I agree how in the world did that tracker follow that child's tracks up thay Hill that was so steep... Thank God they found him he tried to child or he got child would have been probably never found and died
Yes - so tragic, but he couldn't get over the feeling of being guilty for his son's disappearance. It wasn't his fault, that child had no way of getting out, yet somehow did.
Faye's case is beyond baffling. I can't even imagine how, scientifically, that child managed to get where she was under the conditions of that night. If there is a paranormal explanation that _makes sense_ I think I'd be inclined to accept it. The weird thing is that Faye only smiled and laughed when asked about it. That one is downright creepy.
the supernatural doesn't exist tho.. come on now.. really?? people who BELIEVE anything without sufficient EVIDENCE are just dupes that will believe anything
Yeah definiely creepy, no idea what went down but it had to be either a Animal protected her or paranormal. Both are hard to prove as theres nothing to go off of and unless she comes out with the story we will never know what actually happend when she went missing up until she was found
I have lived most of my life in the Arkansas National Park and these stories fascinate me yet I don't recall any strange creatures or mysterious incidents here. Yet I can imagine something whether human or animal has got to be hunting humans in the more remote parks
all theese kids walking record miles in record times when no one is looking ... makes me REALLY suspicious of my 5 years old complaining after 5 minute of walk in the park " I'm tired ! Carry me !"
@@EderPaz yea not walking through snow but opening a car door hmmm, but not take away from the sheer horror that these people went through but leaving your kids in a car alone is a big no no.
I think being responsible of your sons disappearance, and also being aware of that responsibility is punishment enough. Why they decided to take it a step further and throw a grief stricken father of 5 in jail is beyond me.
@@kjames5682 yes, but him knowing they had labeled his son's passing as negligent homicide and was his fault, that probably didn't help his mental state. Maybe if they had ruled it an accident, he wouldn't have taken his own life. We'll never know, but I feel so bad for his family
Are you dense? Got what he deserved? A man’s child died out in the snow, he was charged with negligent homicide and later committed suicide despite having never harmed his child and having no way he could have known that stopping for a simple conversation would have resulted in his death. I’ve heard some rotten things, but good god, to say that was deserved. You’re out of your mind if you think anything in this situation was deserved.
Never harmed his child??? Are YOU dense. His child is dead because of HIS neglect. He obviously was too far away to see his truck, he got side tracked talking. You don’t leave your child like that. He is the reason his kid is dead. I feel bad for the child and the family but that guy??? Na
Phew, that last story was truly heartbreaking. All of the Missing 411 cases that result in death or the people never being found are heartbreaking, but that last case was particularly dismal. I can't imagine the weight of the guilt that father felt. The weight was so heavy that he felt his conviction & court sentence weren't enough to punish him for his son's death. My heart goes out to the rest of his children.
JT Spartan Yah... did anyone ask the tracker how on earth he was able to track to where this child had”walked/climbed/scrambled...” how was the tracker able to track this child up to this type of terrain...? Did he find footprints or was it by smell? How did he track him, even if was by a bird of flight???... super curious of the knowledge of the tracker.
I admire Mr Ballen for not judging people. He tells the story they way it should be told ..with respect. The last story broke my heart.. please please please never leave your child in a vehicle alone.
This. It's so easy to point fingers when there isn't a clear explanation and to blame people for mistakes they believed would be harmless at the time (despite every single person on the planet having messed up big time at least once in their lives). The father who felt so guilty that he took his own life is so heartbreaking and I can't imagine the guilt and pain he felt. Then you see comments like "he deserved it" or "it was his fault" (same with some of the other parents in the stories), which is just sickening. Kids are mischievous and most parents believe that their kid is safe and nothing would happen to their kids. It's easy to get separated or have a false sense of security and a lot of people seem to forget that... leading to this perfect God-complex mentality of "well I would never do that" or "I would never lose my child" or "shame on those people for not doing what I would have done". MrBallen is amazing for not placing blame and being able to empathize with the grief stricken parents.
I mean back in the 80s we always waited in the cars while parents did their shopping. Wasnt near as hot then and ppl weren't nearly as brazen or evil for the most part.
@@dazzlingextremes389 That is positively FALSE. Statistically speaking kids are safer today than at any time in our nations history. With modern forensics, national databases, HD cameras on every street and in most every business, touch DNA etc. etc. We are safer today than ever! These cases are widely publicized and make the round the clock news channels and are all over the internet today so it seems like you’re always hearing about a new one. A missing child that is found dead is in fact a pretty rare occurrence considering we live in a country of 330 million people. The numbers don’t lie! Google it…..And as for your statement about it being warmer today having anything to do with leaving kids in cars??? You don’t actually believe that do you…..
