I highly recommend the Q3. I bought one in the US market in 2020 and went with the top package, sport interior, and speaker system and I have had 0 regrets with the vehicle thus far. Fun to drive, comfortable, and I love the full digital dash and having Google Earth/Maps display on it. I had a Subaru Outback before it, and while the Q3 is definitely smaller inside, it's a much more enjoyable experience to drive it.

@@kbmastiffs I could be mistaken, I've just recently started looking into these myself recently. I'm also in Vrginia, lol. However, I think the "40 TFSI" only requires 87 octane, whereas the "45 TFSI" requires 91 minimum. Being that the original commenter said he has the top of the line trim, he would indeed be using 91+, but you can still get all of the quirks and features on the 40 TFSI too, and only have to use 87. When you go on the Audi website to build a Q3, you will see there is a Premium and Premium Plus, each one of them have 40 TFSI and 45 TFSI available. If you click the information on each of those, the 45 makes a little more horsepower. It has a different tune, the turbo is pushing more boost, requiring higher octane fuel. You can get all of the luxuries with the 40 TFSI though, and only have to use 87 octane! These look like pretty sweet cars for the dollar, currently looking at a few used ones around $30-34k, myself.

❤❤❤❤❤ Love my 2021 Q3‼️. Best car I’ve ever had for all the reason they mentioned in the video. All this technology and runs on regular Gas. ⛽️ so much space inside. I’m 5’9 and I like to be able to just get in & out so easy. I roll in and roll out of my car so easy. So comfortable & drives so nice. I knew within 1 mile of test driving it was for me.

I love my Q3 but I have a huge problem with my oil. It’s been looked at 8x by several people and no one can tell me why the oil dissipates so fast. My oil is completely gone out 1000 miles I have to keep oil in my trunk of my car because it’ll just immediately tell me there’s no oil. Which the research I’ve found seems to be an engine or a turbo issue and has happened with a lot of the Q3

We still have the previous version, bought it brand new and put on about 145k clicks over the past 6 years. Mostly city driving and no issues what so ever. We swapped the spark plugs, brakes (@ 120k) and the battery (@ 110k), nothing else so far. I owned other premium vehicles such as BMW and Merc, Q3 had no check engine lights, oil leaks or electrical gremlins over the past 6 years, which is impossible to achieve with the other premium brands, sad but true. One thing to watch for is the oil consumption, you need to add oil to those engines every 3-4k clicks.

Considered the Q3, GLA250 and X1. The X1 failed immediately for not offering blind-spot monitoring; at least the salesman pointed that out first and saved a test drive. The Q3 impressed and we had a very satisfactory test drive. I failed to notice and, of course, no one at Audi mentioned it - there is no driver seat, mirror memory option. So glad I did more online research and was alerted to this failure. It's not a luxury vehicle in 2020 without memory seats though it may be an acceptable deficiency if only one driver. You can guess the MB GLA included both "essential" features (driver [3] AND passenger seat memories) so one to spare in our 2-driver family, or one for city and another for highway). We've become so accustomed to our Honda CRV adjusting the seats and mirrors automatically that this is almost a safety feature.
After a very long test drive in the Baby Benz we appreciated that it really is a luxury model whereas the Q3 is a tarted-up VW as the video almost acknowledges. Having enough time to factory custom order, we were able to get a GLA close in price to the Q3. Regular fuel would have been nice but as noted in other comments, the Q3's fuel efficiency is not great which should offset some of the MBs premium fuel cost.
GLA arrives in March - ask me then if I've changed my mind that it's worth the small extra cost.

Odd you say that because we own a 2013 Q5 diesel that we have now been driving for almost 10 years. The electronic steering just went out but that is the VERY first time the car required any repair. Considering we live in the mountains of Southern Spain where we are driving switchbacks and rough dirt mountain tracks, that says a lot!

Recently got a '21 Q3 as a rental for a 3400 mile road trip to Colorado. pleasantly surprised by this little SUV. Very fun to drive and super comfortable for long 14+ hour drive streches. Good sound system as well. It needs a tad bit more power though. It's peppy though. Looking up the VIN we had the Premium 40 (180hp), so the smaller of the two engine options. I'm sure the Premium 45 and its 230hp would have been more to my liking. Seriously considering trading in my 2018 Fusion for one of these.

Great video! I truly enjoy the two perspectives.
I was wondering if you could share your thoughts on the value, if any, on moving up to the Q5. I know the Q5 is longer & a tiny bit wider with more engine but overall, when specked with similar features, is the $14,000 to $15,000 price hike really worth it?
After watching this review, the Q3 seems to check off a bunch of boxes and could very well be the sweet spot for a good percentage of people at $50K.
I was also wondering if you will be doing reviews of more vehicles like the Audi Q5 & 3 I really like, the E-Pace from Jaguar & from Range Rover both the Evoque & Discovery Sport.
I find that those brand names seem to scare most people away before they even look into them as vehicles they can't afford but in reality come in quite close to some very popular vehicles like the Q5.
Anyway, I've taken too much of your time. Thanks again & I'll be watching for more great insight!

Now i am in the market for a luxury small suv ive been searching for over 8mths and started to like the q3. I now have ordered the 2021 q3 progressive delivery in April, BUT i am nervous as hell and i am thinking of cancelling the purchase because of vw DNA it seems i have VW PTSD! I buy all my cars and keep them a long time and the last thing i need is to tinker with a “luxury “model. Now i stop everyone who drives a q3 , 95% of ppl i spoke with tell me they lease it when i ask why they tell me its not worth keeping these cars more than 3-4 yrs. i also noticed in your video you mention lease. This car has ONE major flaw: the windshield fluid dispenser does not shoot/squirt the liquid to the middle of the windshield. It shoots it at the lower 20%. So future owners take note if you're ok with that. I just bought mine less than 2 weeks ago and I wish to Hell ppl would review this instead of some "Ooo look at the nice leather!" Of course, it's $47,000+!! The leather has better be nice!!

So does it get more HP and TQ with super gas? Doesn't the GTI use premium gas? No head's up display or paddles either. I use my 18" wheels on my X1 and bought summer 19" and performance tires. I have a 2018 BMW X1 and have modified the ECU for more features and power. I have the optional dampers and sport diff. I like the analog gauges just like on the M2 CS. BTW, I don't like run flats...they're noisy, expensive and wear out faster and don't usually perform as well. Nice review! I changed my fogs to LED bulbs so that the color of the lights match. and also changed the turn signals and rears tails to LED. There's a software switch in the ECU that you have to enable for LED so that you don't need resistors or get that annoying blink. Can do a lot of the programming yourself using bimmercode and the bluetooth dongle that fits in the ECU's OBD II connector port under the dash. Great review! BTW the X3 with the options is a much better vehicle IMHO and although it's more expensive than the X1, X2 or Q3, it is still competitively priced and is the highest rated vehicle in Consumer Reports.

I think its mid-grade vs premium gas in the prior generation Q3's that you can use stateside not regular unleaded. We had a premium plus in first-generation and i like the feature of the new one but the old version had other things i liked. You had an undercarriage tray on 1st gen premium plus that new models don't have and you had the traditional euro fog lights that new models don't have. Yes it's more powerful and roomy and the screen integration layout is nice but the overall fit and finish feel cheaper on the newer version to me.
