Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- I like to keep my chiller in constant temperature mode so that I know that my laser is in a safe operation temperature. This video shows how to program these setting on you OMTech CW 5202 or CW 5200.
Chiller settings:
To enter programming press the UP button and set button for 5 seconds until 0 is displayed. Then enter the passcode "08" or "0.8", press SET
F3 "Constant Temp Mode"- 0
SET
F9 "Lowest Water Temp" - 16
SET
F0 "Water Temp" - 18
SET
RST
At the end of the setting press the RST button to save all settings and exit to operation.
Here is the chiller manual for reference.

Hey Brandt.....you also need to press the RST button once you are finished with all the changes. I didn't and it did not save the changes. Just a heads up! 😎
Thanks man, you've really helped me along the way. Truly appreciate you taking the time to cut a trail for us coming up behind you.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Just got my chiller today so im going to try and get it set up. I will be following your video for the set up. Thank you. Take care and stay safe. I subscribed as well.
Couldn’t have setup my laser without your videos 👍
Thank you for a quick and concise guide! Straight to the info I needed. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Excellent to the point video, Thank you!
Thanks, don't know why OmTech doesn't relay this info on their web site, but your video was great and I hope that resolves my E3 Error.
Note: for the CW-5202 I just purchased this week, this still works, but to activate the advanced control mode, you have to push the up arrow SLIGHTLY before you push the set button.
Dude, you rock. I've been messing with this thin (newer CW-5200) for the last hour. The Chinese make great products, but they really need to hire someone who speaks English to write their manuals. LOL Thanks, bud.
🎉🎉🎉🎉 love it thank you
Thanks for the help and clarification. I have the 5200.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Can you describe a little more what these two settings actually do? I just received my first laser a couple days ago and I’m trying to understand as much as possible. Thanks!
Inteligente mode matched the ambient temperature and constant temp mode will keep the water cooled to the temp that you set.
Thanks man... super helpful!
Thank you again!
I found that I needed to set F0 to the water temp I wanted, because the changes made to F8 and F9 I believe are for the automatic mode. But we switched F3 for the control mode to be constant instead.
I was finding that my water temp was not going to the settings from F8 and F9 until I made the change to F0 to be 18 instead
Thank you!!
Hi, just wondering after I've set it up for 19 degrees on constant, the compressor doesnt shut off when it hits 19 degrees? Does it run continuously in constant temp mode. Thx
My chiller when set and up are pressed it goes to -2, 0 never comes up. Is there another combo or am I pressing a third button?
I just recently purchased the 5202 & it feels like there is water already inside it. Mind you, I purchased it brand new directly from OMtech. Is this normal? I can see & hear it. I just don’t want it to not be distilled or any other fluid not regulated for this device.
I've followed your instructions, which are great by the way. I even repeated the steps thinking that turning off the power strip its connected to, caused it to revert back to the default settings. However, my chiller still goes above the max temp. Is this normal?
At the end you need to press RST to finalize all the settings not SET
How come in the manual on number 6 it says press ret to save your changes and then exit? It says pressing set will not save your changes
Yep, the video instructions are NOT correct (the video should be updated).....IMHO
I live up north and my machine is in the garage. Guessing I'll need to use antifreeze mixed in with the water - what ratio would you recommend? I have the CW-5200.
100% rv antifreeze
Setting up my CW5202 chiller with my new Omtech MF2028 60w. Connected lines(no kinks)to inlet/outlet Set A...filled to proper level and turned unit on. UNIT ALARM will not shut off and keeps beeping. Tube filled and do not see leaks. Do I need to set constant temp before alarm shuts off or can there be another reason for alarm. Appreciate any insight.
Have you made sure that you have your connections correct?
Chiller outlet ➡️ laser inlet
Laser outlet ➡️ chiller inlet
If you have the 5202, you have to put a short tube on the ports you aren't using if you are just running 1 laser...ie: a short piece of tubing running from the input to the output ports on the back of the chiller as a loop, then run the lines like normal to the laser on the other input/output ports...
my water tube is building up condensation. what can I do to change this
The easies would be to get some foam insulation like what is used for insulating copper water pipes in your house. You should be able to get that from Home Depot or any other home store or hardware store.
remember, if you live in a hot humid area a setting too low could cause condensation to form on your tube and potentially arc from the high voltage connection. ask me how I know...
I live in Texas you just described my weather what do you do about that?
@@angeladelreal9046 the chillers have a mode where they regulate the water temp relative to the ambient temp. you will have to read that hard to understand chinese manual and work out what temp is right for your conditions while still keeping the tube at a safe temp. I live in oklahoma so we have similar conditions.
My 5200 Chiller temp keeps going up even in constant mode set at 16. I don't know what to do and I am never going to get this thing up and running if I keep running into issues :( I love your videos though!
I sat holding the two buttons for over a minute and 0 doesn't come up. Is my unit defective? Is there a reset?
Did you hold the correct two of the four buttons?
I noticed you seem to have defeated that annoying chirping. Can you share how that was accomplished.
Right here…

@@BeardedBuildsCo I saw that one already. I'm talking about the chirp from the chiller alarm.
A chirp from the chiller is not normal operation. Are you getting normal flow? Does it seem like the water is pulsing?
@@BeardedBuildsCo I assumed it was announcing a swing in temp like the controller for my AC mains heatbed controller on my CR-10 with 750w bed heater. I followed the tube routing inside the machine and found a kink in the line at the Y. The kink was caused by a short run of tube that was actually too long. Chirp eliminated. Thanks for putting me on the right path.
Awesome! Glad you got it figured out!
I press and hold and nothing happens
tried it, no luck. It always showed -0.0 with not just one 0. I unplugged unit and tried again no luck
@beardedbuildsco I am having the same issue, any idea?
Same here
I figured it out, when you get 0.0, go up to 0.8 hit set then you can follow the steps
My F numbers are not coming up. What am I doing wrong?
did you ever figure it out ? having same problem
Me Too...@@gregoryfletcher7170
Hey Jeff thanks for the info. However when I press both Set & Reset I cannot get it to go to "0".. It starts to count down in two places. Thanks
What settings can I use to keep my drinks cold while using the laser?
36 degrees duh 🤣
Would like to know is the Constant Temp Mode necessary? Would running out of box suffice? Just trying to understand the difference, like is it more useful in regions that have extreme temps?
Please advise
Thank you
Literally me pressing the up arrow and set doesn’t do anything
What does your manual say to do?
Need to press RST to save settings to finish
Yep, that is clarified in the description
This is a knock off, not a genuine S&A 5200 chiller…
No one said it was an S&A chiller.
