- PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION - Are you a beginner painter? Want to learn how to paint with acrylics? Looking for an easy spring painting idea? Let me be your acrylic art instructor as I teach you easy step-by-step instructions throughout this fun beginner art video as you learn how to paint a vintage pick-up truck with flowers in the cab-a fun landscape “SPRINGTIME FLOWER TRUCK”. The snow has melted, which can only mean one thing--it's spring! All my favorite perennials, including, foxglove, peonies, iris, tulips, daffodils, monarda, penstemon, phlox, rudbeckia, salvia, sedum, and veronica, start blooming and, it’s time to take one big trip to my local Home Depot to stalk up on my annuals, including, zinnias, cosmos, larkspur, marigolds and sunflowers. This painting of a spring flower truck is inspired by my once-a-year trip to the garden center around mid-April-a blue vehicle with flowers overloaded in the back driving along the country road on a clear crisp sunny day. So, join me and celebrate the welcoming in of spring and the longer days, warmer weather, flowers blooming, and soil-sifting gardening, and paint this rustic country truck carrying spring flowers ready to be planted in the upcoming spring season! The painting process is so easy to follow and learn from. First, you’ll learn how to use simple painting techniques for blending colors and adding depth and atmospheric dimension for a beautiful and dramatic background by capturing a crisp spring day and creating a feel of warmth, tranquility and comfort. Then you’ll learn how to use a dotting, or stippling technique for painting foliage and grass to create the perfect looking countryside meadow landscape. Then, after learning how to draw an outline for your truck using a simple dot-to-dot method, you’ll apply a base coat to work off of. You’ll learn how to create contours and shapes on your vehicle by layering colors and adding highlights and shadows giving form and shine to the metal creating a realistic 3-D effect like a photograph. Then you’ll learn how to paint a variety of flowers using a one brushstroke technique. You can personalize your painting with your favorite flowers or vehicle, whether it’s rose, orchid, bird of paradise, daisy, pansy or lily, a bus, a Hotrod, a classic, or Telsa. This is a painting inspired by the power of imagination, so feel free to use yours! The painting process is so simple you’ll feel like it is a paint by numbers. Using only 3 brushes and 8 colors, you’ll paint like a professional! Have a date night at home, paint party, paint and sip event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or watercolor, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy. It's an easy art project. I hope you enjoy watching this UA-cam art video and let's get painting and let's get sipping!

Lovely painting. Great teacher ! I like that we can see your paint palette now. I can tell better how much paint you are using. Thank you 😀
Thanks so much 😊
I adore that you paint barefoot!!!
Thanks!
I've been doing your paintings and on smaller size pieces of tin and I hang them on my cupboard doors for an old fashioned farmhouse look. I've bought some tin signs which gave me the idea to do it on tin. The other signs are gardening signs but I do your food n flower signs along w them n they are adorable. If anyone wants to do this you do have to put polyurethane spray over them when they are dry so they dont chip xo
Thank you so much!
Beautiful
I love the painting of the Truck with the Springtime flowers, makes me want to paint it. You are an awesome painter and teacher.
I love it. Thank you

I have to keep my drink on a separate table, because I dip my paint bush in it lol

My coffee now has a nice cobalt blue tinge to it. Ahhh the struggles of an artist.

I love learning from you ❤ I have a question, what type of Easel do you have? I started with a table top Easel and now I want to upgrade. Especially if I want to work with bigger canvases
Hi Lauren, I use an H fame which you can purchase here: www.dickblick.com/categories/furniture/ Have fun painting!
@@michellethepainter. Thank you ❤️
You are awesome lady
Thanks!
Very good
Underbart vackert ❤❤❤
Just beautiful ❤. I wish I could do my table like that. But my other half comes in, everything he brings home he pile it on my table. Even when I have it decorated 😢.
Michelle, if you were doing a deep red truck, would you shade with a brown or still use black? Also. What is your canvas primed with?
Black. My canvases are already primed but you can use an extra layer of acrylic gesso for added adhesion. Have fun!
Nuostabu.Aciu❤❤❤❤❤
Wow i which i had your talent!!!!!!
Thank you!
I notice that you have a list of paintings for kids, but there are several of the others that say beginner on them that you can only notice once you click on them. It sure would be nice if you had a category in your playlist just for beginner paintings. Maybe you could consider this.
Hi Kelly, the Cookies and Canvas are for kids but all my other paintings are beginner level despite how difficult some may seem because I break everything down step-by-step, and into chapters, and I use a limited palette and number of brushes. Just enjoy the process and go for it. Have fun!
Hey Bestie… awh !!! Come on eh!!!!! You are now definitely looking into my closet from the past….. Downhome NB 🇨🇦 in Turtle Creek, yup thats what it was called where my grandparents lived. And the family used to get together on Sunday afternoons. Old pickem’ ups. All kinds a junkers because that all most of the family could afford. And play bluegrass…yup all that great stuff. Thanks for the memory lane on a Saturday afternoon. Good name for this painting…aren’t ya glad you got me?? IM sure glad I got you… BBout
That's wonderful! And Bluegrass rocks! Loved my grandpa's old squeaky pick up too! Thanks BB!
@@michellethepainter. oh yeah we’d all jump in the back and go to the local watering hole for a swim. And yes it was under the old unused train tracks. Cool oh yeah!
@@gwenw9250 Cool!
What brand of paint do you use?
Blick
@@laceydriver4349 is
Is it craft paint or heavy body acrylic?
It is neither, it is a student grade paint. It is more fluid like kind of, heavy body is more of a professional paint, and definitely more expensive, student grade paint is still good paint, it just tends to be a lot cheaper and just doest have as much pigment as the heavy body. And craft paint is a lot cheaper and usually comes in 2 Oz bottles, folkart and apple barrel paints are examples of craft paint. I will post a link for u of the exact paint that Michelle uses, I actually purchased some a couple of years ago when I first started following Michelle's tutorials. It really does make a difference when trying to follow her techniques. And it is very affordable as well! Hope this helps 😊
Hi Sue, I only use Blickrylics which you can purchase here: berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/shop Have fun painting!

@@michellethepainter. I sure will. Have a lot of making up to do now lol. The other day, as you know, made my collection small. Hugs
