We joined in and after about ten minutes, they said "We've gotta go now, we're on". We got a mention from them, great days and gigs were fun and cheap!
Paul Rodgers voice and intuitive fills are just perfect. He still has that rockstar voice and presence. He was always the man - Free, Bad Company and all the others
always loved how these guys could get so much out of a minimalist sound, they weren't up there to noodle and do tricks, just great song writing and killer vocals, and don't let the minimalist sound fool you as a player, they are one of the hardest bands to cover.
Paul Rodgers created two of my favorite ROCK bands, Free and Bad Company. Free's "Alright Now" was the first real rock song I was introduced to by my Uncle.. he always introduced me to great music that was never playing in my house LOL... Free was the moment I fell in love with Rock, Bad Company got me through my twenties.
This was my best friend's favorite Bad Company song from when we were in our mid-teens. Linda died in a house fire in 2011. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. 💔
