😳 He’s probably the most blessed man in the record industry. The fact that he stayed independent his whole career is unheard of, and he obviously still got paid.
Oh he got paid and owns 100% of his publishing. He doesn't have to work ever and is still humble about his music and career especially the support he received from his friend Babyface
Is that great stuff or what. I was Dee jay for many years. And I always loved the art and production of music. And it goes to show the talent and hard work that these brothers put in. They deserve all of their riches and blessings.
@Marvin - That's how they tend to get into the house. The piano store delivers at the door, the purchaser unboxes it, then figure out how to get it into the house (living room or basement)
He was a songwriter and producer who paid his dues over the years…his catalogue is extensive …who hasn’t he worked with ?!? …and you can tell really talented people because they always make hit songs that you can usually play now and the music still sounds good!
@@keepsit100atalltime9 It is on his Babyface “A Closer Look” Album… “Two Occasions Live”. The entire album was/is great…a jazzier remake of some of his hits. He is my all time favorite.

Ok is it just me or they look like a spooky costumed group? Were we really this campy, tacky and spooky looking in the 80’s my god😅!! Best decade ever though!
There was clearly a play in the industry to make rock and black artists look really girly in a man’s man era back in the 80’s🤔 those album covers were so sus!!! If I didn’t know any better, I would think the powers that be had some weird fetus!!🤔
I guess you mean fetish. Yes and no. It wasn’t so much to feminize but to homogenize , to defang that Black Panther brother roaring out of the 1970s. And not just with the one note femininity but a particular kind of not too Black kind. Didn’t work : that mulatto look. Black came back and came in hard. It’s always white fear running the industry and trying to occupy the minds of people with silly stereotypes. A nan can be fine AND masculine, kind AND masculine. Redefine masculine. Instead here’s the industry the culture: Take it from Chuck, give it to Elvis. Kiss Peggy Lee and kick Billie Holiday. No idea where it’s headed now with five genders to get everybody swirling🤷🏽♀️ The only thing Ivseevhooefulbis Black women redefining femininity. It’s all over the place but definitely Blackness is back undefeated.
