    Back in 2002 I was 12, ‘new’ TopGear was only just starting and EVERY SUNDAY after dinner at 8pm we’d all sit down for an hour and listen to the big three review the latest cars, or just piss around. For some reason this video, the filmography and the music along with your knack for explaining your views, and the knowledge about the vehicle oozes throwbacks to ‘that’ Aston Martin V12 Vantage film, the music oozes the car vs train vs bike episode. Not to compare this to top gear but 22 years later I’m sat with my Dad, Mum and Brother again when times were simpler, simply enjoying cars. Love you Chris, we all do.

    • @DonLee1980
      @DonLee1980 2 місяці тому +19

      wrong. The M4 weighs 1770kg, in base trim, ready to drive and 90% fuel. The Ferrari FU-V weighs 2033kg, with no fuel, no oil, no coolant, no nothing, no luxury items like heavy electric seats, but has all the lightened expensive options. I haven't seen a proper weigh-in of this Ferrari, but given that a "dry" 1570kg SF90 weighs actually 1800kg curb weight, I don't see this FUV being anything less than 2200kg.

    I'm quite enjoying the 'late to the party' aspect of the recent films. I don't mind that I might have seen a million vids on the Purosangue. It's seeming smart to wait - let the influencers be busy telling us what spec they would buy or, have ordered - let the dust settle. Let peoples initial reaction to a new design have time to ruminate, and then with more than a few hours and enough miles covered, give us the Chris Harris take. The final take. Wether one agrees or not, allowing us to get into the head space of the few fortunate people able to drop half a mill on a new vehicle is interesting. Genuine automotive journalism.

    I think it would look spectacular without the carbon fiber wheel arches as I see it as a big hot hatch, Ferrari's V12 hot hatchback!!

People forget that actually everyone was sick of what Top gear had become, people wanted more stuff like this years before the old TG ended, and so they totally missed a trick trying to copy the old TG format, they should have just let you do this just on the BBC. I'm fortunate, Ferrari NA sent me an invitation to test drive the Purosangue more than a year ago. I'm a multi-Ferrari owner. What struck me most about the Purosangue is the quality of the interior which is world class. I currently own an RSQ8 so that is my comparison. Does it earn a $350k premium over the RSQ8. To be honest, no. I couldn't discern a speed differential. The interior of the Ferrari is fantastic. Chris remarks on it in the video and he is correct. Performance wise, it was a bit of a disappointment for a $500k vehicle. If I had FU money, this would be the SUV for me. But I don't have FU money. The exterior is as unremarkable in person as it is in video. However, the interior, it's quite lovely. Lastly, the Purosangue invokes little driving passion and I think Ferrari was aiming more toward luxury. If luxury is the target, Purosangue is the new benchmark.
