You know when I found out that the upside down cross wasn't an evil symbol I saw it on the back of a nuns car when my aunt and I were getting gas. I freaked out obviously but my aunt told me of the symbol's origin apparently one of Jesus's followers didn't feel worthy enough to die like he's lored, Jesus did, so he requested to be nailed upside down and my aunt feels the same way you do probably more so because she's a God fearing woman so to speak. Oh by the way I watched all of Inside No.9 even the Halloween Special had to get Britbox to watch it all it's not on Netflix in my country.
“Don’t help any because satan” I like this movie more than the first one but I have some issues one I wish they didn’t go all satanic imagery on us and start with him trying to use EVP to talk to his wife but not getting any then try to die
I can speak from experience Sadly ^~^ and Yes when you have a corpse in your Business the EMT's leave the body where it is and leave, Until the ME or Coroner arrives and gives them permission to take the corpse. BTW I work at Mcdonalds, and have had a couple People die when i have been working. so Mcdonalds Family Friendly place with Stiff's Makes you wonder why they used a diner in this film rather than a Mcdonalds.
Fun Fact: St. Peter's was crucified on an upside down cross because he felt he was unworthy of being crucified the same way as Jesus, so it's not evil at all, it signifies humility before Christ, it's named "St. Peter's Cross"...this is the FIRST result you get when you google it's meaning...so yes, it is extremely lazy that horror movies use this trope so often 🙄
The only movie I've ever seen use saint peter's cross was in one of the exorcist prequels, where after praying before saint peters cross, he turns it back up, but after leaving the room we see the cross swing back down. It's just kind of a good spooky bit.
I think the message got fudged by a needlessly complicated premise. It feels like the *actual* message was: Be careful who you save, because you never know if you just saved a monster.
It infuriates me when I see upside down crosses and pentacles in 'demon' movies. Research dammit! Also, when Samhain is pronounced Sam Hane instead of Sah-win; drives me nuts. I'll stop ranting now, but I agree with your frustration. Love you're reviews by the way.
Y'know, this might've actually been quite an interesting story if you cut out all the more blatant supernatural/ghost/satan stuff, and instead had it be a kind of contemporary sci-fi parable. A guy gets the ability to save people before their death, but then the sting/twist instead is that 'some' of those people are actually not nice people, and about to commit various terrible acts. And then having the consequence being the guy has to watch, unknowing, how his rash judgement calls, saving those lives, play out.
Chares.... or Charas? sounds very close to Charon, the boatman that ferries souls of the dead? :) also, I think this movie'd been better if Nathan's character cannot save anyone where the light is already showing... he just faultily deducted it as being possible. Or perhaps by doing so, it'd shift to someone else... so all he does is save one person by inadvertently causing the death or someone else (not like the movie trying to say cuz satan those people causes the death of others). Or perhaps his own existence being an anomaly and thus is the cause of those people being 'marked for death'. Yes I know, this is very Final Destination-feeling. They should just avoid that whole satan and religion thing. Hell it'd be cool if they used some OTHER religion at least LIGHTLY so. Like buddism or just a twist on the concept of Karma. Survive when you had not meant to survive, you become an anomaly and your good intentions/actions become the catalyst for worse 'karma' for those saved or it spreads to others that died instead of the people saved, etc. Maybe put something cosmically horrible to it all?
“Henry Kane” (different spelling) is also the name of the evil priest from _Poltergeist II: The Other Side_ and it’s less-than-stellar sequel, _Poltergeist III._
I can't believe I just noticed this, but CAIN has his face MARKED. My god and I thought the Cain and Abe thing was unsubtle. But given as it took me how long to see, maybe this is subtle. Plus despite me always believing the Mark of Cain is a facial disfigurement, that may not be the case. But hey, there are lots of people who don't know their religions as well as they should. Also, I recently talked to my sister about this review, she agrees with me that the movie could work much better if reworked as a stand alone movie (which it is anyway) about a guy dealing with what amounts to the Devil's Bounty Hunter, killing those who didn't die. Makes it a bit more of a Final Destination knock off, but at least we wouldn't be asked to sympathize with a guy who shot a child in the face.