It's so easy done though. When your little ones asleep n strapped in the car n you don't want wake him, and your somewhere you know and or nobodys around, I can see how people do it not thinking but I cant imagine how ud feel if that happened
A few years ago in Australia (possibly 2012/2013?) A man put his son in his car, to drop him off at daycare, on his way to work. When he arrived at work (at around 8:30am), he parked in an undercover car park, locked the car & went to his office building. He left work at around 5pm & remembered that he had to pick his son up on the way home. He arrived at the daycare centre & asked the staff to get his sons things together so they could leave. Staff were a little surprised because his son hadn't been at the centre that day at all. The man went pale & raced out to his car to find his son still in his carseat, unresponsive. The child had fallen asleep on the way to daycare & the dad had forgotten his son was in the car at all! Heartbreaking story!
That happens in America about 10x every summer. A few years back a father was convicted. It was determined that he had left his child locked in the heat on purpose. He wanted to be free of his wife & child.
So terribly sad. This happened twice in NZ in the past 20 years, both times the baby died. Each time it had been a break in routine, the parent who usually took the child to daycare was unable to. It goes to show how much of our lives we spend on autopilot 😢
@@TussockBlue I dont buy the break in routine excuse. If you don't usually do something but one day you do have that extra thing to do, you don't just forget it because it changes your entire plans. You dress the kid, feed him, buckle him into his seat....all when you usually don't. Then all of a sudden, after doing all that extra stuff, forget he's there? No way.
@@qualiswilliams7403 for sure! The parents left her somewhere 3 miles away while she was sound asleep hoping she'd get eaten by predators or die naturally.
Oh, I am not suprized at all that he could find the kid. A tracker like that is using every sense and intuition. I have no dount a large freaking eagle swooped in and snatched that boy. Or other "large flying being" that can carry large prey with ease.
I don't think that story was 100% true there's no news article or anything other than the 411 book. Couldn't the kid give at least some insight, since he was unharmed. I can't even find how old the kid was.
Growing up in Nevada, I was taught to "never turn your back in the desert" when hiking or trekking with your friends in the desert. Partly for wild animals (coyotes, mountain lions) and partly for opened mineshafts, because you never know what's stalking you or what you could step into.
Does anyone else find themselves searching through Mr Ballen's videos, hoping to find a new one they maybe haven't seen yet, only to rewatch their fav's over & over, because they just can't get enough? Totally binge worthy!!! Ur hrs off effort per upload is really paying of Mr Ballen.
once I was left in the car at night and I woke up alone not knowing where my mom and dad were. I completely fruited. I honked the horn, and was crying and screaming. I was so scared, and then I left the car, and went looking in the neighborhood where they had taken me knocking on random doors askikng people if my mom and dad were inside, It was one of the most horrifying things that ever happened to me. NEVER leave your kids alone in a car. NEVER!!!
@@ferocient so as a kid not knowing any better I got out of the car and went to the house that the car was parked closest to and was just going from house to house knocking on random doors and then luckily somehow the people my parents were there to visit looked out and saw me walking around the neighborhood and my mom came out and got me
Lmao, right? My parents always kept an eye on me. I’m 41, and they still make sure to call me all the time. Probably why I’m still alive today. As a teen I never had time to do stupid shit they knew everything. On the rare occasions I did do stupid shit, they knew what I was up to and just let it go and made sure I was safe. I’m grateful for that.
Totally! Even if I think there’s no way my daughter could get abducted or something, what happens if she decides to take the brake off or something? Not worth it.
A couple of these stories are inexplicable, especially the toddler found up on the ledge of a cliff. Eagles are strong but are they strong enough to carry a small child that high? They're also smart but are they smart enough to use a tree branch as a trap? The last story was particularly heart wrenching. RIP to all the wee souls who lost their lives under such sad circumstances and also to Gage's father.
I just watched a video this morning of an eagle killing a wolf and carrying it off, so if they can do this, yes, they can easily carry off with a 3 yr old in flight as well. Whether or not this is what actually happened here, is a completely different story!
@@Lacroix999 Yeah but an eagle would not be able to trap the child’s neck under a branch like that. Also, how did he not die of hypothermia? I doubt an eagle would sit there all night HUGGING the child to keep him warm. Makes no sense.
A north American golden eagle( largest in N. Amer. ) would not be strong enough to pick up and fly away with a 25 lb. child. Fly fast enough and hit it with it's talons and kill it ? Probably. I've seen them have trouble getting a 13 lb. fish in the air. Some eagles around the globe could easily fly off with a child that weighed even more than 25 lbs. .But c'mon people no damn eagle made off with these children. Bigfoot did !!
