We rented a Thor a couple of years ago to see if we even liked RVing. I learned then I would never own one. We purchased a Gretch and have not been disappointed yet.

Fun video. You guys do sarcasm with such style 😁 We have the Winne 59PX and it's the perfect size for us...5'6" we can comfortably sleep cross wise in the bed with a small dog, yes she hogs the bed in case you wondered. My pet peeve is that although it has 110v ac outlets in convenient places it has no inverter so your generator must be on. There goes being quiet to run a small Keurig or something like that. It drives like Mr. Lemon (thanks SumoSprings) but it does fully take up a standard on street parking space. Having the extra garage space inside the back is a must as my wife uses a folding wheeled walker (Go Speed Racer) and it stows securely back there with the clip system that's included. We're just back from a few days at Morrow Bay State Park. Lovely place and not fully booked this time of year. I hope to meet you guys one of these years. See you next week.

For van shades look into VanMade gear their shades imho are #1 and if they don’t make for your van maybe you can make a trip down get measurements and get a custom set. Well, when you consider that this show is going on at the same time as the Florida RV show it is hard for vendors to show their stuff at the same time in 2 separate places, however no excuse for the lack of vendors or prices.
The 2nd row bench seat on the Hymer is nicer than the Solis, one of my biggest criticisms of the Solis. In the Scope, that is a really weird place for a convection over! Right over the passengers? Come to Florida for the RV shows!

The chassis on RVs is usually 1 model year older than the actual RV. That’s because the chassis is shipped - usually in quantity - to the manufacturers and then the RV is built on, or inside in the case of class Bs, the chassis throughout the year.
We love our Solis 59PX, but that those seats do NOT slide. I’ve ridden there a few times, and it’s not bad for an hour or two, but I wouldn’t want to sit there regularly. Good for kids and nice as a dinette, though.
We wanted to go to that. We had Quartzsite plans for January. But Covid had other ideas for us. We both rang in the New Year sick and are still crawling out from under the lingering cough, That was a very odd looking. Winnebago Solis PX you went through. Very crudely modded. We had a Travato G, and then we downsized to a Solis Pocket, the 17 foot teeny B. I think we overshot it because my 6'2" husband just doesn't fit very well in that small space. So we're looking at the midsize Solis P, which still keeps it under 20 feet. The PX is on the same 21' Promaster 3500 chassis as the Travato, which is I think the same as your as Mr. Lemon. But I digress. The chassis is always last year's. Or nearly always. It is possible to get a very late model end of the year unit that's on a,same-yearchassis. But most of them are on the previous year's chassis. We bought our 2023 Pocket in July and the 2024s were already coming out. But I don't think any of those crossways sleeping layouts would work for two 6-footers. My husband has trouble sleeping diagonally on the Pocket's Murphy bed by himself. I sleep on the mini-couch. Maybe the ones like the Revel or Storyteller with the flares for extra inches, but, I don't know, I don't like the idea of crawling over someone in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. We're better off with two sleeping spaces.
@@Vancaskeys Yeah, we've avoided it for four years. We went to a restaurant that we consider about a safe as you can get indoors. Huge space, well ventilated, a community, full of at risk seniors (like us), mostly vaccinated, went at 4:30 to avoid peak diners. We but all it takes is one infected server or patron.
That wasn't even plywood in that first used van, it was OSB. At least with plywood you can sand the edges smooth and stain and urethane and have a protected long lasting base. I understand with current prices why they went with Oriented Strand Board.
You need to go with the build your own van plan! That would be great content. I recommend watching a recent video by Steve Lehto (a lawyer) about why you shouldn't buy a new RV.
It sounds like they were trying to pawn off all of their used models that wouldn’t sell at that show. Glad the food was great. Makes it worth the trip. And Quartzsite is trippy all on its own. 😂
Great video. Our upper cabinets are really close to our heads while we sleep. In the beginning we'd hit our heads all the time. Now it's second nature to duck to avoid banging our head. We spent the month of October in CA and it took me a week, after returning home, to stop ducking my head while in bed IN MY HOME. Ha ha ha.
So far we don’t have another RV show planned…we just kind of find them and go. If you have any RV shows near you let us know…we want to travel to a few RV shows across the US this year. Would be fun to meet you!

Hey Bob and Hillary. We went on Tuesday and Friday and there were three times as many people there as when you were there. We have been going for years now and my theory is this. They show class As, Cs and fifth wheels because the average age of the attendees are in their 60s and 70s. Hardly any younger folks. Plus no one wants to buy anything new right now. These COVID coaches arent worth the money you pay for them. La Mesa did have some Bs down on main street north of the tent. But I’m sure they didn’t want to see you two walking through the gates. 😅. Sorry we missed you guys.

Funny video! I am taking it that you are 'newbies' to Quartzite. That show really is a 'temporary FLEA MARKET' with some RV's. It also has the "Pro League" of sales people if you know what I mean. The reason there are no prices posted is because it is DIFFERENT for every person asking. ?!?! Example: If you have a trade in that model is $150,000.....if NO TRADE, it might be $99,995 if you're lucky!! You have to know how sales people work.........BEWARE!!! And mainly used because that is where they MAKE A LOT OF MONEY!!!!
@@Vancaskeys Battle Born have a great warranty. Our new van has three 270 watt hour Battle Born batteries. I don't mind paying more for long-lasting trouble-free components.
I prefer to not have a problem with my batteries when I go to Alaska. Do a Google search for problems with Chin batteries. You get what you pay for quite often.

I like the solis, it’s just a shame it’s the promaster. It could be transit AWD and be amazing.

our cabinets are at least padded on the bottom - in case I do bump it in the dark!
Well Bob if you go get your beast you can always remove the cabinet to avoid that and CAV even has a mod of smaller cabinet to boot 😉
