"Hi doc, I don't know whether I have TMD or not, but I have experienced jaw locking three to four times in the past when I yawn. Is this normal? I don't have pain or other symptoms of TMD. Additionally, 2-3 times I have experienced swelling in my lower jaw after yawning, which causes a lot of pain for about 5 seconds, and then it vanishes. I don't know whether this is normal or not. Can you please reply and tell me what I should do?"