That last story is completely heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine what it would feel like to have to know your small child died of hypothermia probably crying for you.
My mom forgot to drop me off at daycare when I was an infant, I spent the day in my snowsuit in my car seat, until her lunch break when she discovered me and dropped me off at the sitters, it was Maine in the winter. It was the 80s, nobody thought twice
Plot Twist: He was the kidnapper, who then carried a young white boy up a mountain and locking his neck in place. So that he could evidently offer his expert services.
Those Native trackers have abilities that defy our conventional scientific explanation. Our words to explain it would be "paranormal" or "supernatural" or "preternatural".
Friend: What did you learn during lockdown? Me: Always be the guy who changes his mind last minute and waits outside, never go scuba diving, I'm a fan of the strange, dark and mysterious delivered in story format...
Especilly the last case is so heartbreaking. Never leave a small sleeping child alone in a car. One of my most vivid memories from when I was around 3 years old is waking up in the backseat of our car and to my absolute horror noticing that I was alone inside the parked car. Before I fell asleep I had been in the car together with my dad who was driving. I remember starting to cry out of fear and saying "daddy, daddy"over and over again, just completely in shock and overcome with fear. I didn't know why we had stopped. I didn't know where my dad had gone. I didn't know why he had left me. I didn't know when and if he was coming back. I was beside myself with fear and anxiety. And I distnctly remember wanting to leave the car and go look for my dad. But thank God I stayed put in the car. Then after what seemed like forever (but was probably only a few minutes) I saw my dad coming out of a grocery store in front of which the car was parked. He came back to the car with the groceries and I was so relieved but also very upset with him. I remember crying and asking him why he left me and why he didn't wake me up. From his perspective, he had noticed I had fallen asleep and thought it best to let me sleep in the locked car while he popped into the grocery store. But from my perspective, I was terrified to wake up alone in the car not knowing where he was and why he had left me. Please everyone, don't leave a small child alone in a locked car. A child's logic can be very different from an adult's.
Yes the same thing happened to me as a kid. Also when I was about 7 years old, taking a nap, my mother left me home and I woke up alone. I was so scared that I went to the neighbors house and told them my mom was gone and I didn't know where she went. She came home as I was talking to the neighbors, she had only went to the gas station. I don't think parents should leave their kids without letting them know, and when I have kids I will always remember these instances.
As a father of 3 children, I would never, under any circumstances leave a child alone in a car. The last story really hit home as I could imagine outliving me sons, especially if I was the cause. I can see why he thought sucide was the way out as that amount of guilt would crush any father.
You're so right. Thanks for sharing. I did something similar to my daughter without actually leaving. We had just taken her sister to school and came back to our apartment complex. It was really cold and my neighbor lady came out to talk. She was smoking, so I got out of the car to talk to her. My little girl had been asleep in her carseat and must've woke up when I got out. Minutes had passed while we were talking. When I said bye and went to grab my daughter, she was balling. She couldn't see behind her because she was strapped in. I couldn't hear her through the car and thick hat I had on. I felt so horrible and she still remembers it.
Also, never trust that the AC in a car is going to keep working properly. A few summers ago, in Vegas, my cat Zoey was in the car with me and I had to run into a store real quick. So I left the car IDLEING, FULLY RUNNING, with the AC on max. It was 105° outside. Thank God I was only in that store for a few minutes. When I was walking back to the car, I saw Zoey pawing at the window, she was crying, then she collapsed. When I opened the door, a wave of hot air came rushing out like when you take something out of the oven. She was laying limp on the seat. I had NEVER had ANY issues with my AC before. But somehow in those few minutes the AC hadnt just stopped working, it turned to heat and was blasting max heat into the car. I had just bought a chilled bottle of water so I poured the whole thing over Zoey (this actually brought life back into her) and I started to race through the parking lot to an animal hospital that was across the street. As soon as the car accelerated, the AC turned back to cold (like flipping a switch). A couple days later it happened once more while sitting at a red light; again, it suddenly turned hot until I began accelerating. But it never happened again after that. So I still don't know what caused it. Thankfully Zoey made a full recovery. But had I been in that store for even a minute longer . . . its a scary thought! Never assume that the AC is going to continue to work properly while you run into a store. Don't take the chance.
As horrendous and upsetting it is for these parents and anyone involved I think the moral of the story is to never leave your child unattended in a vehicle.
Mom left me in the car when I was a baby in early winter to run into the grocery store to grab milk came out keys were locked in the car so she had to call papa to come unlock it.
