I have one myself, its great. Taking portraits with it at 105mm F4 is quite better then with 24-70mm at 70mm f2.8. Also, I find the "bokeeh" more pleasing with this new 10 aperture version, compared to 24-70mm f2.8 II, I made some tests, and the 24-105 looked surprisingly better I have to say. Th IS is fantstic on this one as well.
No IS on the 2.8 is a major deal breaker. You will find you need to stop to 2.8 to speed up to avoid the camera shake. The f4 lets you slow things down to get the same low light capability. You just don't get the DOF, but at f4 105mm you still get nice blur.
I have just watched this, thanks bro, you have given me confidence that I shouldn't be worried about this lens because I just got it a month ago but I was wondering if I made a wrong choice, I currently have only two lenses, 24-105 and 50mm 1.8 ..just trying to understand wedding videography, I have shot 4 weddings earlier but they are too amatuer, no story, poor color grading some footage was shaky and worst of all, people with weaker cameras have better results than mine...I have a canon 6dii , I hope we are to get more videos from you brother

Why just video? You don't use it for stills too? What camera body are you shooting it with?
