  • ***Sorry guys, didn't realize the audio quality was horrible on the first upload. fixed the audio and uploaded the video again. Sorry for those that already watched the first crappy upload.
I thought I would do a quick review and install video of the 2021 Canam X3 turbo RR RPM blow off valve kit. I apologize in advance to my supra/car guys that want more supra content. I know a lot of people come to the university of UA-cam for help installing, buying, and reviewing aftermarket parts. So I figured I would try this video and see how it does. Don't worry, more supra content to come.

I’m running the same RPM BOV, I’ve also got the extension hose to vent it inside the air box (not installed yet) so it’s not open to dust/dirt. I’ve ran other BOVs, I’ve always wondered how to adjust the adjustable BOVs. I think the one I put on my brothers x3 is adjustable. Any input on adjusting one? I also would recommend using a removable boost pressure gauge after removing the boost hoses, I’ve found leaks more then once where I thought the hose clamps/connections where tight but needed just a little more attention loosing valuable boost pressure. I bought the gauge from KWI clutch, I was trying to diagnose a power loss, sure enough a boost hose was leaking.

Did you ever check or adjust your crack pressure? I have the 135hp model and I'm adding an intercooler. Thanks!

No I just tried the different springs. I'm not sure what the different spring weights are. RPM doesn't provide much information. I'm assuming the softest spring is 8psi for crack pressure but I could be wrong. I'm not sure if the 135hp model will need a different kit. Rpm shows two different kits for the different models. Let me know if you find more out or have any questions.

I just installed the kit on My X3 Turbo rr max. On the ride i noticed the bov would open and remain open at around 5300 rpm. I also noticed as I was driving down the road and every time I hit a bump and my foot bounced on a gas pedal a little the BOV would also dump. Do I need to put the next Stronger spring? Or are you sensing something else? Any help is greatly appreciated

That's interesting. I did disassembled my bov and cleaned a bunch of grease off the plunger. It was acting like glue and would hold the plunger open. I would also try swapping the springs out. Typically the plunger and diaphragm are held closed under boost pressure. The positive boost pressure will push on the back side of the diaphragm and will hold it shut. Since yours is staying open at 5300 rpm I'm willing to bet it's opening and then getting stuck and remaining open.

Bov is for high boost cars etc. noneed for stock turbo with low boost. 😂