@@Tonnie31 Yes, never leave your child unattended. Parents should watch their children even when they have to use the bathroom to take a dump or have to attended jury duty or go to the strip club to make extra money. My mom never leaves me alone, she even takes me to the liquor store or the back of a waffle house where a man always likes to sell bags of flour.
I'm a parent with grown children. I can't tell you how kids escape in impossible ways, but I know that they DO. NEVER leave children unattended in vehicles, even if you're in sight of the vehicle or will only be gone for a couple minutes or less. It's just not worth the risk and heartbreak.
When my sister had her first child this was something our mom stressed. My sister thought she was overreacting until a car with a sleeping baby inside was stolen while the mother was paying for her gas inside the station. Thankfully the child was found unharmed within a few hours.
@@stephw1702 this is one reason why I can’t trust myself having children because of my forgetfulness, I’m guaranteed to forget about NOT leaving my child in a car even if the car is locked because I’m aware humans even at young ages can do weird and seemingly impossible things
The most common thing said about all child abductions is "I looked away for a minute" Most likely the person that takes the child is watching them and they are waiting for the 1 SECOND you look away! I saw a video of an attempted kidnapping the child is in the shopping trolley seat, in a market and the grandma literally just looks away to get food (doesn't move her body) and someone grabs the baby out of the trolley! Thankfully everyone around stopped it but it can happen that quickly, there's no excuse for the safety of your children
True story, when my eldest sister was a baby (so my parents first child) my parents went to a grocery store IN A LARGE CITY in 1980, she was asleep in her carseat and when my Mom went to get her out to go inside my Dad seriously looked at her and said "let her sleep, she'll be fine." My mom said (in the moment) she regretted marrying him. None of us would have made it past three yrs old if it weren’t for my Mom.
@@lizc6393 If your Mother regretted marrying your Father in that moment, then why have more kids to him when your instincts tell you his going to be a crappy Dad ?!?
anyone who has a kid knows the feeling of losing sight of your kid in a crowd and know that unbelievable terror that grips you until you finally find them. I cant imagine years of that feeling......
Absolutely!! Your heart jumps out of your throat and then drops down in your gut and swells up like a balloon!! My oldest son hid from me behind a car while I put my baby girl in the car. I absolutely about died!! From then on out I don't take my eyes off of them. My oldest is now 17 and my youngest is 3. My kids call me a "smother mother"! I sure am and so far all 4 of my kids are ok. 🙏🙏
Yes. Happened to me in a mall in Anchorage Alaska. My boy kept hiding in the clothing carousels, turned my back for a second and he was gone. I frantically looked around and saw a crowd gathered at the entrance to the store, all looking up as did I. There was my 4 year old, 15-20 feet up the fence. Never was I so relieved. Years later he became a Mill Wright of great renown
Yep. My 3 year old walked down the street once and got picked up by some women that had good intentions, and they took her to the next street over, shortly after that me and my cousin noticed she wasn't in the back yard and we started searching for her. It was so terrifying. After I found her, and informed the police that I found her, thanked the women and all like that, I decided to check the footage from the camera outside and it was about 15 minutes from the moment she walked out of the yard to the moment I got back to the house with her. Felt like forever to me though.
Thats why someone created child leash but gets shot down left and right how horrible of an idea it is to put our own children on leash:......wait till u lose on of ur own. All of a sudden their life saver
Easily the most horrifying comment ever. If you could make a serum that mimicked this feeling, you'd be able to extract any information from anyone you wanted.
Yes no way. However with a eagle 🦅 or some sort of bird it’s possible. Bamboos have been known for stealing lion cubs and raising them as their own. Strange phenomenons take place
As a child, I used to wander off all the time, and I got lost on several occasions. I ran my poor parents ragged. No matter how close of an eye they kept on me, I managed to slip away. Fortunately, the ever-faithful family dog always knew how to find me, and I got found every time. Hearing these stories, I am even more appreciative of how lucky I was!
Pretty similar as a kid. I laugh at the stories of a skinny little kid with a mohawk running and climbing fences and trees, with our faithful boxer charging behind me to corral my ass back home. By the time I was older she’d come find me slower, not even because she was getting old, she was still in her prime, she was just done with my shit 😂 But I very much realize how terrifying that would’ve been and how lucky I was as an adult.
@@sinaparsi6736 i was a horrible teen who thought parents who did that were ridiculous...... then i became a person who did that! I always felt so bad about it after. :(
Our 1 year old got out of her car seat while I watched. She's very clever. She was also able to open the front door after she crawled forward. Kids can be very clever. They watch what you do and imitate.
My little granddaughter is not quite two; since just over one she has paid very much attention to how her car seat goes together and how it opens up. She can’t undo it yet but who knows if she was left for a while.
