    Oh dear Joey!!!!! Ha ha ha, i laughed so much with your opening comment and can't stop smiling about it. Great video and review. All of his accents sound about right to me, including the dutch. The intro made me day

    I would tell you that the Dutch/English accent was the best, but this would cost you 40 Euros

    I'm late to your Al appreciation fest, but as a Scot, I will say his impersonation of many Scottish accents (not just one!) and choice of vocabulary is perfect, as are all his UK and beyond forays to my ears. As someone just a few years older than him, I share his obsession with WW2, and much enjoyed his well researched 2022 book "Command: How the Allies Learned to Win the Second World War". Plus he plays the drums!

    Hi there i can say from experience Al cracks up a lot during his live shows. I finally got to see him live this year and he lived up to expectations. As for a British accent, they change so much every 20 miles in the uk. You could never tie it down to a common one. The one people always try to emulate is a very posh accent, which isnt that common here. I think ive seen you American cricket channel as im a huge fan and used to play to a high level and my sons play even higher than i did

    I think the Brits are good at accents is because they are a small country with every nationality in the world living there so they are mixed. And because British TV shows all the original shows from the country of origin. So they just pick all the accents up while having the TV on in the background. Where in America you're more spaced out and live in your own little areas. And America takes other countries TV shows and makes their own American versions with American accents so Americans can understand it. So Americans don't get used to all the other accents in the world. This is why so many American reaction channels are always saying they can't understand the accents when reacting to videos. Or say the accent is too thick for them to understand. As a Brit you name an accent and I can mimic it instantly with ease without even thinking. It's just there stored in the back of the brain.

    • @capitalb5889
      @capitalb5889 Рік тому

      No. It's because we don't have an accent to start with, so it's like a blank canvas to paint other accents on.
      😉

    • @bitsbobs8158
      @bitsbobs8158 Рік тому

      @@capitalb5889 Yeah, and we pick up accents from TV and Radio etc.

    • @capitalb5889
      @capitalb5889 Рік тому

      @@bitsbobs8158 I'm actually pretty bad at accents, but while TV may help, we typically only get American programmes shown. However, we do come across different accents in day to day life, particularly in the London area.

    • @bitsbobs8158
      @bitsbobs8158 Рік тому

      @@capitalb5889 Yup. I was discussing this with my American friends. In the US they are more spaced apart and make US remakes of foreign shows. So Americans aren't as exposed to different accents as much as Brits are. And because Britain is a much smaller country we're around different accents all the time and, we aire the original versions of foreign shows. Ever since I was a kid I could mimic pretty much any accent you ask me to. I put that down to what I said above. And it would explain why British actors are so well known for being good at foreign accents.

    Interesting comment that we are not religious very much. Al asked for a Christian because we are a multicultural society and the audience may have also included Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, so on and so forth. Being religious does not mean having to be Christian. My daughter has become very religious having embraced Islam. My neighbour is a Hindu and prays in the Temple, but also uses a Roman Catholic Church to light a candle for someone. As for me, I consider myself to be religious because I have a belief although do not follow a faith.

    Trouble with Americans doing English accents is they always pick RP which is not as common as they think, you should listen to some local dialects for an accent then try to write the words down as they sound then repeat them, so the phrase, ‘ am I from north or south London’ would look like, ‘am I from Norlf or Sowf London’ remember practice the words that sound wrong so you don’t have to think about how they sound normally, that way it’s more natural, or natcheral in a London accent.

    Great channel guys BTW.
    But it baffles me why America calls itself the land of the free when the majority of Americans on UA-cam daren't say certain words not only on UA-cam but in day to day life.
    I notice this regularly because nobody/ hardly anybody gets triggered in the uk by the words Americans are not aloud to say.
    Your speech is clearly monitored

      Not necessarily this channel, but a lot of people pause in reaction videos or skip content, as they are not sure how they should or are allowed (!) to react. They don't want to lose subs as a result. Social media has creeped in to the offline world in the US more than anywhere else, conditioning a new generation. Companies have also taken heed in the way of how they advertise, and social media platforms also moderate more than they used to. Users (including those on yt) point fingers towards one another as a hobby, constantly looking for someone they dislike to say something so that they can take out of context or interpret in a way they deem as wrong. The main media and social media bounce off one another for gain which in turn slowly influences everyone, whilst online users end up addicted to arguing over topics such as race. People may argue it partly comes down to a strive for political correctness and the aim of a perfect world where no one can be offended, but in a society where social media has ruined attention spans and the ability to listen to differing opinion, in a multic society with differing beliefs, this can never be achieved, and may end up dividing people more than anything else

    glad ya can see past his arrogant 'set in his own ways' character, a lot of ppl actually think thats him its not, which i think demands respect that he convinces us he's like the type of person all of us know...whilllleee giving a bit of knowledge out there because one thing you notice is when talking history or politics he's often teaching things that we know or thought we did about a certain subject, but in an ignorant nationalistic person kind of way saying..aghhh on the contrary actually..but in an uneducated person thats just learnt a new fact today this will make me superior to others kind of way....its brilliance subtly done.....sorry about the spelling i was nervous...aint one of you an english teacher?....and I'm english hahaha no excuse have i?

      I disagree that maturity has anything to do with it. I get that’s your opinion but here’s mine. I personally don’t use strong language in my own life. It’s not a popular thing to not use strong language but it’s my choice not to. It would be against my own way of doing things to have it on this channel. It actually takes longer to edit out the words. But I will always stay true to myself. Sorry it offends you.
