This song always makes me think of my late brother, Jimmy. He’s been gone for 16 years now, and I often think of him as a shooting star, racing through the cosmos. Rest well, Jimmy. I love you and miss you with all my heart. ❤️
I hate to sound like an old fart, but when greats like Paul Rodgers are gone, all we'll be left with is shit. One of the truly underrated vocalists of all time. He's still got it....man has he still got it!
@@blaineedwards8078 Sorry, bro. Lost my wife to suicide last year. Life ain't easy sometimes, that's for sure. A wise man once said, "the more you cry, the less you pee", but not making light of your situation....just trying to put a smile on your face.
THANK YOU! I've been saying that about Christine for a long time now. Paul Rodgers is easily one of the greatest rock singers. Compared to everybody else, his voice has aged so well. He's still got it, that's for damn sure.
This song brings my back to my late sister's house back in the late 70's this song was always playing when I would go to visit. Miss you Lori, turns out you were a shooting star just passing through for a moment.
Paul's admiration for the great Otis Redding is so evident right here. Such similar phrasing and choice of notes and dynamics. This is perfect in its imperfection!
Paul is, was, will always be.... The Voice. But how cool is it that the great Kim Mitchell has his own radio show up there in our sleepy cousin to the north? Bad Company meets the Max Machine!
Perfect example of why I call this man The Master. Put on the spot he graciously agrees to sing, and man can he sing. Mr Paul Rodgers.. simply the Best !!
My Fathers Brother was a cop in NY and was killed in the line of duty. (on the L.I.E on Long Island) writing a ticket. A Newsday drunk driver killed him. This is his song. The 4 years prior to his death, he was known as "A Shooting Star" Whenever I called him , I would say , "Hello Shooting Star" He was named after this song years before his death.
One of the great voices of our time. I sold newspapers in the 70s to buy music and Bad Co came onto the scene in that time in South West Africa (Namibia)🤙🏻🤙🏻
Listening to this 10 years later in Thailand, as a boy from Rochester across Lake Ontario from Q107. About the time this was released in '75 I was opening a McDonald's competitor on Sunday mornings, and when the weather was right put Q107 on the crappy speakers but it made droll work so much easier... and gave me a chance to exercise my evolving singing voice at that influential age 16-17. Loved this song from day 1 and occasionally get a chance to still sing it in one of the 100's beer bars in Pattaya, at least prior to 2020. An eternal classic, Paul Rogers, Shooting Star, and I hope Q107! Still playing classic rock for 2 countries!
Paul, you have given me a lifetime of joy. I remember hearing Bad Company upon its release and your voice, style, phrasing and passion shone through. I then immersed myself in Free....WOW. I have seen Paul many times Bad Co, The Firm, Queen & Paul Rodgers Band. Heres all you have to know.........NEVER a bad performance & giving his fans the songs they want to hear MOST. Please come my way again SOON......I'm ready and waiting. TY
Paul, loved the world, and the blues and this is the results! A loving soul....loving the world. my mentor for 40+ years. Thank God...for this great man....Paul Rodgers!!
Thank You Kim for posting all these cool interviews, songs, and stuff (we all know you run the Q). Gotta say the nicest (OK maybe the only good) thing about passing thru the GTA is your show! Come to the maritimes sometime!
A couple of years ago I went on my son in laws stag night in Newcastle went in this bar and they put all right now on cranked up to 11 on one of the best sound systems I’d heard, that song is 50 years old and it made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, he’s a national treasure for us in the U.K.
Paul Rodgers is what I have been saying for years to everybody He the voice of the 70's and he 's become the voice of today in music too. Rock Steady Rock On The great 1... There a lot of good singer and great singers but there no 1 like the voice Paul Rodgers.
First album I bought was Bad Co. I played it so much I wore out the grooves. Paul Rodgers is one of the best rock n roll singers of all time! Soulful. Class act.
This song is an example that Paul just wants to connect with the people that loves his music. He takes money out of the equation, and its all about direct. True, we are all getting old, but not too old to hear some guy that wants to sing. What a great post.
I attended a Bad Co. Concert a couple years ago.Accompanied by my fav Joe Walsh. My girlfriend Shawn was always in love with Paul. Said we might go to jail if she ran the stage. I'd happily go with her. Shawn passed September 8th, 2018 from her battle with cancer. She was a survivor and a fighter and my RocknRoller sister. I'm happy to have shared so much of life and was blessed to know her. Cheers all to great friends and music. ♡♡♡

sshhhh, not yet.

Love Paul Rodgers! Best blues voice in the world. And best-looking singer.
Paul Rogers is the real deal and a living legend all in one.
A Great rendition of Shooting 🌟 Star.
The greatest rock singer of all time.
Rodgers & Steve Marriott both amazing British singers!
Michael Tarnpoll delete “rock” from that statement and it’s still true 😉✌🏻🎶
THANK YOU! I've been saying that about Christine for a long time now. Paul Rodgers is easily one of the greatest rock singers. Compared to everybody else, his voice has aged so well. He's still got it, that's for damn sure.

This song makes me cry every single time. We've all known shooting stars.
A sad song about Paul Kossoff and many others who were lost along the way. Great voice!
I know him personally . One of the greatest people I've ever met!
Yeah how lucky
He seems like the coolest chap ever. I bet he's a great guy.

Paul Rodgers was born with a god-given talent and he shares it with us ❤❤❤
Paul has a great voice
Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd have be my 2 favorites of all time.
@@johndanko1882 Ronnie Van Zant was a huge Paul Rodgers fan and I would hazard a strong guess that both Donnie and Johnny are as well.
Bad Company and Fleetwood Mac for me...
@@ladykay917 Can I just ask, which era FM, Peter Green RIP or Stevie Nicks? Both are great but for different reasons, very different bands.
Remember when singers could really sing? Great post!!

So live, so Paul Rodgers , so very very special! Thank you for posting this. Brilliant 🌌💕☘️.
No doubt
The Voice.
Period.
Free, Bad Co, The Firm.

Shooting Star is my favorite Bad Company song and I saw Paul twice in concert, once with Queen and then once with his band.