I think jimmy maybe was awoken when his dad went in to check on him, and when his dad left jimmy was scared and attempted to run after him, and he maybe either fell in or got snatched by something in the lake, which would explain the scream. Maybe an animal got him which would explain no body
There have been many cases in which the people or persons harmed or murdered were far away from where they expected to see another person. They assumed safety because a place logically was deserted, but they were wrong. Two teens walking along railroad tracks in a small town at 9pm...2 women camping way off a public trail...a family in a camper in the real woods...a (several different) runner(s) on (so many) a deserted country road...a farm family 8 miles from the nearest neighbor in the dead of winter when people still traveled by horse and buggy...teenagers parking up an empty and very rural gravel trail to make out...a woman walking along a deserted beach not too far from the city, in broad daylight....someone walking a short distance home in or just after a snowstorm after the plows have shut down and no one is on the roads...kids playing in a sunny front yard on an ordinary weekday in a very quiet no-traffic suburban subdivision...a hiker going up a seemingly empty public mountain trail on a bright morning, with no other cars in the parking lot...nightshift guards at a mall where the vast empty parking lot should give you plenty of warning....businesses where one person is working late or cleaning up the 10th floor and "knows" that only the night watchman has the building key...hunters enjoying the silence and solitude on a cold fall morning... All of those are real murders that happened. Apparently, some evildoers are patient, and they know that if they wait long enough and on a regular basis in places like that, there may be few opportunities but the ones that do arrive will be easy picking. When the right victim arrives, they will be completely unprepared and unsuspicious. There will be a delay during which no one will consider foul play, and even less "stranger danger". And when people look for them or try to solve the mystery, they will be saying, "Well, yes, in theory someone could have been lying in wait to ambush them, but what are the odds, really? Here? In the middle of nowhere? In this weather? On a holiday? The off season? On a Sunday morning?" (...or whenever and wherever it seems highly unlikely). A serial rapist or kidnapper hanging out in a deserted freezing rest area in the wee hours along a Nebraska interstate? How long would they have to wait? Well, if it's a trucker in a nice warm semi-trailer with a bunk and TV, he could wait quite a while...surely in a day or two, a lone female traveler will stop. And nobody will see anything.
My mum used to lock me and my baby brother in our car all the time when she wanted to go into shops / run errands. I remember getting panicky and worried after only a few minutes every time this happened, and convinced myself my mum wasn't going to come back for us. So I used to let myself out of the car and walk around, and I was scared and felt like I didn't know where I was, because I desparately wanted to know where she'd gone. I remember going into random shops and crying at the store assistants. I remember calling out to random strangers (luckily kind ones) because I was freaking out. And I was a shy, reserved kid that would never usually do that kind of thing. This started when I was 3. So it would not suprise me at all if in most of these cases the kid woke up, wanted their parents and went to 'find' them. As for Lawrence, maybe an eagle did take him. Weird situation but thank goodness he was ok.
I'm sorry you had to go thru this. The messed up part is as a child we look to our parents and see them as heros people who k ow everything. I am a mother of 5 and I am 49 years old. I didnt know much of anything when my kids were growing up. Hell I winged it. Getting lucky if anything I didnt grow up till a few years ago. Now I can say without a doubt I could raise kids and keep them safe. Well.i think now I can. If I were asked when my kids were 10 years to 1 year if I could keep them all safe and alive AND thriving. My answer would have been I hope so. Never a yes. Sorry for rambling my point is. Parents are just taller toddlers. Because becoming a parent doesnt relieve a human from being stupid it just gives us a life to look after while also trying to keep self alive. Some make it thru with ease most stumble and or fail erribly.
That sounds separation anxiety, which is natural. I think most people are lucky enough to grow out of having separation anxiety, but I had it really bad with my brothers.
Wow thank you for putting me into the mind of my “3 year old self” i never considered the child panicked not knowing where parent was. Im so sad about Gage and his poor father. May they be together😢 RIp ❤❤
My husband is a firefighter/medic and his crew was part of the search effort for Gage Wayment. It was SO crazy how that little guy covered country. Such a sad case. The father was crazy with grief and guilt- bless his poor soul. I hope he and Gage were reunited on the other side.
People who take their own life don't get a joyous reunion on the other side. They get trapped in the underworld and 100% of them regret it the second they pass. Abandoning his surviving kids was beyond selfish and his soul will pay the price.
It's so easy to judge someone. That's not for us to decide. God Bless that man and his son. I'm sure they are together in the after life. Unless you have died and went to heaven?? You have no idea what really happens!?. None of us do!?. We are all speculating. I believe in God and I believe we all go to heaven unless your a very evil soul. But to call someone selfish after hearing they took there life is really kinda harsh, I think. Jsted my thoughts. God Bless everyone.

