    Thank you for taking the time to make this video! You gave life to my LG G3! Yes I am 3 years late but I never gave up on it. I was always concerned that I would break something. Your step by step gave me the confidence to attempt it. A belated thanks.👍

    Hi,
    your solution helped me a lot.
    Lately I experienced the so-called bootloop error on my LG 4. I skimmed through lots of solutions on the internet. Many videos suggested fixing this error by warming up the main processor with a hairdryer. Because I think this could also turn out as a big mistake I remembered your solution with the plastic card and gave it a try. After I had attached the bigger piece of plastic card to the main processor and closed the smartphone again ----
    it booted normally again
    although I had to open it afterwards one more time because the pressure on the wifi module was now to low. So I added another layer and
    taddaaaaa: both the smartphone and the wifi module operate normally.
    The plastic card solution helped me so far. Future will show whether it is a lasting solution or just temporarily.
    There is one tiny wheeny flaw of this solution: The back cover won't fit perfectly, there is now a very narrow gap between phone and backcover.
    But hey: what the heck! As long as it works :)

    That worked for me too !! thank you !! tried once with a plastic piece that wasn't enough thick, and then tried again with a thicker piece !! I am so happy it is now working again !

    This really worked for my Bluetooth and WiFi issue. I also wanted to add that I had problem with my front camera which stopped working (started with colored lines then completely dead - black) around the same time that WiFi and Bluetooth issues appeared, front camera started working after putting my phone back together. I pressed all chips while phone was open so following this steps fixed my camera too. Thank you.

      Hi, I am sorry that it didn't work. :-(
      Are you sure you're applying enough pressure to the chip? On the G2, the metal cover of the chip makes this very difficult. You might want to check out this video for the G3: ua-cam.com/video/OJkdva2iOag/v-deo.html
      And you might want to try this antenna fix: ua-cam.com/video/UdDJqFxpRy8/v-deo.html

    I did it on my lg g2 d800. My problem was the same, wifi turning on forever. Now everything is 100% funtional. Thank you so much. If you don't want to take out the whole mainboard then just flip it up a little so you can put a piece of plastic where the chip rest(next to the camera) so it will press the cover and the chip. The goal here is to press the chip against the mainboard

  • @peetahuynh

    You are a sick legend bruzz because it works. Thanks you!!!!
    Note: I dont think you need to take out the whole driver board. I used cardboard and placed it where the wifi chip would be located on the phone (next to the camera). Then put back the mian board back to its place and worked again (had to force restart because the screen was all black). But again, thanks for the solution.

    Great video, and it helped me fix my wifi issue. I first used the tape and the piece of credit card like on the video. It fixed my wifi, but my ear speaker was not working. I determined that the thickness of the credit card raised my board so it wasn't making contact with the 2 little speaker contacts. I removed the credit card, and I put 3 layers of tape on top of the wifi chip and put the metal cover back on. I put everything together and it works great. Thanks!

    Just for curiosity, will it work if I bake the main board for short time?
    Like the video cars of computer can be fixed by baking it in the oven (I tried on my Dell M2010 in the past, though it only work for a short period and I have to bake again, but at least it is a resolution.). I was thinking to solder it, and realize there was nothing to solder....so.....I will give it a try in your way, but also wander would the baking method work..........

    • @thehappen7525
      @thehappen7525  7 років тому +1

      Yeah, well, heating up the main board thus reflowing the soldering is a solution that has in fact worked for some people.
      If you bake your board, be sure it is ONLY the board! Do not bake the entire phone! Do NOT bake the battery!!!
      Anyways, I recommend you try the "pressure-on-the-chip" solution BEFORE you decide to bake your board. Baking the board always includes a high risk of destroying parts or the whole board, while adding some pressure usually doesn't destroy things. Plus, it is a long-lasting solution (IF it works).
      Good luck.

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 7 років тому

      Ha ha ha~~~~ YES SIR! No battery baking event!!! Roger that~~~
      I will make sure on the board is taken down. ....I do not want the camera lens be heat damaged.....|||
      Thanks for the reminding!
      Happy new year.

    Thanks so much for making this video. I have been searching this kind video to fix the WIFI and bluetooth over 1 year.
    I will give it a try on my LG G4 H815. Hope it is the same way to get fixed. My LG G4 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth got the same problem as shown in your video....for unknown reason.........and because no videos showing how to fix, so I ended up purchasing another one...couple hundred dollars gone....again...
    Just a quick question, I think blurtooth is a separate chip.....but it is fixed just by adding pressure to the WIFI chip????

