"Winton told no one that he did this, not even his wife. In 1988, his wife found a scrapbook full of pictures of the children and letters from parents in their attic. She arranged to have Winton's story appear in newspaper"
It's arguable he saved thousands of lives. Sure he saved 669 children directly, but those kids went on to have families that wouldn't have even existed without him. This man deserves to be treated like a rock star anywhere he goes.
I am from Czech rep. , one of the Winton children called Tom Graumann came to our school with presentation about this hero, when the movie about him has ended, none of the people in that room was moving. Everybody were paralyzed with tears on their faces. Even I ,who hadn´t cried on funerals of my both grandmas, had tears with my eyes. It was like best moment ever
My cousin married one of Winton's rescued, Bobby Kingsley. He is in the front row on the left. Sadly, he passed away earlier this year. Aleha ha-shalom.
Very touching and a beautiful clip. I'm a young man and that's something to aspire to be. Lets hope there is never a need for that type of courage again. Well done mate!
The mark of a true hero is doing good, not for recognition or reward, but for good's own sake. This man wouldn't have ever taken credit for his heroic acts if his wife hadn't found a scrapbook in his attic with names and relatives of those saved. If heaven doesn't hold a place for this man, there's no hope for us.
A hero who created more change than he ever could've imagined. Children who would grow up, affect the world around them, have their own children who would also impact the world. And here, a coalescence of the many ripples in history he made.
Every once in a while youtube shows you something you had never heard of. He saved 669 children, and he is sat there surrounded by them some 40 years later. That instantly wells me up with tears
The world needs more people like Nicholas Winton. He should get the Nobel peace award. This makes me cry every time I watch this. What a dear and brave man he is. It said he save 669 lives, well if you consider the children and grandchildren from these lucky survivors it would be in the thousands. God Bless all of them and Nicholas Winton.
I don't cry easily. I'm not fond of emotive stuff. I cried like a sissy, and if I ever meet him, I would be honored to kneel to this man. "Faith in humanity restored".
The moment after "is there anyone... please stand up..." is probably one of the most emotive moments i have ever seen... Still have tears in my eyes sometimes when watching this... God bless this good man!
When a person saves even just one life, they are rightfully called a hero. Sir Winton saved hundreds of lives. How do we even begin to thank him and others like him for having such a profoundly positive impact in the world?
its amazing how easily one can forget in day to day life that there really is good and kindness in this world, and that there really are unassuming special people worthy of the title hero a thousand times over that go unnoticed and unannounced every single day. this man is truly an inspiration.
This is a great story for him to be reunited with some of those he saved. Karl Marx, read the headline. This aired in 1988, but he is still alive today at the ripe old age of 104.
I feel so bad that I found out about this amazing story until today, dear God in what planet am I? I 'm jst glad I finally know. Mr. Winton is a real hero, and this video is making me cry. What an extraordinary story.
I've watched videos of dogs dying, children suffering, war torn countries fighting, everything. I've even watched videos from my country during the war in which I saw countless of sad images and did NOT cry even once. However, what this man has accomplished deserves to be known worldwide. He saved over 600 lives for no personal gain other than human tendency and managed to give these folks a chance to have a family of their own. May this world remember Sir Nicholas Winton for life!
That man is a perfect example that humanity still exist , even in those horrible times , and still exist today. Even if it sometimes just don't seem that way.
This is so beautiful. His heroism cannot be understated. I have no connection to any of these people and yet I could not watch this without getting goosebumps and crying. Beautiful.
One can only imagine what was going through Winton's head when he saw that the entire audience of old men and women were the same children he'd saved all those years ago. God bless that man.
The best of humanity shown with simple elegance. When we humans do something right we are amazing. Thank you Sir Winton from all you have done for us all.
I wish someone knew the music that's used in the background of this video...it's beautiful and makes what Sir Winton did for those kids back during WWII even more impressionable...what a great man!! :)
I saw this in 1988. Today I wrote a little history and sent this link to my child. Think about doing the same: this good man deserves the respect and tears of more than one generation.
Dieser Mann ist ein Held, danke. Ich verneige mich - I bow down. This is one of the few moments to let me hope that mankind and humanity arent already lost.
From Wikipedia: "Winton's work is the subject of three films by Slovak filmmaker Matej Mináč: the drama All My Loved Ones (1999),[39] in which Winton was played by Rupert Graves, the documentary The Power of Good: Nicholas Winton (Síla lidskosti-Nicholas Winton, 2002), which won an Emmy Award.[40] and the documentary drama Nicky's Family (Nickyho rodina, 2011)." I haven't seen any of them, but I imagine they're all worth watching!
Rescued hundreds of kids during WW2 and didn't brag about it - this is true badassness.
I'm from Slovakia and two of the women he saved were my neighbours... :) THANK YOU SIR WINTON!
There is a statue of him in Prague train terminal and the London terminal to honor his work. What an amazing man.
"Winton told no one that he did this, not even his wife. In 1988, his wife found a scrapbook full of pictures of the children and letters from parents in their attic. She arranged to have Winton's story appear in newspaper"

Boy am i glad i packed lunch today
didn't know i'd be going on a feel trip
That was beautiful.

Very touching, I would love to watch a movie based on his life story.
IT'S OKAY I MEAN I WASN'T PLANNING ON CRYING TODAY BUT WHY NOT LET ME JUST SOB ALL OVER THE FLOOR
Very touching and a beautiful clip. I'm a young man and that's something to aspire to be. Lets hope there is never a need for that type of courage again. Well done mate!

