He wasn’t even a strength athlete. He was a body builder. Imagine if he put everything he had into powerlifting.
He would be the greatest power lifter
He was a powerlifter prior to bodybulding.
@BalticFin bro, this is when he was ripped with low body fat, just imagine if he has fat add upon those tons of muscle, geeze what monster we got then
He could halve the weight just by screaming: Lightweight baby!. 2250 lbs Deadlift
No he wouldn't, lmao
Favourite natty vegan crossfit instructor would be Rich Piana, but Ronnie Coleman comes close
I thought Ronnie was a calisthenics guy
😂
@@turjaniczazsombor04 nah dude he was gymnast
Lmao
*gluten free
“Everybody wanna be a bodybuilder but nobody wanna lift these heavy ass weights!” Ronnie was truly a special breed💪🏻
"I'll do it though!"
He's not wrong tho.
I find it kinda funny, because I don't wanna be a bodybuilder, but I enjoy lifting heavy ass weights.
The GOAT
- the skinny ass kid from my school that thinks he's hella jacked
Just laughed realizing that Ronnie did that 800x2 without bracing whatsoever haha. Dudes screaming the entire rep
Dude destroyed his back
What's bracing?
@@sebiblasko8608 breathing into your stomach so your lower back doesnt round or hyperextend
@@muhammadbasit7644 thank you for the explanation brother!
Also with the Platz-style squat while wearing wraps and a multi-ply suit. 😂
Good old natural & vegan Ronnie!
Gluten free too
crossfit
The funny part is that he was actually natural for his 1st Mr Olympia pro show therefore even during his powerlifting time back in the 1990's he was lifting naturally and was strong. After that it was another story
@@jfandjanicegrenier3402 Not sure if I believe that but dont matter anyways. Ronnie is the King!
Ronnie was a couple to 3 weeks out of a show in peak ripped condition when he did those lifts. He was by far at his strongest being depleted the way he was. Yes his lifts were super impressive but I believe he could of done way more if he powerlifted off season
"Could have", not "could of".
@@ME-kd1ko okay..thank you for the english correction but I'm French and I dont think my english is that bad. That is a minor phrasing error from my part so excuse me if you are offended!!
@@ME-kd1ko lmao who tf cares
@@CoberCH People who can spell.
I really wish there was an alternative universe where Ronnie just went strictly for powerlifting training and not bodybuilding.
Imagine those pound of muscles add with fat... he will be undebatable in power lifting
I don’t think he would have been that great actually. Those PEDs got him pretty close to as strong as he could be without gaining another 100 pounds. I don’t know if he would be able to break 1000 in squat.
Smile on your brother Try to love one another nah the roids packed on the muscle but if he trained strength all his muscles would get way stronger
@@pepegapenguinp4405 nah, training cycles for strength and muscle are vastly different even with drug use. He was hitting PRs probably carb depleted close to a competition, not using things like undulating periodization. The difference would be pretty big
ronnie was a bodybuilder always eating for that goal alone for a good physique, imagine how strong he would have been eating whatever he wanted
theh1n1shot you are wrong.
theh1n1shot stalemate.
I dont know if he ever would have broke 500 kg deadlift but he would have definitely been alot stronger imagine a 400 lb ronnie Coleman looking like julius Madox
*LIGHT WEIGHT BABYYYYYYYYYYYYY*
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*yEa bUdDy*
Yeah buddy. Yep yep yep yep
Argh
His numbers would DRASTICALLY increase if he spent the amount of time powerlifting as he did bodybuilding and would completely shatter all records in his weight class with the proper form and technique.
And now we have Larry Wheels, if only he focused on powerlifting 100% he would become history.
what he does right now earns him way more money, because he also looks good and makes those entertaining workout vids. but i would also like to see him powerlift 100% and break world records. cudos either way.
“What most people don’t realize is he’s wearing wraps and a suit” Boi it’s literally in full view
Ronnie is something else man. He's definitely a one of a kind.