    • @thehappen7525
      @thehappen7525  7 років тому +1

      Hello,
      first of all, BEFORE you try anything, do a backup of your data!
      Yes, if you are lucky you can fix the problem by adding pressure to the chip. In most cases (certainly not ALL), this problem happens because of a broken soldering between the WiFi/BT chip and the main board. Therefore, if you gently push your chip against the main board, you might "reconnect" the broken contacts, solving the problem. This is what I do in my video.
      As for WiFi and Bluetooth, I don't know what it is like on the LG G4, but I can tell you that it is the same chip for WiFi and BT on the LG G2. If the G4 has separate chips, you can add pressure to both chips. The best you can do is to find a service manual or some schematics for your phone, to help you identify the chip(s).
      You wrote "....for unknown reason........."... did you drop your phone? Or did you notice it overheating / heating up a lot? Sometimes, even when the phone is just recharging, it may get really hot, this *might* be the cause of the problem.
      Please be aware that there is no guarantee that this solution will actually work on your phone. There is a high chance that it will work, however there have been cases where the damage is so severe that nothing else helps than replacing the main board.
      Good luck!

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 7 років тому

      Hello,
      Appreciate for the detailed reply.
      The WiFi issue happened one day when I was playing some light game on the phone and noticed the WI-FI was not stable.Few days later, it have problem to even turn on.
      AFTER this WI-Fi issue, I did have once dropped on the concrete, at the corner side. After that drop, few weeks later, then the bluetooth issue.
      I will check the manual again..... I remember seeing the bluetooth and WIFI chips are separate parts....but....it was more than 1 year ago.....I will go check again.
      Hope this pressure technique will work so it can serve again.
      Thanks

      could u please let me know the results of this i have the same problem ... but i do believe that they are separate chips... my bluetooth is working fine....

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 7 років тому

      Hi,
      I have another method because the chip design of G4 is different from G3. I searched the technical service manual and also some other websites.
      I tried the add something to increase the pressure but it seems not working for G4......... I tried to do baking method and then put on thermopaste with diamond sand mixed within and it worked fine the whole night and even after complete shut down and then start up.......BUT... it failed again when I charge the battery on the phone.
      I cannot give you a 100% answer at this point as it failed again. I am going to do one more experiment and to see if my guess if correct: It is the on board charging cause the problem. (And I always find it ridiculous..... if on board high temperature will cause problem, then why baking will fix it....??? I understand the theory, but still find it is funny and not sure how to exactly explain it....)
      Give me some more time. I will give you my experiment result.

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 7 років тому

      Sadly... it only worked for short time and then does not work......I tried to add things to make sure the chip is pressed with pressure...but it does not work this time...plus, my screen showed light force mark on the screen, because of the pressure I add there.
      Seems like ....... the only one chance to fix it....I missed....
      You can try backing method, and remember do not charge battery on the cellphone. Buy a separate battery charger to charge your battery. The on board charging may be the main cause to burn the WI-FI ship.
      Hope you have better luck then I do.....I miss my this G4..... Well, I am back on using the second still....

    I have a different problem than this. When I turn on the wifi, it works as it should and connects to a WIFI, but in about 5-6 seconds phone bricks and restarts itself. (Sometimes it just works tho) Then when it tries to boot, it restarts itself again and again after seeing LG logo for about 7-8 seconds. So I press the lock button for about 15-20 seconds to shut it down then turn it on. It works normally. I did a factory reset but it doesn't seem to fix it. What do you think is the problem?

    I am able to connect to my router but not able browse. What will be the reason? I have checked with other phones, they are able to connect properly. Issue is in the phone.

    Thank you! My WiFi is working again, I won't have to buy a new phone now. The only problem is that the screen has a light blue tone just above the WiFi chip, I guess it's due to the pressure

    My Bluetooth works fine but Wi-Fi does not. Every now and then it'll turn on for a minute then go back off. The MAC address is there too. Would you say that this would fix the issue?

      Hi Jeremy!
      It is hard to tell... judging by your description it appears to be this kind of problem, yes. Try this test: While operating, push against the backside (the WiFi chip is usually located on the left side when you are facing the phone's display) of your phone and see if the WiFi comes back. If the WiFi reacts, this is a very strong evidence that it's in fact this problem and you can try to fix it as described. If you get no reaction, it could still be the problem; because some WiFi chips are covered with an extra metal cover, this test will very unlikely show results for those.
      In any case, whatever you do, consider this as a last resort solution: Try it only if you dont have anything else to lose. And by the way, before you try anything, do a full backup of your data!
      Good luck.