Most beautiful thing I have ever seen, I am at loss for words
Soldiers fighting a war are a necessary evil. This is a real hero.
MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY.
In 1:40 seconds I was filled with more emotion than all of the Oscar nominated films together.
When all the children he saved stood up, I teared up. What a great man, a great service, and a touching moment
My favorite part is him standing up and looking at the others who have stood up. Looking at them in disbelief like: "I did all of that?"
Now that is someone the kids today should look up to, not some drug addicted celebrity or pop singer
Wow, it's nice to see stuff like this every so often to remind yourself that there are still good, kind, selfless people in this world.
it just started raining inside my house, im not crying
It was his wife who uncovered what he did after reading a scrapbook in the attic. Such an incredible and modest man. An example to us all.
I met a man on Thursday, 27.June 2013. I helped him up the ramp at Swedish embassy. It was an honor beyond belief. He is 104 now.
this is the kind of people that humanity should be admiring !
I don't cry easily. I'm not fond of emotive stuff.
I cried like a sissy, and if I ever meet him, I would be honored to kneel to this man.
"Faith in humanity restored".
The 58 who clicked on "thumbs down" have something terribly wrong with the core of their being!
The moment after "is there anyone... please stand up..." is probably one of the most emotive moments i have ever seen... Still have tears in my eyes sometimes when watching this... God bless this good man!
I totally lost it when the rest of them stood up! Truly an inspiring man
Absolutely incredible. Very touching video
Incredibly powerful clip. words cannot aptly describe the emotion in that room.
One minute and thirty-five seconds. That's all that it took to turn me into a sobbing wreck for the rest of the night.
I cried inside when I saw this.
Incredible man. He has all my respect!
I cannot imagine the feeling in that room. Bittersweet to the extreme.
When a person saves even just one life, they are rightfully called a hero. Sir Winton saved hundreds of lives. How do we even begin to thank him and others like him for having such a profoundly positive impact in the world?
The kindness of a good, beautiful man in a harsh, cruel world can change humanity.
G-d bless Nicolas Winston.
its amazing how easily one can forget in day to day life that there really is good and kindness in this world, and that there really are unassuming special people worthy of the title hero a thousand times over that go unnoticed and unannounced every single day. this man is truly an inspiration.

I cried. This is like a movie.
I just realized that real life is better than a movie
I've watched videos of dogs dying, children suffering, war torn countries fighting, everything. I've even watched videos from my country during the war in which I saw countless of sad images and did NOT cry even once. However, what this man has accomplished deserves to be known worldwide. No onions here, just tears of happiness. This man is a true hero.
I have been reduced to tears.
Unbelievable! God bless him! I had never heard of him before this.
GREAT MAN!! May GOD Bless Him in All Good Ways!!!
i have to admit, I'm a 14 year old guy and watching this brought tears to my eyes,my respect to Sir Nicholas Winton
after watching this I saluted the screen that guy deserves a medal
This is so beautiful. His heroism cannot be understated. I have no connection to any of these people and yet I could not watch this without getting goosebumps and crying. Beautiful.
Its 4 am and just watched this, now going into work all teary eyed.
One can only imagine what was going through Winton's head when he saw that the entire audience of old men and women were the same children he'd saved all those years ago. God bless that man.
I cry every time I watch this. I have never even heard of this before this video, but god it's such an amazing story..
Sir Nicholas Winton dared and had the courage to react and act during this madness, while others watched passively.
Choppin onions time!
this man is amazing example of what a good man can do and the legacy that they can inspire
it wasnt a job, it was an act of extreme humility and compassion. Words that hardly exist in todays world of materialism sadly.
The best of humanity shown with simple elegance. When we humans do something right we are amazing. Thank you Sir Winton from all you have done for us all.
WHO from HELL gives this THUMBS DOWN!!!!???? WOW!!
You,sir,restored my faith in humanity.
Thank you for your selfless service.
I wish someone knew the music that's used in the background of this video...it's beautiful and makes what Sir Winton did for those kids back during WWII even more impressionable...what a great man!! :)

Can anyone tell me the name of the song playing from 1:00 to 1:37? I would really like to know what it is. This was very touching.
thank you thank you thank you for this video
This amazing man is who we should all be looking up to, not celebrities, television etc...when i grow up i want to be just like him.
I am in tears, this is beautiful. ♥
tears of joy, everytime
everyone stood up...he was surrounded by the people he saved. I'm crying..
wow I cried...you Sir are a true Hero Ty for your hard work and sacrifice to save many lives in a selfless act.
"You saved our lives! We're eternally grateful!"
Dieser Mann ist ein Held, danke. Ich verneige mich - I bow down. This is one of the few moments to let me hope that mankind and humanity arent already lost.
This man is worthy. The clarity in the midst of madness.
This video brings me to tears every time I watch it. :) It's amazing how many wonderful lives he saved.
We saw this in RE class and I just had to come and watch it again, it's the most tear-jerkingly touching story ever!
How could he be so modest for so long? True hero
I think the fact that this video has no thumbs downs gives me hope for humanity:)
amazing video, amazing person
He's 104 now. What a legend.
God bless Sir Nicholas!
much emotion, such amaze, wow
This got to me. This man is a hero. There are no other words to describe him.
as soon as the woman said "hello" I just started crying!
I cried like a bitch
i didn't cry for 2 year and this video just change everything.
This gave me chills. To think someone did so much. yet, kept quite about it. Humanity at it finest.
Made my hair raise. I aspire to be a fraction of the human being that this man is.
Just came back from the gym and I see this. The feels. Right in the feels.
Men like this are the ones children today should idolize as heroes.
what an amazing human being...damn these onions!!!
I have an onion stuck in my eye...
This touched my soul deep...Bless you Sir.
My thoughts exactly. He saved entire family lineages. Beautiful story.
