I plan on traveling around the United States with my Model 3 but I'm going to keep it simple. I just put memory foam in my trunk that I pull down with the seats when I want to sleep. The car is clean for normal use and the trunk isn't full. Before I go I want to get the refrigerator that they make for Model 3s that fits in the sub trunk but limit my non-restaurant food to things that don't have to be cooked and I want very little food or food related items that don't fit in that fridge. I'll have one bag of clothes in a gym bag that goes in the frunk. I'll shower at Planet Fitness after working out and wash one outfit per day in that shower by hand to then dry in the trunk, hanging up with fans blowing on them. I'll place a plastic sheet above the foot area of my bed with some silicone creating a perimeter to catch water and I'll just wipe it off with a paper towel after it's accumulated. If that doesn't dry it quickly enough I'll put the seats down and drive with the windows open for awhile. If it goes well I want to get it on a ship to do the same thing in Europe or other parts of the world. I'd like to go through Mexico, Central and South America but I'm not sure if there's a safe path through all of that with a good enough charging network to make that happen. Canada should be fine in the areas that have a decent population. I'd like to get to Alaska but the Supercharger network doesn't give a route that works. I don't know if the other fast charger networks can make it happen. I might have to wait on that too until the network develops. Full Self Driving and camping mode seem to make the Tesla the perfect car for this though.
@gedditoffyachest2178 I just finished 4 months in it traveling the east coast. I ended up buying an inflatable mattress made for the Model 3. That makes it much better than my previous setup. It folds compactly enough to leave a significant amount of trunk space. I made a slide out table that hangs from the top of the trunk to hold my stove and sink. I plan on improving that kitchen setup before I leave on my next trip. I want to explore the West and then Canada for several months.
Good collaboration with Sandro! I came back to your channel to see how you were doing after running across his channel. I am glad you have uploaded so much content since then. Looks like the channel has grown a lot since its birth. Congratulations and looking forward to the journey!
I drive the same car, same colour… the car is nearly invisible at night, but I highly recommend tinting the rear windows for better privacy… also removing the rear seat bench and putting it in the front overnight gives you the extra comfort of a completely flat sleeping surface
To prevent wipers freezing overnight, put them on “service mode” which brings them up a little so they defrost with the windshield. Problem solved! No need for your cover. For infos: Go to your “owners manual” then “Driving” then “Cold weather best practice”
Great video. Glad to see there are 2 more like me. I can't do the Tesla camping full time yet, and probably never, but enjoy it everytime I get the chance. I am hoping to be on the road the whole month of March. I got 25 days straight last year, hoping to break that record this year.
@Living in Tesla It was good, but too rushed. I will have to look back at your channel, it has been so long I don't this video, or your channel. I need to edit my video and put some videos up on my channel, but the truth is there is alot of work in editing, so I will likely never happen. Lol Thanks for the reply
You can fit a twin mattress topper on top of the Tescamp if you find it uncomfortable in the model 3 and presumably the s, x, and y as well. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Tescamp by itself, but now I've got ~4 inches of memory foam when I go out camping!
@@LivinginTesla hi ,Jimmiy, our Tesla Camping Mattress also is memory foam,we can send to you for free if you Would like to collaborate a UA-cam with us.
I love this video. I just got a BougeRV fridge for my Model 3, in the instructions it says the fridge needs space on its sides to avoid overheating, have you ever had any issues with that? I’m asking since the Astro AI in the video is roughly the same size as mine but looks like a tight fit.
Hey Jimmy enjoying your content! Could you please do a video on why you chose Tesla model Y (not other ev or gas suv)? What are pros and cons of living in ev suv vs traditional suv?
Thanks for the suggestion Vick! I may do a video in the future, but overall the advantage of an EV over gas suv is having climate keeper for camping and you can basically travel for free with free charging stations.
So cool to see another model 3 car camper! Mine is from 2019 (a Grandma now), very jealous of the electric trunk… and the shape of the side windows is slightly different too, esp the little triangles at the back… I put my fridge in the subtrunk, looks very similar to Sandro’s but only 15L due to the size of the subtrunk. Fancy a European trip guys?? 🤪
Awesome video! I have a model 3 but never thought about traveling and camping inside. Where do you guys usually spend the night for cheap and safe? Camping grounds?

Yep, I used to do that in cold climates. Totally forgot about it but I think the cover will probably save lots of time and energy.
Newer models have heaters :)

Do you plan to get Tesla cybertruck for traveling?
Hopefully, but we'll see.
Awesome video! I have a model 3 but never thought about traveling and camping inside. Where do you guys usually spend the night for cheap and safe? Camping grounds?
I've read people find camp grounds and if that doesn't work out, a discrete parking lot, but preferably an ER parking lot.
I usually just park wherever I feel safe. Streets, lots, woods, chargers...
Where did you get the mini fridge
Here's Sandro's link: amzn.to/3hk1JS7
What’s crazy is that you actually leave room for empty back seats while living in your car. Really living lean.
Should have gone w/ the Model Y.
Is he doing ubereats Doordash for living?

my question is, if you want to live out of your car, why in a model 3? get a big SUV , like a Chevy Tahoe or Suburban
