men your explanation its really clear and cool thanks for that, i was afraid of putting the EVO downpipe because i don't what to tune the car i just want lower temps and better sound thats it.
i did this myself too. save a shit ton of money then buying an a/m pipe plus it still looks like its stock, no one knows but me. it does make it a little throatier i like it.
That bov sounds good I think this is one of the best sounding sxs triple cylinder turbo sounds awesome just bought my x3 I was wondering if you could take a look at a video I posted today see if yours makes the same noise if you could thanks keep up the good work
Would you need a tune without a car or muffler ? Essentially like a true straight pipe ? I’m wanting to do as you did with the cat but run a home made cut out at the same time if possible
I have the electronic dump valve exhaust, I removed the muffler for less weight for the dunes but people say I could bend a valve if I run the can amx3 with the cut out exhaust only? It’s pretty much a straight pipe now?
The chances of that happening are very slim you should have a little bit of back pressure but it don’t hurt to open the dump valve every once in a while and have a little fun
Thanks for the vid, but you should be wearing a respirator, no? All sorts of nasty stuff in that dust. Question, did you notice performance gains after the ECU figured out the tune?
I wander if I can just take the muffler off and start going from there just so I don’t have to take the cat pipe off the machine? Could I possibly take the cat out without a drill? Is the catalytic converter a hard or soft material? Thanks!
Hey question. What is the brand and name of your battery ratchet? And when taking the clamp off the frame and the one of the turbo are either hard to reassemble?
Gage McConnaughey hands down the best tool I have ever got. Are used it about every week and have owned it probably six years and works like brand new. It’s a Maco tool. Here is the link. It’s not cheap but a most have. www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/MCL1238RK/12V-CORDLESS-INFINIUM-3-8-DRIVE-RATCHET-KIT/ The clamp around the Turbo are very hard to get off. They have been heated and cooled about 1000 time.
Getting the clamp of there is no easy way you just have to work it off. It’s been heated up so many time it’s on there good. Screwdriver might be your friend. Good luck
Adventure Streaming Guys there is not a difference that you can feel tell you put in a tune. I think there is a little better throttle response but that’s it.
Tacos Uruapan yes I’m running stock exhaust. I have put many miles on it with just the cat delete and blow of valve on it. I’m going to put on a stage 3r tune from EVO some time.
Put on about 200 mile and no codes. I know about 20 people with it done and running just fine. I also know people running the stage five Evo tunes with stock exhaust.
The only real way a cat delete would set a code is if it is equipped with downstream O2 sensors. Those read what comes out of the cat to determine whether the cat is failing and set a code if they detect emissions out of the normal. You’ll find that mostly on newer cars. I can’t remove the cats on my 03 S10 without reprogramming the ECU to ignore those downstream O2 sensors.
Berk_2 _M_K I have a evo blow off. You are still making boost even in park so it should blow off the pressure. If it’s adjustable make sure it’s closed down all the way. There are places that my blow off valve will not work at all. I was in Colorado at about 10,000 feet it never worked at all.
I will put a stage 3 91 octane, in mine, shop (evo dealer) recommended Cat delete which is about 500 installed. what if I dont do the cat delete? how much do you think it will limit the tune? 172hp xrs x r. I honestly want to keep it as quiet as possible, if I do the shocker pipe, does that make it possible to keep the stock CAT ? thanks
You will not notice any difference in power. Hundred percent guaranteed. They recommend a cat delete because they want your $500 installed. Beast mode from sxsblog owned by Leo had a stage 5 evo tune and full stock exhaust and your reason is why he kept it he didn’t want his side-by-side to be really loud. It will never throw code or run any different with the stock exhaust.
jonrob1973 You will be fine. It will run alittle funny for the first few starts but it will find its self. It Takes alittle bit for the computer to find where it likes. I don’t run a tune yet myself.
clay Byrd I have the 172 with a cat delete without a tune and runs just fine. I will be getting a tune in the next few months but will not be putting on a aftermarket exhaust. I do not want it any loader then stock. With it was Quieter
@@sxsmarine4075 Question for ya...I’ve had the Whalen150(PV3)tune on it and just did the cat delete pipe. I haven’t taken it out yet but ran it in the driveway. It popped once on decel after i installed it. Any idea if the tuner will adjust if it’s a little lean now?
Nope never. like I said in the video it’s 100% safe to do. Don’t lesson to stupid people that don’t know what they are talking about. I have little over 2000 with a cat delete and another 1000 miles with a 200 hp tune with stock muffler.
Julian Maciel you mean take it all off and no pipe? A Engine needs a little bit of back pressure or can harm the motor. You want something on there but you can run a straight pipe no catalytic converter or silencer.
Did the cat delete today all thanks to your video really appreciate the step by step and the quick responses! Keep doing what your doing!🤙🏻
Gage McConnaughey any time bud

did mine the same way. It was a pain, I remember that. But better than spending the $300 for cat delete pipe from EVO.
Damn I want the garage he has!
Really good video.
GIC NATION thank you I appreciate that
Nice info SXS
Dixie Dirt draggers thanks that means a lot!!!!!

El Sordo tubes yep I sure will.
Thanks for taking the time out and taking a look

BOWMAN-GT Throttle response and that’s about it.
SXS Marine thanks man
Does it make the turbo louder?more noticeable while riding?
I wander if I can just take the muffler off and start going from there just so I don’t have to take the cat pipe off the machine?
Could I possibly take the cat out without a drill? Is the catalytic converter a hard or soft material? Thanks!
Isaac Martin it’s soft but not soft enough to get it out without a drill or something like that.
So if I drill holes thru it will it start to come out easy?
Isaac Martin sure will I used a 1” wood hole drill with a long extension. Are sure you take out your air sensor so you don’t hit it.
Thanks! I’ll make sure to take the sensor off

Alright cool and do you have to move muffler at all to get it out? What’s the best way to maneuver the pipe out?
Sorry to keep bugging you. I’m taking my 120hp model to 3R but trying to stay on a budget
so how do you like the performance after the cat delete ?
Adventure Streaming Guys there is not a difference that you can feel tell you put in a tune. I think there is a little better throttle response but that’s it.
Are you running a stock Exhaust? Did you get any code reading on the dash? looks easy.

What bov do you have? I installed mine and it doesnt blow off when on parked . Only while driving it..

@@Alan1michel you will love the tune it’s a good jump.
Did you put the shields back on? I did a cat delete sounds the same as stock lol
Eduardo91 Fernandez yes I put the shields back on and I did the blow off valve at the same time that’s y my sounds changed
Oh okay cool. Yea I was just debating on putting them back or not. I wonder if it will make any difference once I open it up out on a run
Eduardo91 Fernandez the shields are just for safety you can leave them off.
I have the youshi slip on and if I do this cat delete will it run good without a tune? Or do I need to tune because of slip on and cat delete?

@@mtfrf1 yes it will. Usually popping after deceleration is a sign of a rich motor. it’s burning off the excess fuel left in the exhaust pipe.
why most of the people keep saying you can't do a cat delete without a tune? that car is going to get damage?
ricardo lopez because there stupid. 2000 miles with a cat delete and no tune on my car.
