jardin d'hiver. I hope this video ticks ALL the boxes for you. Dreamy music, seeds, flowers sparkly snow, demo day, faux finish techniques, and more. How to make a conservatory, greenhouse before and after, conservatory before and after, plant tours and more.

Wow..what a beautiful accomplishment for you. I listen to the whole video, as some else said it was calming, soothing. I am always in the run as emergency nurse, just had surgery to my shoulder and lock me down..I was in depressive mood when I came to your video, omg, you made my day. I am a gardener and I started my first snapdragons not sure what kind but I am hoping they make it. ❤
❤❤❤Greetings from Germany
I so LOVE…LOVE…LOVE!!! I to have many plants in different rooms but would LOVE a green house in my home…maybe one day …❤😊🌿🪴
I heard you say your house remained empty for 5 years, my little house remained empty for 3 years 😮...I think they were waiting for each of us to transform them into our homes! The brickwork came out great, totally old world! 👍👏😊
Beautiful. I can't for the life of me grow Rosemary indoors. I have tried many times store-bought pots. Trimmed Rosemary trees. And yes digging up my Rosemary outside and planting it indoors. Each time it goes dry and then dead. Plenty of sunlight and minimal watering. Alas, failure after failure. What is your trick? Sincerely, defeated
I was going to ask the same question. In the past, my rosemary has stayed alive until about February then just dies. Hoping Angela tells us how she keeps her so beautiful.
There are some that just do NOT make it. Ever. Like the kind i grab at the grocery store around the holidays that are Christmas tree-shaped. They last about a month, they get fresh growth, and everything they just DIE. But if you grow them in pots outside and then bring them in, keep them AWAY from heat, mist them with water regularly, full to part sun, and water them when they are dry, and when you do, completely soak them. That's the trick.
I grow mine in a terrarium with my other herbs, all in separate pots, and they’re all thriving! It’s basically a controlled climate for them to chill over the winter months 😊
I remember when you first bought this house and land. You have transformed this property into a work of art! You and your family have worked so hard! 😊❤
Hello from SW MO! Watching this video made me realize how many of your videos I’ve not seen. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Great choice of music also. Peace-
I love the conservatory and can't wait to see what you do with the kitchen. We're going to have to tear my kitchen apart at some point and I'm scratching my head about how I'm going to cook. Hopefully it will be in the summer where we can do a lot of grilling outside.
Hi Angela! Seeing the conservatory in its humble beginning to what it is now is incredible! Lots of hard work (admire Joel so much) and your remarkable vision have given you the perfect place to be. No wonder it’s your favorite. You have so many calatheas and they all look healthy. When I purchased mine several years ago, the information research was that they would be “short-lived” houseplants and mine died after a year. What is your secret to these outliving their expectancy? Thank you for sharing; I am learning and enjoying at the same time.
Its been Soothing & Enjoyable watching this Chronicle along with the individual videos during your "Revamping Hiatus" Hope in Jah Sur la Rocher & all of you are thriving 😘
I am in love with your videos! I’d love to join you in Paris in Oct. I will truly consider making a decision in the next week! Also I will check into your Old World Society. It’s so exciting! My sister and I went to Paris in 2003. It was life changing!
Loved your calming and lovely conservatory/gardening content, did not find the subscribe feature but it is hectic in my house today ,. Is there content of your New Orleans available? Thank you, you gave my spirits a lovely boost. Sincerely Rachel Metz, Santa Barbara, CA
I’ve been away for a while and catching up on your videos. Angela, do you mind sharing the names of your dahlias? I like the combination of colors you used for your arrangement. Thank you and Bon Courage. Spring and Summer are a’coming. I can’t wait to be out in the garden again.
HAPPY MONDAY Angela, family, and fur babies. THANKS for letting us remember. I LOVE IT! STTB
So loved seeing these videos again ❤ they still inspire me!!!!
How often do you water your plants in your conservatory. Great Video
Hi Angela please tell me how you have come to love the bright green trim and the bright blue' besides it being pretty does it have significant from your past or is it a nod to paris.❤
Gorgeous transformation 😍😊
You mis identified your Fiddle Leaf fig as a fiddle head fern.
Love that painting by your little Eiffel tower , did you paint that ?
Thanks for the video Dawn!
Hi Ang, I've been moving...lots of painting refinishing floors, new appliances. Just wanted to tell you what a GEM Joel is! He's so interested in doing things you want done. Apparently he has the same dreams you have. Good luck with the kitchen!♥️♥️♥️😘
How exciting about the tiles and the painting! Can't wait.
Wow, Angela, love this!
What is the filler you grow and arrange at 20 minute mark?
It looks like the herb: Sage. Great for roasts and soups. And yes, as a filler too …. It loves the sun and do not over water. It air dries well too, will store well in a glass jar for use in the winter time and any time of year.
Beautiful video, I love the chronicles of the conservatory. I have watched all of your videos but, sometimes I do forget the transformation. I was wondering what brand of watercolor brush you recommend? Thank you again for the recap and showing us the process & transformation of your space.
I listen to your videos because...I enjoy the content, choice of music, the sound of your voice and your families voices don't irritate me. The sound of your voice evokes interest and calmness, even when you are excited about a new adventure. Your videos are fun to watch!
Thanks Parisian farm girl,so creative. Do they all go outside then? Mine all go out the door when danger of frost is past and stay out until November. I’m glad to have a place for my plants, they have their own space too in our retirement home… I wasn’t going to have many plants but you know how that goes.
Angela ! I love you kitchen just the way they are , with that french style, is unique worm in cozy . I can wait to see the transformation , you going to do in you kitchen❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful handwriting! I don't see that often nowadays. Chapeau!
The scene of the cat beside a plant reminds me of Beatrix Potter.
It is wonderful!!
Just wondering if you love France so much, why aren’t you living there?
You can't just up and move to a different country, she would need a visa for her and the rest of her family.
It looks amazing 💚