Mrballen, somehow you manage to embellish the mysteriousness of the stories themselves just enough that it adds to the experience without being cringe-inducing and "sPooOOoOky". Hats off to you.
You are not a parent if you leave your child EVER alone in a car. Plain and simple. I don't leave my dogs alone in the car either or outside of the supermarket while I do groceries. You have the responsibillity to care for and protect your child or animals, leaving your child or dog alone in a car is not protecting Them, it is all on Them plain and simple. I would never forgive myself and could never live with myself, but i would never put Them in that situation to begin with. If you do put those who you love in such situations you don't even deserve to be called a parent.
If I've learned anything from being a mom for 25 years is that you don't know your child has gained a new skill until they use it. Like Gage, just because his dad had never seen him get out of the car seat before doesn't mean he can't.

That poor dad. So much trauma in a short period of time. Breaks my heart to hear he took his life and I'm sure it's because he couldn't cope with it and felt he was the one to blame. It's so sad
This last story is a bit more heartbreaking than most. Thinking about those 4 kids who lost their youngest brother and then their father taking his own life. Truly tragic and heartbreaking.
I can't even pretend to know what it's like to lose a child, let alone in those circumstances. But why take your own life, when the other four is counting on you, and looking up to you? Heartbreaking.

Made me cry. I like the way Mr B tells a story, but I don’t like those that involve the loss of a child, or a beloved pet either. Strange, dark, mysterious is great as long as kids and pets still get a happy life ending.
My guess is it’s the other way around. We’re hearing about the mysterious and unsuccessful searches, not the ones where people were easily found. The bad weather is probably one of the primary factors that causes evidence to be lost and searches to be difficult. Why they’re on this list.
That is one of many circumstances when people go missing: young or old person or disabled, weather turns bad within a day or two of the disappearance, among other items (read 411 Missing or watch the video for the complete list).. it’s kind of creepy
Did that native American pass his techniques to anyone?? We need him to solve a bunch of these 411 cases. Out of all the cases told I'm much more awestruck at the capabilities of that tracker.
@@gktjkytjktyjtyjtyjkf So many cases that you could look online and many cases not online. A 2 old year girl was shot in a middle of a gang war in the Bronx, near White Plains Rd and East tremont. I have the newspaper clipping with the story, name of the child, but you cannot find it online. You can search it with all social media, google, but you will never find it online. That is how it is with some cases.
I feel so bad for the dad of the last kid. He was clearly a great parent if he won sole custody of kids from 2 marriages and Ik the loss of his so devastated him. I don’t think he should have been charged, yeah he shouldn’t have got distracted but it’s not like he left the kid in a hot locked car for hours. I don’t think he knew was going to be gone for that long either. It was truly a tragic mistake and he didn’t need anymore dog piling on top of his grief.
I agree. but they want to jail people for every little thing. Trip on a rock go to jail, look at me wrong go to jail, step on my feet throw the book at you. We can afford to actually be thoughtful on how to punish people. Maybe punishing a grieving parent by way of jail isn’t a good idea, because guilt might set in thick and they off themselves 🤷🏽♂️
He left a TWO year old in a vehicle alone for half an hour to go hunt deer. That is the DEFINITION of negligence. He absolutely should’ve been charged. Whether or not someone should be charged for a crime isn’t dependent upon how sorry they feel about it, but I believe that was why he was only given 30 days. He could’ve easily gotten years due to that baby DYING as a result of his neglect.
@@BijinMCMXC He wasn’t perfect but he was doing his best and I still feel empathy for him and his kids who don’t have a dad now. @@Tejonesss I’m not saying ppl shouldn’t feel bad for him, I just disagree with you saying he shouldn’t have been charged. Punishments in situations like this demonstrates that our society takes incidents of children coming to harm or death seriously. And that’s a good thing.
Exactly! Like it was someone’s secret they were able to get them to agree to! When they grow up they most likely aren’t going to remember the full details or remember anything at all!
I think poor, sweet Gage woke up and went looking for his Daddy. As a mother of 3 kids..... I know full well how incredibly creative and intuitive a child can be. There have been many instances where I've been blown away by something my kids, or their friends, have done but shouldn't have been able to.
Unfortunately I have to agree. This is what happened to him. Yes it was a long distance to walk but the cold explains why the child wouldn’t have laid down to sleep, it was too cold. He would then be scared and lost, his only choice would be to keep looking for his dad. Truly heartbreaking for both the father and son.
@Gregory Johnson All the time no. On a hunting trip with a 4 or 5 years old kid yes. As for his mistake, he should've woken his son up and took him along or woken him up or told him he was heading up to his spot and to stay in the car until he got back.
@Gregory Johnson You didn't even read what I wrote did you? Listen dude if you're looking to start shit, go start it with someone else, I'm not interested.
I will never, NEVER go hiking, camping, or go to rural areas. YOU have officially terrified me. YOU also owe me 20 minutes I waste daily when I get home and have to search for maniacs in closets, under my bed and on my outside camera if motion detector activated. Thank you for being so good at what you do and F U too!
I've watched a couple dozen of MrBallen's videos now, and the more I watch, the more impressive I find his channel. The repetition of his "gimmick" (i.e., "If you're a fan of the dark, strange, and mysterious delivered in story format") followed by his creative recommended abuses of the Like button, and then virtuoso story-telling all make it feel familiar, addictive, and immensely entertaining. I find myself cringing as I click the next story, because even though I know I'm going to regret how disturbed I will feel after, I just can't resist, and so I click and watch anew. Bravo MrBallen! This is one of the best channels on UA-cam.
When we were kids my mom drove a van with tinted windows. She would go in the store for a few minutes to grab items and we would be in the locked van barking like dogs when people came near the vehicle 😂
These are ALL so baffling and of course a parent's worse nightmare! So heartbreaking especially to the ones that it wasn't a good outcome. The Native American tracker was an EXTREMELY genius idea and you don't see or at least hear about that happening when in reality a well known person with this amazing gift could probably aid in some cases immensely. My heart goes out to these families even tho some have been decades ago. Thank you for the stories and your incredible sense of LOVE for the LIKE button lol. Keep posting!
Jimmy was adopted by a pack of wolves, and when he grew up he asked everyone he came in contact with in the wilderness if they knew how to get to Bell's canyon.
I feel so bad for Paul. The loss of a child is the heaviest and hardest thing a parent can go through but to know inadvertently that it was your decision that caused their demise is truly too much to bear. Then him being sentenced, even if it was only 30 days was all just too much. Just totally heartbreaking.
I am from this area, and the way we tell the story is that the court sentenced him because he felt so guilty, they thought holding him responsible in some form or fashion would help him deal with his grief. Obviously there's no way of knowing what would have happened, but that is the way we tell the story.
I think parents need to be charged for things like this to teach them that is not okay to leave a 3 year old alone in a car, the little child could easily freak out all alone and go looking for his parent and get lost. There are so many cases too where both children and dogs have died because the car has become too hot. So this 100% should be illegal. Sad that he took his life though, perhaps he should have been charged to care in a psychiatric hospital.
Kids are way more capable than grown ups think. I’m sure if you ask your parents, they would have some wild stories that you were too young to remember. My brother, who was way too young to do this, & barely walked would wander off & we’d find him minutes later in the Y of trees ( yes, multiple). I don’t care how much you paid attention to him, he was just 1 of those kids that would take off the second a grown up looked away! They watch everything we do, they parrot everything they learn from us. How many times have kids seen how to unlock & open doors? Not just cars, but I’m talking baby-proofed house doors too! Just like adults are fully capable of rescuing themselves in life or death situations (I mean a whole show is built around this-I Survived), kids are also incredibly capable of wild feats.

