Lyrics:
You have to learn to pace yourself
Pressure
You're just like everybody else
Pressure
You've only had to run so far
So good
But you will come to a place
Where the only thing you feel
Are loaded guns in your face
And you'll have to deal with
Pressure
You used to call me paranoid
Pressure
But even you cannot avoid
Pressure
You turned the tap dance into your crusade
Now here you are with your faith
And your Peter Pan advice
You have no scars on your face
And you cannot handle
Pressure

Thank you, Hughie, for having me listen to Billy Joel again
For some weird reason I didn't appreciate this song back in the early '80s. But thanks to _The Boys_ now I do.

The harmonic progression is pretty interesting, the 4ths and stepwise movement in the bass is pretty diverse
I discovered Billy Joel thanks to the boys and f am I grateful to that show. All his songs are masterpieces

Yes I had already noticed that it accelerated lol x)) I love it
I like how it progressed from full synth and drums to a whole line of musical instruments. Kinda supports the idea of how much "Pressure" is being applied and how it evolves and gets worse
Soundks like the f****** Bach!
This song is “f*cking diabolical”
When the song is called pressure and the intro already sounds like an anxiety attack, you know it's gonna be good
lol every time...

One of the greatest songs of all time, by Billy Joel or anybody else.
Right on! When I was a little kid I heard it and thought this was The Beatles or a John Lennon solo track. Later heard a dj say it was Billy Joel and was blown away.

The Boys- making billy Joel popular all over again.
Ikr bro I was thinking the same thing
Uncut gems the stranger too.
I think Billy was doing just fine without the show...
Billy Joel was already pretty popular. What's next, Cobra Kai is making Metallica popular again?
Bad Cornflakes maybe
The Boys is one of those shows that always knows how to select the best music for it's scenes... this is a big compliment but it reminds me of The Sopranos in that sense.
Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul have incredible soundtracks that always fit perfectly with the scenes their accompanied.
The Sopranos had no soundtrack. Aside from the songs that played at the end of each episode, there was no music overlay in The Sopranos.
@@hemtaii Are you sure you watched The Sopranos. In the pilot episode when Tony and Chrissy are driving through a business park to catch a guy who owed them money, there is music playing over the scene. Or Don't Stop Believing when Tony gets wacked. Or the hundreds of other songs used to accompany scenes.
@@hemtaii You need to watch the show again. There's a lot of songs used throughout each episode, not just at the end. You can see them listed on Wikipedia.
You’re absolutely right, and they also don’t oversaturate the show with scenes like that. They keep the songs brief but also give u a great amount of it to listen to in the scene. It doesn’t start feeling like a music video or something.
0:13 god I fucking love how that sounds. I just started learning to play piano and now I have a fucking goal to reach
Curious....are you able to play it now ?
Here is one I used when I started teaching myself. The Doors - The Soft Parade
I hated playing piano but this makes me want to play it, like everyone else I have the boys to thank
hows it going?
There was just too much *pressure* on him to complete the riff that he hasn’t. 😔
That synth line is just… mwah.
Is that good?
@@Tolstoy111 yeah. I’m doing a chef’s kiss
Although I'm Japanese and this song was released 40years ago, I really heard by TV (started "Best hit USA" that time also) and FM radio 📻. This time I just found this Billy Joel channel in UA-cam, I'm so happy 😊
Perfect song to wake up to on a Monday morning, whether it’s for school or work lol

Daddy’s home
The Boys is frickin masterpiece "Daddy's Home" 💯💯💯💯
Joel is the king of variety, his songs are so different from one another. But also sets the bar with each song. This song reminds me alot of Bowie but like PEAK Bowie.
You get musicians like Rick Astley or Tom Petty that have songs that sound quite similar to each other, but Billy Joel has a lot of variety.
bowie’s peak was very long, like his entire career from the 70s to the start of the 90s imo
Billy knew......these times were the eighties ❤
I've listened to Billy Joel ever since I was a little girl - my parents always had the music on and I am so grateful for it! His songs have quite literally been the soundtrack to my life. Lovely to see loads of people here because they watched The Boys - a fantastic tv show and it has Billy Joel songs in it! Win-win!
I can ESPECIALLY relate to the song "Surprises"-which was-presumably-about a guilt ridden young gentleman who had committed a serious, consequential verbal indiscretion-as I did in Des Moines, Iowa on the evening of December 24'th, 1987-at the tender young age of 22 years/9 months/8 days-then-and now-I feel that Billy Joel was talking directly to ME!

Is this a reference to something? Because if not, this comment is SEVERELY underrated. Absolutely hilarious, and I will probably remember this for a long time
Here from The Boys. Absolutely love this.

Yeah, the Boys is a good show, but Billy Joel was the shit back in the '80s
No. Here from Threat Level Midnight
Billy Joel is one of the few musicians that could merge musical genres in the same song and make it sound good. a real musician.
One of my first albums!!! It makes me so happy to see another generation turned on to this music.
My favorite Billy Joel song of all time! Happy 71st Birthday, Billy!

Daddy's home. Thanks to the boys for letting me know this banger. 💖
There I was an innocent 10 year old sitting in front of the TV and a commercial for this album came on that included a snippet of the video for this song and my young ears perked up and my attention was instantly grabbed by the powerful music and voice . I absolutely loved it and was left wanting to hear more of it ....thus I was hooked on The Piano Man. My love and admiration for Billy as a brilliant musician and amazing singer has only increased with his ever growing list of hits and radio staple classics in the 40 years since that fateful day. Pressure still remains a particular soft spot and favorite for me because it was the song that led me to him.
Nunca fale mal do Billy Joel
Thanks for the audio only version. It sounds much better.
Yes ! I heard this from the boys yesterday
The Boys. Brazil!
I freaking love this song!
This end of this song. It sounds so… *diabolical*
I love the drum fills on this song.
I knew a metal drummer that like Joel's drummer, Liberty DeVito
The cool thing about this music in The Boys it's that it describes exactly how Hughie was feeling, "you have no scars on your face, and you cannot handle pressure", even tho Hughie lost his girl, he is not someone with many scars such as Butcher.
я был шокирован этой песней!!! до чего же она прекрасна !!))) СПАСИБО БОЛЬШОЕ!!
I don’t care where you came from but we can all agree this is a good song
Ahhhh i love billy joel
The greatest sports analogy: "...But here you are in the ninth, two men out and three men on, nowhere to look but inside..."

Thanks to the Boys for shining light on the Joelmeister’s lesser known greats (I have a shirt with the same Piano Man design as Hughie in S1).
IMO, Billy Joel is one of the greatest male singers of all time. That's across all genres.

Like can we talk bout how they open and finish the episode with this bang???!! I dont know i think its poetic