The whole Christian imagery against any evil of any culture is stupid. Like the Wishmaster movie. Idk why it couldnt have been like idk Sikhs or something.
So interesting thing, there's also so evidence that it may have been supposed to be 6 to the power of 6, to the super power of 6. The Greeks knew exponents, and used them. The emphasis that referenced this was lost in the translation from Greek. Similarly to the whole, suffer not a poisoner to live translation into suffer not a witch to live.
This plays out like a deconstruction of the superhero genre. Abe's superpower is knowing when people are going to die, but he doesn't get any powers that would actually help him save them, then actually punishes him for doing so anyway.
I think the ghosts that were haunting Abe were the ghosts that were killed do to Cain's rescues. Sort of them trying to get Abe to not do what Cain did. If I were to go at this movie I would change a few things. 1. instead of using satan or anything of that theme, I would dive more into the paranormal. Like a person who was saved, would be cursed, making them be a sort of magnet for tragedy. They will always be fine and safe but people would just end up dead around them. 2. Working with the three day thing. It would be more that in three days thanks to the curse the person's soul would weak, and would allow the ghosts of the people who died around them to possess the person's body, and again thanks to the curse, these ghosts, in a jealous rage would attempt to kill as many people as they could. 3. The static would be of the ghost of a person much like Abe, some one who could see auras of those who would die. While the people she saved were not cursed, cause of the time period she was in, people assumed she was a witch who was ruining "gods plan". And in her dying moments she cursed the land, saying no one can be saved. Of course this would not be told in flash backs but in various stories and notes. 4. The ghosts would be of those who were like Abe, people who were given the curse of seeing those who would die. Each person learned about the curse one way or another, and tried to stop the actions of the curse only to end up dead themselves. So they now attempt to scare people like Abe away from being a hero. So yes, two groups of ghosts, the "good" ghosts, and the cursed "bad" ghosts.
Sweet heavens. Nathan Fillion, while wonderful and a great actor, should not do horror. Yes, he's very good at drama, but I just don't think he fits in with an actual, supposed-to-be-serious ghost movie.
Also, what the hell does Satan have to do with Death?! Those are two completely unrelated characters...even in the Bible. Death is supposed to be neutral in the battle between Good and Evil. It doesn't work for either side! Death is Switzerland! Also if the "Light" is from Satan and not God, then doesn't that mean that Abe and his family went to Hell because they were in "The Light"?
no the light is a prediction once the person is spared from death that gives satan the ability to posses the person, satan isn't doing the killing, the light is merely indicative of future events
23:50 What's better: The old Bible was orignally written in Hebrew - Not Ancient Greek. And what's even better is that Revelation 13:18 was writen as a reference to Nero Ceasar, who slaughtered many, many Jews. The old verse was essentially just a short of riddle, to tell other Jews, but not the Romans, that Nero was a beast (Aka they didn't like him), because he had caused so much harm to their people. And yes it could even be translated to 6-1-6 depending on how you spelt Nero.
I hate this f***ing movie so much! I consider this to be the lowest point of Nathan's Fillion's career. Yes, even lower than the Man-Slug. Thank god for Castle or his career sure would be dead by now.
I actually bought this based solely on Fillion being in it, because I didn't learn my lesson about buying the first one solely for Keaton, and I don't think I even made it an hour into the film before getting insufferably bored and turning it off.
The debate on what NDEs are and how they are created are still debated I'd encourage anyone to research into it, there have been many tests and tbh light produced by a dying brain is about the safest possible explanation and really only works for those specific situations, but NDEs are so fucking wild and varied it can't explain everything. Which, spiritual stuff aside is awesome and facinating to think about why do some people see light and some don't? Why do some people get a tunnel and some don't ? Why do certain patterns of "talking to God" keep showing up across belief systems? Juicy stuff for research !!!
I love Michael Keaton I consider him one of the finest actors of any era but I liked White Noise 2 way more. I don't sweat what I consider the small stuff while watching supernatural films none of it is logical or believeable if I want that I'll watch a documentary.

