Great video, information and inspiration! I get most of my inspiration from UA-cam videos, but a lot of knowledge comes from listening to podcasts while I work.
It was great to have you at the Coral Freaks event and to listen to the discussions between you and the other panelist’s. I always get inspired by talking with other reefers whether in an LFS or visiting one to pick up or drop off corals.
Was a great show , amazing cause & so much raised for Mind, AAC & the team involved did such a good job, thank you for coming & was nice to meet you Than too.
Glad you enjoyed your journey and got some inspiration. Listening to Jamie has made me really think of how the future of our hobby MUST be done by breeding and growing. Not from the wild
Im inspired by the fact that I’ve been in the hobby for over 7-8 years and I still haven’t had a tank where I can say I have thriving corals or a thriving reef. But instead of giving up, I keep finding inspiration from channels like yours and other to keep on learning more and more and hope to soon have a tank where I can go out and purchase a coral frag and have confidence that it’ll thrive one day into a colony .
I am always interested in how people achieve the same results but with different approaches, and then try and put myself somewhere in the middle. For me it was great to get to meet you and have some discussions on coral feeding, along with the other great professionals who were there. Really good times
2-part is indeed king in the UK, I hardly know anyone with a calcium reactor. I think many people just simply don't have the space as our houses are smaller, same with kalkbins!
Moonlight is 100% what i attribute to all my inverts spawning monthly or bimonthly. Havent bought snails in almost a decade due to mass reproduction as soon as i started using a moon cycle that follows the moon phase. Stomallas, astreas as well as the copepod population seems to spike like crazy about every other full moon.
Super fortunate to live 5 mins from one of the best lfs I have ever been to. Thats my inspiration. If you are around chicago, check out Zooxae in Elgin,Il
The idea about "curing" freshly cleaned trays in a dark container with tank water running through it seems like it would work very well for getting a biofilm established on them before putting them back under lights. Though I don't think live rock would have much to do with the curing process as the biofilm would happen anywhere you put the trays as long as there is tank water flowing past them to inoculate and feed the microbes that would constitute the biofilm.
For me see other people's aquariums is more appropriate since that what we have. My setup isn't typical, more middle of the road 6 tanks plumbed together. But it's more common since not everyone can afford a single large system or have the space for it. It's more common due to Multi-Tank Syndrome with incremental additions.
Im inspiried by the educational lense you have on your videos. I think it would be great to get more content in the facilities and the chemistry or processes that you are using and/or experimenting with to achieve the succeess you have found with anyone you meet.
I like videos like this from people who know what they are doing about people who know what they are doing. There is a lot of bad advice given in this hobby and discernment is the key to success. Those clove polyps are spectacular.
Perhaps soft corals prefer higher alkalinity because they prefer to use bicarbonate and or carbonate for photosynthesis as opposed to dissolved carbon dioxide/carbonic acid
Re: the styrofoam for mangroves... I tried this when I brought home some pods from Key Largo. After a couple of weeks I started to notice that the styrofoam was beginning to "dissolve" and the little styrofoam "beads" were starting to get into the water. Anybody else have this experience with styrofoam?
👏 loved this . I’m so glad you came , Paul &Angela
As I do not get out much I rely on UA-cam videos for reefing knowledge, inspiration and entertainment
Seeing the corals grow and meeting folks who love the hobby is great inspiration.

Thanks for visiting UK and hope to see you again
It was great to hear you speak at the event, thanks for coming!
So glad you enjoyed your visit to the UK. It was an honour to meet you and listen to your speech. Massive thumbs up Than 👍✨
Thanks again!
Glad you enjoyed your trip to our beautiful country.
For me inspiration comes the most from getting out there and speaking with other hobbyists

My Grandfather worked at the Horniman museum in the early 80s. I loved going to visit.

Very interesting 😊 Those clove polyps are impressive. . Like to see you try to get those results . Maybe it was just a stand😊
11:22 what does she feed?!? I was at the edge of my seat lol
Me too!! 😊

I actually scaped the Amazon display at the Horniman museum - hopefully its still in good condition but I've not been for a few years!
That’s Marylebone I believe, nice area!
Corals spawning with moon light absolutely interesting would like to see more on this
Would love to know more about the elevated all for soft corals

Hi Than, great video as always! Do you know, is there a practical description of how to get corals spawn and how to get the reproduction work?
Jamie Craggs has published journals with extensive step by step methodologies on how he's done the spawning.
thanks a lot, just found it and i m eager to read it! Have a good weekend!

Great video as always. What alternatives to calcium reactors are they using?
A lot of them are dosing 2-3 part solutions. There is a brand in Europe called Zelements that they seem to like.
1.03 thats Aarons Aquarium!
No footage of the airline lounges and first class accommodations?
I worried it would be an unnecessary distraction from the reef keeping content. People already know I'm posh :P

People get really creative with space when it is very limited. Necessity breeds inovation.

My man should narrate meditation audio or something 👍
