  • I am located in the eastern part of Etosha National Park, my accommodation is Fort Namutoni and I enjoy the diverse wildlife and the diversity of Africa's wild cats. At the Chudop waterhole, three Eland antelopes, the largest antelopes in Africa, come to drink. My trip on the Dik-Dik-Drive, a small loop not far from Fort Namutoni, is worth it! First I discover a herd of elephants in the bush, only to see them again a little later at the Klein Namutoni waterhole: from arriving, drinking and bathing to the little ones playing extensively I can watch them to the fullest right up to the point of moving away together.
The next day isn't less spectacular: Lionesses greet me early in the morning in the soft light of the rising sun, and for the first time I spot an African wildcat at the Groot Okevi waterhole. It's amusing how after a while she runs away from the presence of a curious giraffe. As I continue towards Camp Halali, I am lucky enough to meet two cheetahs. One of them looks out for a brief moment on a termite mound - a scene I've always wanted to see live, and this holiday it's happening - fantastic!
