      I do heat 1x/wk & sleep w top swirled bun on silk pillow. Still, I want to have less heat than that due to frizz as I bleach & tone my hair once a month too! Thanks for this alternative,

    I have been using these for a long time with my super long hair and here's a tip if you want the curls to last:
    Do it on almost completely dry hair after a shower, not wet.

      Thanks for the tip! My hair was taking like sooo long to dry, definitely longer than overnight with these. But I was doing it from like towel dry/damp hair. Tried it from nearly dry and the curls lasted until I washed my hair.

      Agreed, when you have long hair it takes longer to dry when you roll it up, so I always wait until it's just dry then roll it up. It's super flexible.

    I was on my journey to recovering my natural curls,and through my transitioning period my go to style was using flexi rods. Now thankfully my hair is healthy and curly again, but when I want a different curl pattern I always turn to flexi rods. For me the curls hold way better in my hair as compared to heat styled curls,and the volume is incredible

    • @adrianaramt.9393
      @adrianaramt.9393 3 роки тому +3

      Also, if you sleep in the rods,a bonnet would be useful especially for frizz

      @ForeverYours0727  3 роки тому +4

      I know right? It's been almost 2 months avoiding heat and I still hate my hair but whatever lmao I'm hoping within a year things will actually change and be noticeable... The issue is the same with eyelash extensions or fake eyelashes - it gives you a false idea of how you really "look." Now that I took all the extra pounds of hair out, I'm realizing how thin my hair naturally is and it's so sad.... lmao But just like last year using mascara ONLY on my lashes, I'm sure after this year of no extensions I'll be used to it. I love my lashes with only mascara now!

      Tips of advice: try oiling your hair once a week or every two weeks, and use a protein builder! I have textured course hair that’s mostly frizz, but after switching to Shea Moisture’s shampoo and conditioner with the silk protein in it (the hibiscus line), my hair is super shiny and more manageable. I also wash with a clarifying shampoo first, then the Shea moisture, then conditioner. I also oil my scalp and hair on one wash day (wash my hair twice a week) per week with a mix of black castor oil, sweet almond oil, and extra virgin olive oil. Massage it gently on your scalp and through your hair, put on a plastic bag or shower cap, and let it soak in for a minimum of 45mins, but I like to do it over night. After my shower, I put in some leave in conditioner, mousse, gel, and the tiniest bit of sweet almond oil (think like the size of half a dime amount) through the ends and mid length. I’ve been doing all this for about 6mo now and my hair is soooo shiny and smoother!

    Can these work for short hairstyles? I am going to get my hair cut in a shag style for straight baby fine hair in April. I would love to know if I can use these for that kind of hair? If anyone knows or can give me some advice on this I would really appreciate it! I’m a 56yo Granny and I have long hair now. My hair is thinning and since I have baby fine, straight hair, it’s starting to get on my nerves! LOL
    So I am going to start keeping my hair short. I just want to find the easiest ways to keep body in my lifeless straight hair and not use strong chemical perms. I don’t want to destroy my hair.
    Much ♥️