That intro though ("favorite natural vegan body builder") lmaooo
Mom: One more video before going to sleep
Me:
YEA BUDDY
To be fair his "light weight baby" incantation is so powerful, that why he could do this lift as a 100% keto-vegan, natty, creatine-free, marathon runner with -4% bodyfat
You must be mistaken pal, Big Ron actually had negative 2% body fat, god broke the mould when he made Ronnie Coleman
Great video! Made me excited.
2:48, Ronnie looks incredible here, it really puts into view what a top tier bodybuilder looks like when not specifically geared toward it. His arms are incredibly big for how narrow his waist appears, and the fact that he has sucl strong powerful legs at such a narrow waist is incredible
imagine if he was trying to max out his CNS and had 14% bf hed add 100lbs on each of these lifts garunteed
3:49 my guy got them cheeks clapped
this channel needs more attention
Woot woot 15. Heres to 15k more!
If ronnie went for strength rather than size he probably would have been able to get a over all world record that would still be standing today. I train for powerlifting and if I switched to more hypertrophy I would probably go down on all my lifts for strength so for ronnie to have those high of numbers is crazy!
You deserve more subscribers
It’s incredible how much weight he does
And he still so diced could only imagine what he could’ve achieved if he trained only for the weight
His sporter had an interview where he said ronnie coleman strict barbell row 600 lbs for reps and also benched 600 lbs for reps
Which video?
Ronnie Coleman is my favourite natural bodybuilder.
Crazy quads
Ronnie’s 500lb barbell row for reps was much more impressive than his bench, squat or deadlift... lol
Nobody:
Ronnie: *YEAH BUDDY!!!! LIGHT WEIGHT BABY!!!*
That deadlifting dude on the end got some ass slapps
I think that had Ronnie trained specially for strength, he probably would have been the best ever, just as he was in bodybuilding
was a fuck*ing beast!
Imagine going to the gym for a quick workout and seeing Ronnie
He was three weeks out of olympia, thats crazy
Akim Williams is another bodybuilders who can move big big numbers
he actually did both of squat and deadlift in the same day and 1000 kg leg press too in the same day
that will make him the strongest man for me
"Damn you look skinny CJ"
Are you the same dude who runs strength central?
Yeah he is.
Fierce rivalry between those two channels.
If Ronnie wanted to be a power lifter, he would have had the record. No doubt. Light weight baby!
I broke my back. Spinal.
2:48 he won his first olympia in 1998
Greatest powerlifter if he wasn't bodybuilding
The thing is Ronnie even said he would have had a completley different way of training/diet if he went for powerlifting only...I mean you can't be a powerlifter at 4 to 5% bf year around.Ronnie said that he was pretty low in carbs which means less strength
Ronnie was the Lary Wheels of his time!
Daddy Coleman
Yo how the hell is there only 15k subbed on the channel ?
0:03 the video could not have started anyhow differently.
oh man that gyno at 10s was hard to look at tho
I think people greatly underestimate the strength function of bodyfat. Its incredibly hard to perform heavy lifts on single digit bodyfat percentages.
Subbed when i heard the opening line "Natural Vegan Bodybuilder". Ha
ayo that chalk at 3:49
3:49 me looking at the guy in orange
👀
he didnt hold the breath during lifts what would protects the spine.
Imagine the alternate reality where Ronnie was a power lifter
If we would have just trained powerlifting. I think he would have set several records
If Ronnie would have trained for powerlifting, he could have been the best
My favorite Miss Olympia
Ronnie is my favorite vegan mouthbreather.
😁😁👌🏼😁
He also deadlifted in thick soles
I wanted to know if cardio, do I really need it? Because it's such a drag and I don't wanna accidentally lose muscle. I want to get stronger for sure but don't wanna look fat I want to look strong and lean (enough) to have prominent veins pop out like my bicep vein. Well I figured I could do bloodflow restriction training and gain muscle instead of trying to reduce the fat to get vein visibility. I mean I can do the cardio but sometimes adding cardio can discourage my whole routine and be draining causing me to stop working out entirely. If I need cardio then I want enough to show promise not but if I don't need it then screw it like how 5 minutes of hiit burns like 52kcals nah screw that I'd rather do 20min and burn 200+kcals
Josiah English JCPS Account cardio doesn’t make u loose muscle it’s a myth
2200 lbs total at any body weight is still definitely professional powerlifter total numbers, and at the time he was bodybuilding 2458 was not the record. very likely if he trained for powerlifting i.e. gained a little bodyfat and trained solely for big weight he would have set the world record at the time he was active
Another thing most people don’t realize about his squat set is that he didn’t come near depth
Some bodyfat on Coleman and 1000kg+ total for sure.