I'm glad they found some of the kids alive. I'd love for a specialist psychologist to work with that first kid and see if they can uncover some memories of how the heck they got up the cliff. For the dog to find a trail the kid had to have gone over land and it seems so impossible for him to have wound up on that cliff alone

As a mother of three children, I have to say NEVER underestimate what a toddler is capable of. That's why you don't leave them unattended! In the last story, I feel for the dad and I'm sure he was heartbroken. But the fact remains that a three- year old had no business out in the woods, unattended in a vehicle. P.S. Many vehicles will open from the inside, even with the doors locked. So, this is not a reliable restraint for a toddler.
Virtually every single one of these Missing 411 cases has one common thread running through all of them. People either splitting up or being out of sight of each other for a period of time. Whether it’s 2 minutes or 2 hours it doesn’t matter. So stay together people.
Also they always say" and I locked all the doors" but I think they forgot to lock the doors and kid gets out frantically looking for its parent....feeling abandoned
My husband and I almost always vacation in national parks across the country. After finding Missing 411 and hearing about people who'd split up for a minute or gone back to a car or just over the next rise, we vowed we would never split up or be out of the other's eyesight.

It’s so weird to me how kids don’t ever have much to say when they go missing!!! Like when they do and you have all these questions and wonder how SOOO MUCH goes through your head and all these potential possibilities, the only explanation is something so ridiculous and gnarly and then they find the kid and asked them what on earth happened they have no idea or the only explanation is they wandered off but that atill doesn’t even come close to completely explaining it lol

What I don't understand with the Faye story is why did it take both parents to take a 1 year old inside from the car? Why leave one child unattended anyway for a few minutes. Thief wouldn't steal a car with a baby. It's hard enough to steal a car, let alone one with a built in alarm. Get it? because... babies screech and never shut up

@@numbernine3436 that's so bloody sad!

