This is the crux of it for me: if past prophets were wrong about doctrine, then current prophets can be wrong too. And if they can be wrong about such basic aspects of the gospel as the nature of God, why do we have them at all?

    Sir Nemo,
    I find this BLOODY BRILLIANT!
I’ve lost Five family members to suicide in the last four years.
There is no doubt in my mind as to the origin of their distress.
“Leaders” consistently employ mixed messages, downright lies, control, manipulation and SHAMING as (some) of their methods to confuse, isolate and misdirect those who have put their trust them.

Absolutely fantastic, full of great gotcha statements. Suicide is something that hits the Mormon so much, and yet it is constantly swept under the rug out of shame. Honesty hits the church where it's priorities really are. The bank. Time to for anyone who's been through the temple to get that endowment back with interest.

The work you are engaged in is intentionally trying to destroy the faith of others by way of your interpretations of scripture and misguided judgments of what Church leaders say, in order to comfort yourself. Despite the countless examples in the scriptures of those that once followed Jesus, including Judas, along with the many false teachers like Korihor, you follow their examples. Renlund has been giving variations of the talk for a couple of years now…and he has definitely toned it down. I listened to a version of it where he spoke for a couple of minutes about situations that it is not appropriate to even ask for personal revelation. His example was someone asking him for help locating a buried treasure. I’m not sure how many current people who are searching for gold by praying, but I can think of a historic one. Anyways, he went through way too long of a lost off when to not seem personal revelation. Guess where we should look instead? The leaders 😊. It was quite the talk.

Funny. God tells us to seek revelation, but the "leaders" tell us to have the faith NOT to be healed. Read the parable in D&C section 101 about the redemption of Zion. The key is the TOWER. Then read the first half of section 124. The "TOWER" was the Nauvoo Temple which was never completed. So the tower Joseph was supposed to throw down for the redemption of Zion was what? Here's a hint. The Lord never told the saints to build a temple in Salt Lake City. He told them they had an alotted time to build the temple in Nauvoo, and if they failed the church would be rejected WITH ITS DEAD and be scattered and that the Melchezidec priesthood which was taken away in 1832 would not be restored without the temple and that no baptisms for the dead would be accepted while the church was scattered, WHICH IT STILL IS TO THIS DAY.
I give this challenge to all who read the scriptures honestly. Read what the Lord said about the Nauvoo temple. Read what the Lord said in 101 about the redemption of Zion. Those who claim to be prophets, Seers, and revelators are liars and the worst kind of hypocrites. Instead of seeking God's face, they excuse themselves for NOT seeking his face yet claim authority. A true Apostle is a SPECIAL WITNESS, yet none of these guys even claim to have that witness, but only the whispering of the Spirit we all have claim to if. Christ WANTS us to seek his face. Thats what Moses said. That IS a ZION PEOPLE. THE ONES WHO SEE HIS FACE. SO KEEP SEEKING, and if anyone says that isn't the way, THEY'RE A LIAR.

The church gives so many mixed messages. It keeps believing members from ever being able to pinpoint actual doctrine, and thereby keeps them in a continual loop of trying to discover the true doctrine, which makes them feel like they're on an ongoing journey, when in reality they're running in circles. If we know anything about the male God then the female God matches. She is omnipresent and omnipotent. Is a perfect divine being. Hears and answers us. Loves us. On and on. If God is perfect, she is perfect. I just think so many men couldn't really see her as an equal so let's just erase her and get back to business. Grrrr

It's absurd how the church teaches that it's the one true church and that gospel doctrine never changes, when it changes CONSTANTLY. If a modern LDS member went back in time to like 1880, the church would bear zero resemblance to the modern church, if anything it would be far more similar to the FLDS Church.
As a side note, I haven't been active since 2010, but I still go to church every year or so on a whim, and it's wild how much the church has changed even over that 12 year span. It's like the frog boiling in the pot metaphor the church is so fond of using, the change is so gradual that you may not notice it's happening unless you're on the outside of it.

Though Mormon is just on my moms side of the family. I joined the Mormon church at the beginning of last year. I was baptized the day before Valentine’s Day. Mainly for this girl/family I knew at work since 2016 that’s Mormon. I helped out the ONLY family friend ALOT and when I posted a Facebook picture of me and my missionary friend that was the one that baptized me, standing in front of the mesa temple. My aunt said in the comments saying your family got married there. The girl that likes me that said she won’t stalk me, seen her comment and since then her and her family have been ignoring my calls and text messages. My family said they are users and are worthless and move on from them. This was back in march when this happened. I then started lacking showing up to the Mormon church at times since then and in a temple class 4 weeks left of it and at the end I WONT pay that 10% and go in the temple for the first time. I haven’t gave the church a single penny since I have been there for a year/a few months now until a girl deep down inside likes me I meet there. But in the end I will probably just go back to being a Christian and be on the same path again as my parents and sisters but I will continue following the words of wisdom from the Mormon church. I may meet the right girl at a Christian church ⛪️, by the way I am 28 years old almost 29 years old, never had a girlfriend in my entire life, breaking away from video games where I spent most of my life on, and now trying to get out of my parents house to see how life truly is trying to spent more time with friends and family these days. I feel like I putting my time in too much on social media again. I put my Facebook on deletion a few weeks. So that girl can no longer think I am stalking her though I never have and always ask before I show up to their house. I may get on it by the end of each month to re activate and to re put it on deletion, not on deactivation. So it’s there if I ever decide to go back on it in the future. I also feel like there’s just too much negativity on it thats why i deleted my original one at the end of 2020. You have a great day sir and thatnks again for this Mormon video. I know Joseph smith had like 44 wife’s.🤣

Ive decided to stay 'in' the church, but not 'of' the church. Where else would I go? They have 'all gone astray', like Nephi predicted.
I had a vision when I asked for it. I was afraid it was it inappropriate to ask, and in my prayer, I told God that if it was wrong or inappropriate to ask, then I was sorry for asking and understood. Like when Alma was afraid to sin, he went to the Lord.
In the middle of my apology, the Spirit interrupted me and told me that 'He would show me tonight' (it was the middle of the day when I was praying).
Always good to His word, the Lord showed me something that has taken me years to fully understand. I still dont think I understand the last part (it was a multi part vision).
Anyone who tells you NOT to seek revelation from the Lord is someone you should run away from.

Yeah, it's amazing that back in the 1800s "the Lord" was reportedly busy micro-managing all the personal affairs (no pun intended) of the "leadership," but now has evidently chosen to be distant and basically silent in so many ways. What's he doing . . . busy attending to other planets' problems or something? It's amazing how he was "revealing" stuff about every little decision and movement, but now he's evidently decided to be mysteriously aloof. THINK about it.

Nephi: "How is it that ye do not keep the commandments of the Lord? How is it that ye will perish, because of the hardness of your hearts? Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said? - *If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you."*

Friends - the apostles have continueally encouraged all of us to seek personal revelation. Personal revelation and revelation given through the prophet work together to clarify God's will. Neither personal revelation nor revelation through the prophet should stand alone. They work together. God reveal information as we're willing to accept it. Please pause and consider all that has been said, not just taking words out of context.

I wouldn't call it deliberate lying. Rather this is confusion amongst a leadership composed of men who retired from successful business or professional careers and have served in several callings. They also have the connections to rise up the church organization chart. They are not theological scholars. My sense is that as issues arise, they address them pragmatically like businessmen, not as theologians.