If he is dead then the cops have to secure the scene for the coroner to arrive, declare the time of death and the body...As well as set up the crime scene....And if he was dying then quick triage would tell you that if he were with in spitting distance of the hospital then they may have taken him. But if they were too far out, then he would have died en route.

For anyone unaware: the upside down cross is the symbol of the Pope, in reference to saint Peter, who was crucified upside down, after stating he did not deserve to die in the same manner as Jesus. It is a sign of humility before the Lord. The Actual Satanic cross is like a regular, upright one, with a second, slightly longer bar at middle height, and an infinity symbol beneath, in reference to the alchemical symbol for sulfur (and thus, the sulfur and brimstone of hell.). It symbolises protection, balance between peoples, and the eternal nature of the universe. (Satanism, at least the levayan kind, is less evil demon worship, more just an edgy secular philosophy.) And for reference, those pentagrams people keep putting in horror movies? Also not evil. It's a symbol for protection from evil spirits. It's even a Christian symbol, referring to the 5 wounds of Jesus Christ (Wrists, Ankles, spear in the side).
yes the leviathan cross, not to be confused with the symbol of Lucifer and Luciferianism which is a different philosophy to satanism, also I do mention St. peter in the video. Also the pentagram is not a christian symbol at all it may have been stolen in order to eradicate paganism, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity or "protection from spirits" it doesn't have a specific function it used for many practices, and the five points represent the elements including spirit.
Deusdaecon Reviews 5 point star: pythagoreans’ guild symbol. Catholic Church deemed him and everything associated with him as satanic. Least i read that years ago. Might be wrong.
You know what'd be interesting? If the attempted murderer also had a Near Death Experience but the white light was telling him to kill people. Kind of like the Grim Reaper's mortal hitman

Bears a resemblance to the Final Destination films, in that in this film preventing deaths results in fatal accidents to replace those saved.

THAT actually should have been the main hook of the movie. Abe uses his power to save just ONE person and that person turns out to be a serial killer.
You should do a series where you explain how you would rewrite bad horror movies that had good potential
That is an awesome idea

Did Abe shoot a child in the face?? I didn't see the movie.
This idiotic movie is also implying that the serial killer with a van was the hero all along?!
I thought the first movie was stupid. But this is even stupider. Lmao
Wouldn’t satan like it if people saved other people that were about to die?
Cheers mate from California. Please keep up the great work. I started following you last winter and I cant get enough of your content! Thanks for all the great enjoyable content!
22:43 learned that from the history channel 15 years ago.
"The Frighteners". That is all.
Holy Shit! You're Right! This is basically the same plot...more or less.
Holy....you are right!

6:50 Squidward trapped in the phantom zone?
XD Dont help any one because satan!? I love it x3
Actually paramedics can't transport corpses, If someone dies in Ambulance and is close to the place of accident, they pull back and offload him.
It wasn't that they didn't transport the body, its that they didn't do anything a paramedic would do, for example, actually check he's dead and I'm not sure what the protocols are when it comes to criminals but I'm sure some of his organs were fine for donation, Also I would like some form of evidence for your claim of turning back cause it sounds ridiculous turning back would far more resource demanding then just getting to the hospital and pronouncing a DOA.
Yay more reviews
White Noise 2: Abe's Exoddus.

(Satanism, at least the levayan kind, is less evil demon worship, more just an edgy secular philosophy.)
And for reference, those pentagrams people keep putting in horror movies?
@@deusdeaconReviews That's what I get commenting before I finish the video. Thanks for your work!

5 point star: pythagoreans’ guild symbol.
12:26 Wayne is that you?
Who doesn't like a chipper Katee Sackhoff?
