@Heather Smith I can tell you rn that I brought two pairs of tennis shoes (one that was already worn and dirty for hiking and adventuring, and one that was clean and new for working out on the ship and daily wear), a pair of brown leather booties, a pair of vans sneakers, one pair of thin strappy leather sandals (comfortable!), and one pair of nicer sandals for the alumni ball... and I think that was it!
@Heather Smith You absolutely NEED closed toes shoes because they want you to wear those most of the time on the ship, because if doors slam when it's wavy you need your toes protected! also tennis shoes/comfy shoes are the way to go when in country, because it keeps your feet blister-free and clean... like bring the comfiest shoes you own, because you'll be walking a ton!
I'm planning on doing a SAS and your videos are soooo helpful 😆, but I want to do it as a Gap year and I'm from Germany so I'm a bit worried about being a double outsider 😅, do you know if the foreign students had any bigger problems?
i don’t think they did! there was a club for international students so they had support from each other in case things were weird, but everyone fit in just fine :) one of my really good friends was from germany on the voyage!!
There is a library with books that you can check out! There are lots that are class related and some that probably aren't your idea of a *fun read*, but then there are probably at least 50 that aren't dry and would be enjoyable!
Jess Horst thank you so much!! Your videos are so helpful and I really appreciate how you take the time to answer all the questions in your comments! ❤️
no i didn't... if i could go back again i would bring a blanket though! like a tie blanket or a soft one just to cuddle with/be able to take it out of my room.
and i knew a few people who brought pillow pets which seems like a good option, so whatever would make you comfiest in your cabin you should definitely bring!
Hey.. I love your videos and the best part is that you reply to everyone with any question❤️😊😊
I was wondering if you can do a video on maybe ideas of fundraising ideas or ways to save up for a voyage.
Sure! I have a money saving vid already but I can for sure go more in depth :)
You definitely need to make a video about your which clothes and shoes your packed! You did such a good job!
I will for sure do that soon!

I think I may have also brought my birkenstocks!

Is there a library on the ship with books or should you just bring your own?

But I found it easy to have books on a kindle/kindle app so they wouldn't take up space in my bag -- maybe do a balance of both!

did you bring extra pillows or blankets/sheets?

If you had a name tag on your bag put your stuff in the bag and then write a name tag that would be very smart and good thinking
that is super smart! great idea :)
Bring a nametag if you're going on a trip that way I'll have your name on