Ronnie Coleman was able to Deadlift 800lbs 4 Reps squatted 800lbs 2 Reps and Bench Pressed 495lbs for 5 Reps
Natural vegan bodybuilder 😂😂i like that line
Well gotta be natural for official weight records right
Peak Haftor Björnsson as Powerlifter?
fav natural vegan bodybuilder
He got hurt playing football but nobody believes him such a shame
Natty Vegan lmfaoooo love your vids dude! keep em coming!
Didn’t Larry beat lilliebridges wr?
“natural vegan” 😂
I can't even comprehend how someone can balance 800lb without breaking their spine let alone actually squat that amount of weight.
Your bones and body structure naturally become gradually stronger as you increase in the amount of weight you are lifting.
imagine if he actually lifted heavy weight baby
Ronnie Coleman. Aka Black Jesus. Aka, Regular Jesus.
You have to realize Ronnie has done many reps of medium weight before these big weights. He didnot warm up like powerlifter but in bodybuilding style.
That a single ply not double
Imagine if Ronnie actually ate what he wanted and added fat to those muscles, literally an unstoppable machine. Before anyone says anything, remember all these lifts were at single digit BF, I'll wait for a power lifter who fills in the same criteria for those weights; And honestly only Larry Wheels comes in, not as great as Ronnie but he's a promise.
Well, he didn’t really have the spine for it
One of the major side effects of steroids is hair loss.
Look at hafthor, eddie and ronnie right here. See the trend?
you are going to like tomorrow's video
The 308lb world record is held by Larry Wheels now, not Eric Lillibridge anymore
Probably one of the most succesfull lifters of all time. Too bad he is in such a bad shape nowadays..
If he trained for powerlifting and wasn't a low bodyfat, I could certainly see 850/650/900
This is exactly the thought I had. Better programming, train his mechanics, not be depleted he would easily add 100lbs on all 3 lifts IMO, maybe more because of his high work capacity.
@@silatguy Yes, he's not "peaked" at all for his gym lifts. He's not arched much on bench. His technique, to be honest, could use some work. I think this video didn't really give him the credit he deserved.
@@GVS Not too mention on squats he never trained with over about 600lbs recreationally. Imagine his CNS adapting and saving reps in the tank for all his lifts and not feeling like depleted death lol.
@@silatguy yea. this style of constant tension as well is way harder. Pounding out reps with 500lbs on bench with minimal/zero leg drive and squeezing the pecs...nuts. Would be way over 600 with 1 RM, to only give him mid 500 is a joke.
Actually I Calculated his total is impressive its 1001 kg
If he focused on powerlifting he should easily total 2200 probably even get 2300
800lbs was nothing but a simple peanut to him
Ronnie used all the special equipment to help him on the squat and he didn’t go all the way way down but it’s okay because he is natty
and vegan
I thought larry had the 308 record
only in sleeves
Ronnie by his own admission was not a natural body builder. He was getting prescriptions for steroids. It's not like it was a controversy, it's just the way it was.
natural, vegan, AND anti barbecue
You know Ronnie just squatting 800 for a bit of a laugh
Damn this dude is toned... does he do yoga? Or maybe pilate?
Close, cycling classes on the weekend
Ronnie is not vegan
That was definitely not a multi ply suit. Looks way to easy to take off and hos eccentric is way to fast
Go look Jérémie Caron
AND he did it all at minus 3 percent bodyfat LOL
(yes im making a joke relax, if you know you know)
You saved yourself for letting me know...I WAS ABOUT TO START TYPING LIKE CRAZY.
It literally destroyed his body though.
He also lifted through a spinal injury and decided against getting surgery when it was recommended.
Insane genetics his diet wasn't even that good either he is the god send of being able to out train a diet