    Yep: a tiny little bit of hard plastic (from a supermarket packet of parsley, if you must know) fixed it for me, at least for the moment, so thanks for this video!
    Tip: I actually used the bit of plastic folded in half, with the idea of it pressing better that way. Time will tell. ;)
    Nexus 5, saved again. :)
    Update a few minutes later: no, gone again. But at least it seems that's where the problem is. Still useful, thanks!

      Hello Sam!
      I've read in different forums that sometimes, this WiFi solution solved other problems as well, so if you are lucky it could fix your SIM card problem. However, of course there is no guarantee that it will actually help, and I have never myself experienced it solving other stuff but the WiFi. It's worth a try though, I guess.
      Good luck.

    Hello, Friend.
    I just too about 10 minutes to fix my previous Lg G4 which had problem with the WIFI and BT. I did the baking method, but still add some thing to the chip as you recommended in this video.
    When powered on~~~ it is working very well~~~~~ I will monitor how long it is good for and then let you know.
    Thanks for at least giving me some hope that this machine is not totally dead.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Update.....only worked for 30 minutes...probably I did not put sufficient pressure....

    • @thehappen7525
      @thehappen7525  7 років тому

      Hi there!
      That is sad news! :-(
      However, the fact that it worked, even if only for 30 minutes, indicates to me that its indeed a defective soldering somewhere. If you add a bit more pressure it might help... there is a tiny chance.
      Anyways, thank you for coming back and sharing your experience!
      Good luck!

      Hi CStrike! So, your Bluetooth works now and doesn't find other bluetooth devices? Or is it still turning off/on again?
      If it is working, it should find other BT devices given they have their BT turned on.
      Maybe you have an antenna problem, there are other videos for that...

    • @PRC2388
      @PRC2388 8 років тому

      The Happen Yes. my bluetooth work, can turn on. but it does not find any device, while I have tried a lot of other phones.

    • @thehappen7525
      @thehappen7525  8 років тому

      Okay, if your BT works but it doesn't find any device, then you might have an antenna problem.
      You can try to improve your antenna signal like it is done in this video: ua-cam.com/video/UdDJqFxpRy8/v-deo.html
      However there is no guarantee that it will work, unfortunately.
      Good luck!

    I have had this same problem. Wifi stopped turning on. There are many many tips online to get this working again. However for me the only thing that worked was for me to heat up the wifi chip on the mother board and then quickly place pressure on the chip followed by putting a thin square slice of a used credit card plactic on the wifi chip and put the body of the phone back together with the plactic keeping pressure on the chip. This quick fix for me has been working for over 2 weeks now. As to how it happened. Conspiracy theory aside. I beleive it happened one day I was outside and it was well below 26 degrees outside. I went from a temp of 80 inside to going out side in the cold and the solder to the chip due to the thermal shock temp change came loose.

    is this permanant solution for long turm uses or for better result can i give some hot gun air to the wifi ic or i must replace with a new ic plz give your wise advise thanks in advance 😊

    • @thehappen7525
      @thehappen7525  8 років тому +1

      Hi! Well, the most honest answer is: "You better be lucky!" :-)
      From my experience I can tell you that it is pretty close to a permanent solution. I would always try this first before going in with the heat gun action, because with the heat gun there is a chance you destroy things. You can still try the heat gun as your second choice in case this solution didn't work (long enough).
      As for replacing the IC, I would personally never do that as I find it too cumbersome and error prone. I'd rather replace the whole main board instead, that is easier and most likely to work.
      Anyways, in the vast majority of cases the problem is not caused by a defective IC, but by a broken soldering between the IC and the main board. Means: You don't really need to replace the chip but instead fix the soldering.
      In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. In my opinion you should go with this solution, but I am sure there are people out there who would advise you something completely different. So the best thing you can do, is to go with whatever solution you feel the most comfortable and confident with.
      Good luck!

      Hi!
      There is no guarantee that replacing the battery will fix your WiFi. I haven't experienced it myself, but I know of one guy who claims that he replaced his battery and after that his WiFi apparently worked. So, I don't know if he was telling the truth, but it might be worth to try it.
