I've just got to say I love how they remade the Mario Kart 64 rainbow road on Mario Kart 8.
Even though I wasn't around to play the original, I still like it a lot.
MTK I hate how it's too short 2 laps could of been good
They should've made the 3 sections into 1 lap and made the track 2 laps so it would've been longer.

I love how Double Dash (and most GCN games for that matter) still looks great even to this day! The GCN had quite a bit of power for its time
This has always been my favorite course overall in every version of MK. I even have a MK arcade machine at the theatre close to my house so I played that one too. It a shame I never had a GBA to play that version of MK though.

That track appeared in 4 Games, one with DLC, and 3 times as a retro track

This may be due to:
Shortening the Laps to 1 (We have sections instead)
Removing most of the Edge Gates
Chain Chomps jumping now
With Sky Train
And Being above (possibly) Mushroom City

***** i think it is some kind of tribute to rainbow road, because it was the very first Rainbow road ever on mario kart history. In the original game it was the only course without walls at the sides of the road and the thwomps had "star" power up item.

on n64 all rainbow road is is a race with only a track 3 laps and a bariiar but in wii u there are barriers no barriered parts fireworks a coin train ALL THAT GREAT STUFF
