Finally, I have found a teacher.
learned a lot from RC Sproul, most notably the teaching on holiness of GOD, I thought I was a born again Christian for more than 30 years, till I heard his teaching on GOD'S holiness and had a 0.0000001% glimpse of GOD'S holiness in HIS WORD (BIBLE), that showed me my true wretched and filthy state, and through GOD'S grace, brought me to my knees and to repentance that leads unto life and to the worship of ONE TRIUNE GOD.
Amen! That's what I need in my Christian today life.

I have recently started listening to Mr. Sproul, and my only regret of starting is that I started three years after his death. At least I have UA-cam to learn and enjoy the legacy he left behind.

Great sermon illustrated by RC’s personal anecdotes. Re: temporary zeal, see also Matt 13:20-21 - the word is first received with joy but dureth only for a while.
RC Sproul in our time, was the equivalent of CH Spurgeon back then. His messages will live on to teach Pastors and lay persons alike

Nothing you have said has anything to do with me or my comment. There’s no right or wrong here the man teaches the Bible and that is always right. Obviously everyone has an opinion that’s why you just gave one, and in my opinion he was an awesome teacher as was Spurgeon
R. C. knew the mind of people like me. He knew how not to over shoot the target 🎯...

I've listened to Spurgeon's preaching, I think RC Sproul has deeper understanding and a better teacher than Spurgeon...

I’ve never appreciated comparing 2 humans to each other. Even identical twins are individuals with their own path. Sturgeon died in the 1800’s so any comparison you make is unnecessary and completely irrelevant since you are not hearing all his yrs of preaching… even with the recordings we have. However, I went to Sprouls church, listened to his live tapes, then recordings for many yrs.
Simply put, there’s no need for comparison

Yes, Dr. Sproul may be the best Bible teacher in a classroom format in the last century. His teaching is so very rich !

Living in the "face of God" is a difficult "wrestling match against myself, " the sin principle that remains with me until I die. I am a Christian who served in the 3/506th 101st airborne infantry during the 1968 Tet Offensive in Viet Nam. The Lord caused me to live in spite of by bullet wound which chopped up my femoral artery.
Well said, I don't think there's been a finer Bible teacher via the classroom format within the Christian Community of the last 50 years.... quite like Dr. RC Sproul.
What a preacher ! We miss you RC. Would have loved to hear how you would have preached now during this pandemic with so many Christians running around fearful of the Covid. The gospel is the only truth to preach - no other preachings should be listened When everything changes NOTHING changes for the Christian we keep our eyes on God 🙏🛐

RC was a devoted , zealous , great preacher and and theologian. and holds his preachings wholy from the bible. He and Macathur have stood firm in the conservstive interpretation of the bible. RC is now in the presence of the Lord Jesus🙏💐🌷

Pastor Conlon Carter Sermons brought me here and I thankful because I’ve never heard the Bible explained in its simplest form, I can’t believe I’m just hearing of this man of God. His life his teachings his passion and his loyalty to God is truly Authentic and I thank God that he left a legacy such as this🙏🏽🙏🏽

Most pastor will stop and just end you just need to be living perfectly. Rc sproul is down to earth and knows the struggle.
I wish more reformed pastor like john macarthur had this humility to admit this.
To be honest, I think this is Johnny Mac’s view also, but I do think his emphasis is often against antinomianism

A very intelligent way of explaining our faults and struggling in becoming the person as far character and all that Jesus wants.

With all due respect to RC whom I respect well, in this verse, is it not: if you love me, if you keep on loving me (from beholding me), you will be (end up) keeping my commandments? After all, both Paul Washer & Michael Durham interpreted ‘obedience’ as a consequence. Obedience is the consequence of inner joy/rejoicing IN Christ alone. Also, obedience is the consequence of inner love poured out by the Holy Spirit afresh into our hearts whenever a truth in Scripture is truly internally 100% believed. Even in OT, the joy of the Lord is my strength to obey-all to the glory of God. Right? However, I so agree that the only way to abide in God to glorify Him, is to persevere with God-ordained means of grace & trust Him for His own (humanly unearned) grace in saving perseverance of us all.

Not sure preaching without notes is particularly wise or relevant; but I never spoke to anyone who didn't love RC ! He was a down-to-earth kind of man who kept it heavenly in the pulpit. MacArthur, my pastor for years, loved him dearly and eulogized him at his send-off. Does anyone know when RC gave up the smokes? I think that's what got him ...not sure. Spurgeon was also a smoker -- cigars. I'm not trying to justify smoking, which I gave up years ago, or anyone else's .. just to say: he was a regular guy , now in glory!
@@TheAvenstar I wouldn't want to speak without notes myself, I love John MacArthur, but I didn't know R. C. Until after he went home, I know he was a regular guy, used by God, and that what we pray for ourselves, to be humble and used by God.

@@randycadkins I first heard Mac (I've always called him that. No disrespect intended) on the radio in the late 70s or early 80s. Not sure. I'm a former catholic, converted to Christianity in '77 while living in Chicago. Moved to L.A. just to attend Grace Church. May God bless you in your ministry as you stay faithful to the Word and avoid the traps of preaching pop messages. I know that has always been the key to the growth of Grace Community Church. The place is packed with thousands of young people feasting on the exposited Word ...NOT some temporal message which may or may not impact their immediate future.

As a believer in meticulous determination , e.g. 'no rogue molecules', Sproul would be forced to admit no man could live in any way other than that which God has already determined for that man. If he was right, to encourage people to do anything is just going through the motions for it is already determined what they will or will not do, as is his encouragement. It's nuts. The argument that God ordains the 'means' is no refuge.
Creating a being with libertarian free will is no threat to God, as demonstrated by Noah's flood and the Tower of Babel. God always has options for those who choose not to cooperate.

Why would you assume people who learn piano want to become concert performers? Maybe they just want to know the basics so they can play.
The leap from wanting to learn piano to becoming a concert player is enormous.
The very reason God created us was to love him and keep his commandments and, yes, that means God's law that he never even mentions.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
This is what pleasing God is all about. Romans 8:There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus who walk in the righteousness of the law empowered by the Spirit. We obey God's law and that is our righteousness, not just cleansing of our sins by the blood.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Those who will not have God reign over them, who will not be under the law of God, hate God and cannot please him.
Jesus did not obey the law for us. This is our righeousness.
1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

And yet not one word about faith in this whole 26 min. video. You would think that if scripture said of one thing you would have to do, that without it, it would be impossible to please God, he would at least mention it. Well, here it is Heb. 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Why did he not mention the parable of the lost sheep? Could it be because the sheep did nothing and deserves no glory? And he twists the parable of the lost coin in such a way that we are the woman searching?? Christ is not lost. We are. And the prodigal only came home because he was hungry. He had no where else to go. He didn't "press in to reach his father." Wow! I never knew much about this guy either. Not what I expected.

You Do NOT Please God by going to R.C.Sproul! Jesus Said To Seek HIM and His Righteousness. Jesus Gives direct personal revelation to everyone who Seek Him. If you Seek Jesus..You will Get Jesus. If you seek R.C.Sproul..you will get some mans cherry-picked bible version of Jesus. Seek Jesus..Himself..Folks!
But God also speaks to us through preachers; we could see Paul preaching and debating with an audience in the Bible. And if anyone doesn't cherry-pick it is R.C. His authority comes solely from scripture.

Jesus Words are the Standard. If what a man says is not in line with what Jesus Said..it is either untrue or unimportant. Jesus IS Gods Word. The Bible is full of opinions that are Not in line with what Jesus Teaches. That is what men teach..man crap!