So terribly sad. This happened twice in NZ in the past 20 years, both times the baby died. Each time it had been a break in routine, the parent who usually took the child to daycare was unable to. It goes to show how much of our lives we spend on autopilot 😢
@@TussockBlue
I dont buy the break in routine excuse. If you don't usually do something but one day you do have that extra thing to do, you don't just forget it because it changes your entire plans. You dress the kid, feed him, buckle him into his seat....all when you usually don't. Then all of a sudden, after doing all that extra stuff, forget he's there? No way.
The child smiling and laughing when asked what happened would creep me out completely.

@@Lacroix999 but there would be evidence of an eagle there plus the child wouldn’t Walk there so makes no sense.

You're so right.Thanks for sharing.
You think I'd care about a toddler?
A cat, a dog, a cow, a monkey, a child? YES! a toddler, hell no!

When was this? I feel like more recently you would have ended up with CYS fairly quickly.

Made me cry. I like the way Mr B tells a story, but I don’t like those that involve the loss of a child, or a beloved pet either. Strange, dark, mysterious is great as long as kids and pets still get a happy life ending.
Why is it EVERY TIME someone goes missing, the weather turns awful?!
My guess is it’s the other way around. We’re hearing about the mysterious and unsuccessful searches, not the ones where people were easily found. The bad weather is probably one of the primary factors that causes evidence to be lost and searches to be difficult. Why they’re on this list.
Because when the weather doesn’t turn bad you find the person in an hour and then it’s a non-story.
Thats one of the Key factors that make a case a 411 case... The weather goes bad just after they go missing... ? Hmm

I feel so bad for Paul. The loss of a child is the heaviest and hardest thing a parent can go through but to know inadvertently that it was your decision that caused their demise is truly too much to bear. Then him being sentenced, even if it was only 30 days was all just too much. Just totally heartbreaking.
He was too negligent!

Did it hurt?
Sooooo true. Absolutely right Jessica Cereceres!!👍🏻❤️
yeah should really not leave keys in the ignition. was shocked when I moved to the mainland how many people do this here. also let my roommate use the car to go to a very nearby store once and he was taking long as hell so I walked over, found my car with keys in the ignition and on, I moved it away from the spot just to prove a point about how easy it is to steal a car when left like that and how disrespectful it was to risk MY car like that. nobodies ever borrowing my car again.
@@Matty80822 Please tell me you hid the car and made him think it was stolen for as long as you possibly could!
Thief wouldn't steal a car with a baby.
It's hard enough to steal a car, let alone one with a built in alarm.
Get it? because... babies screech and never shut up
Omg just get that Native American guy and fly him in whenever there’s a missing person!
To be fair most trackers who become that good also know by heart the terrain they're working on. Sending them somewhere new might not be super helpful.
So true! Guy is a legend!
Lol the first story happened in the 1930s, so safe to say that particular Native American tracker is probably gone by now.
The little kid ones always break my heart :(
gage’s was by far the saddest (in this video)
Great Videos (This one and all others including your most recent (IE 2023+) )Keep up the good work sir!!!
Yes! I have been a casual viewer for a couple years & now I'm binging your videos in release order. Thanks for all the great content & storytelling & enhancing my paranoia when I'm home alone at nite. Luckily our house isn't haunted or isolated (I am in some woods though) and I have 2 big dogs.
The story of gauge really breaks my heart. That man sounds like he was an amazing dad who would have done anything for his kids
How can you say that the father loved his son he left him behind to go shot deer and talk. A loving father wouldn't leave his child behind. The father should have taken him home instead of leaving him in a vehicle.
@@mrdallas1271 How can he not, if you show this level of grief wouldn't that show that he loved his son.
But you also have to think about that the father is human and yes he made a mistake. In my opinion he should have woke up his son and told him that he's going to look for deer. But he didn't and his son most likely just woke up and started looking for his dad.
@@alexmd4470 did he not have other children but he still decided to off himself. First he left his child behind which to me is more then just a mistake it stupidity and hate for his child and for that he lost his son after that the father took his own life and still left other children behind without a father. Thats just straight up hate I have no sympathy for this biotch of a father. He shouldn't have received custody of his children if he is just going to kill himself off after killing his own child.
Me Dallen2
That poor man was grief stricken!! You must be perfect and never make mistakes!
@@lynngroll1 I have made mistakes plenty of mistakes but never a mistake that has taken my child's life away from me.
